Summary: CF CARD ERROR!
Review: I have a Cannon S45 and loved the card up to the point it died. I was on Lake Tahoe for a friends wedding and had taken countless pictures and videos. All of a sudden, the camera froze up. The CF card error pops up and that's it. I've had 2 friends try the card in their cameras and the same thing happens... so I know it's not the camera. I won't buy another Viking....

Summary: A top notch card for low dinero.
Review: I got this card a few months back. Bottom line it works great, I am getting ready to buy another. I use it in my Canon G3 and my PDA. Have had absolutly no problems at all, [...].ts remaining. That's outrageous! What's more outrageous is getting a meg for less than 14 cents/per! How can you go wrong with a deal like that? I'll admit that I haven't used the card for more than a couple of dozen shots/movie clips, but reliability and file corruption have not been an issue...I have not had any problems whatsoever with it. Thanks to Viking and Amazon for another tremendous deal!!

UPDATE:
Have been using the card heavily for nearly 8 months now, and have not had a single problem. The card has been flawless with pictures and video. I make sure to reformat the card after every download, and have had no problems or suprises. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. Also, I filled out the rebate exactly as instructed, sent it in, and had the check in my hands in about 7 weeks. I feel sorry for everyone that is having problems....I'd be angry, too. Fortunately, I've had no problems, so I'm a happy camper!!

Summary: Good Product but Beware of their rebates
Review: Pros: the card is fast and reliable. it's a quality product and if you're comparing speed, this is an 8x card. Cons: I have bought a couple of viking cards over the past 3 years and their REBATES NEVER COME. While it's priced reasonably without the rebates, they are nevertheless hooking you in with rebates that never come. ...

Summary: work only once...
Review: i dont know if this product is a defect or not, but very disappointed. used on G3 once, then formatted it, and can never use again. camera cannot detect there's a flash card installed. when swapped with Lexar, it was working fine. when swapped back to Viking again, still could not detect. very disappointed. [...] talk about the quality of Viking.still got CF errors when trying to display the next images. Something went terribly wrong with the card. I formatted it and took several pictures. I would still get CF errors. I am using the 32MB card that came with the camera with no problems at all. I am now considering the Lexar 24x card or the new 40x card due out this month. I bought a 128MB Viking card for my son and he is having no problems with it at this time. I guess I just got a bad one.

Summary: works great for Canon, but not on Nikon
Review: I have a Canon S45, and this performs well for me (had it for 6 months), fast and no problem so far.

My father-in-law has a Nikon (forgot the exact model #), and seeing how it works well for me, he also bought a viking 256 CF, and he can't stop complaining. On his Nikon, the viking 256 CF does works very slowly (like 5-7 seconds between shots) compare to the Lexar 12x 128mb CF that he has; however, when I put his viking 256 CF in my S45, it works flawlessly just like my viking 256 CF. so maybe Nikons just doesn't work well with Vikings.

Summary: Had to return after some 30 formattings
Review: Although it's said to be a reliable brand, the card stopped working suddenly and I lost all my picture data on it, without having it exposed to radiation or anything. And especially the writing time was not famous, a no-name card I had to buy "on blind" immediately has worked faster.

Summary: Stopped working after 10 days
Review: I use this card in my Canon 10D digital SLR camera. After about 10 days it started to give errors when trying to preview my images. On some images it gave me "Card error" message, whereas on others it gave me "Image too large" message, even though I had viewed those images numerous times before, and they were not large at all.
I bought this card because the tests on http://www.dpreview.com had shown that this particular CF card performs best on above-mentioned Canon camera.

Summary: my fav brand, works flawlessly.
Review: I have a Sandisk 256 card besides my Viking 256 card and for my 2mp Canon S200 camera this card is definatley my first choice.

I bought this card mainly because of price and I checked out dpreview.com's reviews of similar cards (go to digital media) and the Viking cards did well, if not better than other cards. Compared to the Sandisk 256 my Viking was noticebly faster in both shooting and in review though 600 images.

Main reason I didnt get the 512 card was, well I dont know what I would do with that amount of space, as this card hold approximately 500-600 images. (with my 2mp camera)

So definatly highly recommended.
Cheers.

Summary: Great card, works perfectly with my G3 with speed
Review: The write speed is good, I wish they published the actual speed instead of saying 8x write but tests show its 15x. Good value for money got it for $$ after rebate.
