Review: The Simple Tech Compact Flash Reader is well worth the price. Couldn't be easier to install. Installed on Windows 98 and XP and worked with both just fine. Put the card in and pictures download with ease. Not all things you purchase have to be expensive.

Review: As a user of Mac OSX I was looking for an easy-to-use mass storage compliant card reader so I wouldn't have to hastle with downloading drivers to support Mac OSX.This unit does the trick. You just plug it into your USB hub and it transfers your photos easily and quickly no software downloads or fuss. It's small, simple and easy to use.

Summary: I can live without a Flashlink!
Review: Trying to get images from digital camera to your pc is like pulling teath... time consuming and painful! I got one of these Flashlink readers and it changes everything. Not only do I download images faster, but it frees up my digital camera to take more pictures!

Review: It was taking me way too long to transfer my pics from the digital camera to my computer. So all I do is take the compactflash card out of the camera, slip it into to the Simpletech Flashlink reader and get images on my PC fast! Plus, someone else can use the digital camera while I do images transfers... awesome!!

Summary: Good value and easy to use
Review: The reason for why I bought this item was that I did not want to connect my camera always whenever I wanted to transfer pictures from my digital camera to my computer. Why? Just a bit more flexible at the same time as I spare the batteries of my camera, and for this price, I think it is worth it. There are a lot of CF-readers on the market but this one I feel comes with a good price. Paying more for a thing like this would be a waste of money. I feel that as long as the functionality is the same, there is no need for spending more cash. This CF-reader is also very flexible since it allows you to detach the cable from the reader. If you have "easy to reach" USB connections you can connect the reader directly which in combination with usage on Windows 2000/XP (requires no special drivers) makes it a very small and portable solution. There is only one thing you should remember before buying this CF-reader if you are a user of older versions of Windows, e.g., Windows 95/98. Then you need to install some drivers before first usage on a computer. So, it is not possible to just connect it to any computer without first installing the drivers (for example connecting it to your friends computer to share pictures). This is however not a big problem but it removes some of the flexibility of being able to connect it anywhere. An alternative for Laptop users with a free PC Card-slot can be a PC Card CF-reader. These also come with a good price (cheaper than a USB-reader) and usually (the ones I have used) do not require any special drivers. Once you are ok with what I have mentioned above, I recommend this as a buy. I have used the CF-reader on several computers with no problem at all. Good value and easy to use.

Review: SimpleTech designs great products and this reader is a prime example of great design. Compared to the Viking IntelliFlash, which I just returned to Amazon, the SimpleTech reader is superior in every way. Simply plug and play, no drivers to install. Hot swap the cards in the reader without the reader becoming confused. No matter what the card format the SimpleTech is treated like an ordinary drive in your Explorer window. ...less than the Viking, with clearly superior ease-of-use, design and technology, this SimpleTech reader is the only decision you should make for a card reader.
