Summary: Check out the 128MB SmartMedia Card
Review: Before you buy this card you may want to take a look at the 128MB SmartMedia cards. I personally purchased a Viking 128MB SmartMedia card (SSFDC3/128) because it was less expensive than buying two of these 64MB Olympus cards and having one card is very convenient.

Keep in mind that if you set your camera to the highest quality setting that each image will be around 6MB each. That would only be 10 images on this 64MB versus 21 images on the Viking 128MB SmartMedia card.

Summary: VERY disappointing...
Review: First, let me say that I LOVE my Olympus Digital camera (460 D Zoom) and I love my Viking IntelliFlash USB Flash Memory Reader, both of which I bought... They are fantastic products, and for a beginner in the digital photography world, they are simple, yet offer speed and quality you will want to have as you get more and more involved in your hobby. I have bought a 32mb SanDisk Smart Media card, and I love that too. I decided to invest in the 64mb card because I started taking pictures at the higher quality selection on my camera. What I can't figure out is why my camera cannot select the higher quality mode when this memory card is in it. I am REALLY disappointed. Sure, I can take almost 1000 low quality photos with this card; I know that's amazing. But, I specifically bought this card for high quality (actually medium quality since it's only a 1.3 megapixel camera). I just don't understand why this wasn't stipulated in the product description.

Review: I have not received my camera as yet, therefore I cannot type a review or opinion regardng same. I will be happy to do so when I receive my camera.

Summary: One Great Card
Review: I purchased one of the cards when I got my OLYMPUS c3040. The 16MB cards are too small for a camera like this. Now I don't have to change cards (or at least not very often). If you're shooting panaroma's at all, don't settle for anything less.

Summary: Great Price For This Card - Lots Of Pics
Review: I'm no Ansel Adams - but I wanted a good quality card that was going to last a while. My 8MB was useless for quantity. I bought this 64MB (and another later) and found I could get:

664 SQ (Standard Quality) Photos-good only for web pages
199 HQ (High Quality) Photos-good enoug for small prints
71 SHQ (Super High Quality) Photos-great for good prints up to 5 X 7 inches.

This does not include 'panaramic shots', which take up more memory. I also shopped around and found that Amazon had the best prices. Of course, the 128MB card stores more pics, but the price jump was significant.

Don't worry about 'refurbished' media cards. They are just fine, cheaper and have the same warranty as 'new' cards.

I just shoot my pics and mail them off when I am on vacation. I never have to worry about getting my camera stolen or misplaced and losing my pictures. What else do you need?

Summary: A Premium Card... well worth the premium price
Review: It didn't take long after I purchased my camera to realize that the included 8MB card was just too small. Was undecided between 64MB and 128MB until I saw the price of this Olympus 64MB at Amazon. I think I'll still get another (few?) 128MB cards from other manufacturers, but this one Olympus 64MB card is just excellent (for panoramas). Don't really mind paying the premium for the panorama capability.

Summary: I Want my Panoramic Pictures
Review: OK, so the olympus cards are a little on the pricey side, but you definitly get a quality product in return. So the price is the only real obstical preventing a five star rating. I got the card because it does support the panoramic function on my Olympus camera. Imagine that, the Olympus SmartMedia cards are the only ones that are compatible with the Olympus Camera's panoramic function. That said, its worth paying the extra money if you have an olympus camera with a panoramic function, but wait for it to go on sale, that's what I did.

Summary: Might not be worth the price premium
Review: SmartMedia is sold under several brands. Olympus branded SmartMedia allows you to take "panorama" shots. Essentially, you take multiple shots while making sure to overlap edges. You then reassemble these multiple shots using the "Camedia" software that came with your Olympus camera. The difference is that when an Olympus brand SmartMedia card is used, your digital camera keeps exposure settings constant across these multiple shots; which makes for a consistent panorama when you reassemble the individual shots via your computer.

This is a nice feature, but not a feature most of us use often; for example, on a recent two week trip, I took 220 shots of which only 12 were panorama. If you are going to purchase multiple SmartMedia cards, you might be able to do with just one or two Olympus brand cards - especially since they cost more than other brands. I use two other brand SmartMedia cards, and save my Olympus brand cards for when panorama shots present (since you can switch the cards out at anytime - unlike traditional camera film).

Also to realistically determine what the price premium is, check prices for Olympus and other brand SmartMedia not only here, but also at other popular commercial sites.
