Summary: The new floppy disk
Review: I have two of these cards. One for my PDA and a 128MB one for my camera. They work as advertised and the transfer rate seems decent.

Summary: Don't buy this product!!!!
Review: I just lost a bunch of photos on this card from our trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. I also have a 256 from Lexar and Panasonic. No problems with those. The photos were still on the SanDisk card when we returned home. I put it in the card reader and nothing came up. I tried again two days later, and got some puzzling information; put it back into the camera (Pentax Optio 550) and got a "card not formatted" message. Buy cheap, get cheap. WARNING - DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. Unfortunately I couldn't give it zero or negative stars.

Summary: SD cards becoming more prevalent
Review: I purchased the 256MB SD card as a conduit between my PC, a Tablet PC with integrated SD slot, and my Toshiba Pocket PC. The price point of the 256MB capacity is such that it can store plenty of programs, documents, photos. The SD medium is definitely on the way to being the most convienient storage technology. With digital cameras and smart cell phones also supporting the postage-stamp-size devices, it isn't long until these are everywhere. All Sandisk products are of great quality, I have had no problems with this unit and would recommend it to anyone - and the larger capacities will be just as affordable as time goes on.

Summary: So far, so good
Review: I read the other reviews about this card--mine was made in China too but I haven't had any problems with it so far.
I use it in my Canon Optura 20 camcorder, and it can hold around 270 pics in the "super fine" mode. (...) I think I got an excellent deal on this card.

Summary: An exelent card, but does not come formatted.
Review: I use the one of this size and brand card that was included with my SanDisk cruzer reader. The card is extremely fast, and is extremely reliable. I also noticed that the SanDisk Cruzer worked a lot faster than my digital camera, so it's a good buy for a few extra bucks if you want to get that.

There are two reasons many people have had trouble with Sandisk SD cards.

First, the obvious, like any storage device, it must be formatted before use.

The reason SanDisk does not format the card in the factory, is likely due to the fact that it takes longer to manufacture that way. Second is that some items, such as some digital cameras, must reformat cards. There are also the issues of FAT16, FAT32, or VFAT (FAT32 with long filenames, etc.) Most PDAs would want VFAT, but many digital cameras can't handle it, and some even require the older DOS FAT16 format, as it is much easier to handle with small processors.

Additionally the SD card standard is designed that some devices will accept a maximum size, or only a certain size. Many earlier Palm PDAs only supported 64MB, but most newer ones support more.

Summary: Great Product
Review: I use this memory card in my 4 megapixel digital camera. I save all the photos on the highest image size, and I still never have to worry about filling up the card, unless I am on an extended vacation. I usually get about 130 photos on this card. I have never had any problems with lost photos, or downloadingto my computer. At $65.00 this product was a bargain.

Summary: Quite impressed!
Review: I've got a couple of these non-Ultra Sandisk 256 cards for my iQue and I thought they were fine for maps, but not super fast as I would presume an UltraII card to be. Anyway, I tried it in my DSnap SD camcorder and it worked! It wasn't supposed to work, according to Panasonic which mandates a 10 mbps transfer rate for the camera. Ha! I'm impressed.

Summary: Great product
Review: I've used on my DigiCam. It works perfectly. I Don't mind it was made in China, cause I noticed my DigiCam was made in China too. it seems they like each other better...
Actually, look around your house, how many things are not made in China? in my house, the TV, the stereo, the furniture, the carpet, even my Thinkpad was made in China...

Summary: Great, but bigger is better
Review: No, as amazon states your not saving $100 on this item, the price listed is a normal price for this size card. I bought this card only 1 year ago, and at that time it was twice as much money as it is now, therefore these memory cards get cheaper and cheaper, So if your not in a rush I would reccomend waiting a little longer, in any case you should always buy the largest card you can afford, as for this card itself it is extremely reliable and quality made, it has not once failed me, I use it mainly in my digital camera however I have used it in a cell phone, to tranfer pics taken with the cell to the computer. Great value, great price, great quality as Sandisk always is.

Summary: Useless Piece of GARBAGE
Review: Oh, How I WISH I read the reviews here before buying this. I guess I'm one of the "lucky" ones though - The card was useless
right off the bat - I didn't loose any pictures or data. I got a "Protected Card" message in my HP digital camera which made the card useless and a "Card Error" message in my HP printer. Returned the card. Second card, exact same problem. Returning it too. The eBay seller is refunding my purchase price only - I'm out 15.00 in postage & "Handling" - He also claims that the 1st card I sent back is working "perfectly" (HA!) and that my camera must not be "compatable" with SanDisk (Rubbish!). My camera CAME WITH a 32mb SanDisk card that works great. I bought a SimpleTech 256MB card from Amazon and it works beautifully in both my camera and printer.
My advise: RUN AWAY! Buy ANYTHING ELSE but a SanDisk 256MB card made in China and if you're a gambling type and decide to buy a SanDisk after reading all these horror stories, for the Love of God,DON'T buy it on eBay!
