Summary: Cute, convenient, cheap
Review: Great little reader for the price. Comes with a detachable USB cable. No software needed to work with Mac OS X... just plug it in and go. I'm glad I bought one.

Summary: Very Happy I Bought It
Review: I've never had a problem with this product. It works just as advertised. I have had things happen to the computer whereby it no longer recognized the reader (the green light went out), but by simply unplugging it and plugging it back in the computer recognized it again and it worked fine. I don't know if this is an issue with the device or Windows 98 SE, though. It works well with the SimpleTech 256 MB flash card I bought, as well as the little 8 MB Canon card that came with my camera.

Summary: GREAT PRODUCT!
Review: I've had trouble in the past w/ transfers, computer compatibility -- not with Simpletech. I plugged it in, my computer detected it immediately, my pictures were quickly transfered. I recommend this to anyone moving into the world of digital technology!

Summary: Simple, small, super
Review: It worked flawlessly for me on my Win2K machine, and I even use instead of a portable drive to transfer files using a small CF card. For this price, its a steal. I'm not sure if this model comes with the extension cord, but mine did.

Summary: Simple - but it works!!!
Review: Like it was reviewed earlier...it is true plug n play in Windows XP. The device is amazingly simple yet it lives up to it's name and does the job.

Added bonus is that SimpleTech sells overall good products and has excellent customer support.

Definetly recommended!!!

Summary: Handly little gadget.
Review: I didn't buy this flash card reader. I bought similar one, which for some reason Amazon.com decided to replace with the model imaged above. The version I got had a detachable cord that was really just a USB extension. The card reder itsefl could be plugged straight into a USB port without the cable.

Anyway, I made my purchase of a Simpletech Flashlink UCF-100 Flashc ard reader because I wanted to be able to take pictures off of my Canon A40 using school computers (Macs) which I cannot install software on. I do a lot of web design and print design work and have my camera with me all the time ot snap pictures of object I may want to use later. This flash card reader was perfect for what I needed. It required no drivers so I can go from PC (home) to Mac (school) with no problems. I can take pictures off of my camera without draining the camera batteries (just gotta pop out the flash card) which is a big plus since the camera practically eats batteries. Also with the Vikin 128MB Flash card I can transfer files to and from school easily without the problems sometimes associated with Zip100 disks.

Best of all the flash card reader is small, measuring about 2" by 1.5" so it easily fits in the front pocket of my camera case. It is also very light weight, and I mean light, it can't weigh more than a handful of styrofoam packing peanuts.

It feels a little 'cheap' when you first pick it up, but it is solidly made and has been bounced around my school bag for the last few months and is none the worst for wear.

Great product.

Summary: Works as promised
Review: I had a lot of problems with this at first. I messed around with it for a long time. I thought it was defective at first, but found out I had something wrong with my OS. After a fresh install of Windows, it worked as promised. You won't have to install any drivers for this product if you have Windows ME or later (might include 98SE also). Transfers files much faster then the camera does. For the price this is a great buy.

Summary: SimpleTech CompactFlash Reader
Review: Now the word "simple" certainly describes this product. I received the SimpleTech CompactFlash Reader and was worried because I did not see any software for installing it. But it doesn't need any. Installation was a snap - all I did was plug it into the USB port and my computer loaded the new hardware in a flash. I have had no problems with it at all. I am using Windows XP. I also use a 12x (speed) 128mb Lexar media card. I have a Nikon Coolpix 4300. The SimpleTech Reader is really a nice bang for the buck. You can't beat it.

Summary: Fast, Affordable, Reliable.
Review: Have had my SimpleTech CF reader for about 8 months and have had no problems with it at all. I got it to try and eek out more battery life out of my Canon Elph and also to bypass using the camera to transfer images, (I personally don't like the software that came with my camera to transfer the images)

I'm on a Mac, plug this in to a USB port, slide in your CF card and a little icon pop's up on your desktop (like a zip disk would) and you copy the images to your desktop. Delete the images from your CF card, eject card. and you're done. Pretty simple stuff. I'm satisfied after 8 months.

Good Luck :-)
