Summary: Problems and no answers
Review: I bought 2 128 MB cards for use in an Olympus 3000 digital
camera. The Viking site says they're compatible. However,
the camera frequently gives an error when I insert the cards
(no problem with the 64 MB card). Sometimes I take many
pictures successfully (it seems), and then when I try to
read the card on my computer, no pictures. I wouldn't rely
on this stuff to take *important* pictures like a wedding
or a distant vacation! This digital stuff still can't beat
film for reliability (never had a roll of film tell me
"ERROR reading roll"!)But maybe with top-notch service it wouldn't be a problem, so... I go to Viking's support site and try to get tech support:
no existing answers for this problem. I report the problem
on the web site which promised an answer in 2 hours. No
such luck. On another place on the web site it says tech
support is available by email within 48 hours (it's been 4
days and counting now, and not even an acknowledgement that
they got my questions), and 24x7 live telephone support.
Depending on where you are on the web site, they make you
sign up with a "user id" to be able to just submit a question! I call the number (supposedly 24x7) and the recording says
their hours are 8 AM to 5 PM weekdays. So I'll have to
wait until Monday and try again. They did let me leave a
message though.

Summary: Can't beat the price
Review: I bought this card when there was a sizeable rebate on it and it was less than comparable 64MB cards. I'm very happy with it. I use it in my video camcorder and it stores over one thousand pictures(overkill). I was hoping that I could use it in my girfriend's mp3 player, but a I didn't check a head of time, and I found out that isn't possible since it only accepts up to 64MB cards. But I am very happy with the card and recommend it.

Summary: It's only good until you formatted it
Review: Well, the bad thing is after your camera with this 128MB card has errors, then you format it. The problem is really big: the speed is VERY slow after you formatted it. YOu can only ship it back to VIKING to have them fix it for you.

Summary: 128MB SmartMedia does work with Rio 500 (firmware v2.15)
Review: Good price ($$$)last week, now (...), and it does work with my Rio 500. I have firmware v2.15 (...) Win2K, MusicMatch 7.0 (Options->Add New Features to get latest Rio500 plugin). Took a few minutes to fill the 128MBs (USB).

Summary: Too big for MP3 Players
Review: I bought this additional memory along with a Samsung Yepp hip-hop Mp3 player. But, when I put it in the MP3 Player, the player for somehow can't read the memory. It is probably because the memory is too big (128 mb) for the MP3 Player. But, i believe this memory can be useful later for my future digital camera. I would suggest this memory to be used for advanced PDA's and digital cameras.

Summary: Hey There! What's this??
Review: Hey There! I just recieced this little card. Very thin and you wouldn't believe the size. its just amazing on how 128 (Actually its about 124 MB after the 64KB blocks used for each MB for memory manegment) MB fits on just a small card. However I use it for my Mp3 player. (Nomad 2c Creative Labs see my review) The card works great with the player. however, it is a bit slower but a reader from Viking can fix the problem if you are really that mean about speed. Its great though. Its worth the (dollar amount). (Im mad that I bought the card later and I lost (dollar amount) because I couldn't wait.)

Summary: What can I say? It works.
Review: I would rate the card at 5 stars except for the cost being higher than some other brands. When I purchased it, the price was the lowest around, but of course 2 months later the prices have dropped in half again. I use the card in my Olympus 3040, and love the ease of copying files as an external drive. Unless there is a special reason for buying a more expensive brand that I don't know of, I can't see choosing one that costs more.

Summary: What's not to like?
Review: It holds a butt-load of stuff. I've never actually filled it up, and it's nice to know that I can keep all the digital photos from a two-week trip with room to spare here without any concern.

Review: Works well with the creative nomad IIc I bought. Just had to make sure I had the latest firmware update for my player.

Summary: Fine 128MB card with good plastic case
Review: I also purchased the Olympus brand 128MB card for my Olympus 3040 camera, and found this Viking 128 MB card to work just as well...minus the panorama feature which I have not used anyway. The Viking card costs quite a bit less and comes with a nice small plastic card case, which is more useful for carrying and protecting memory cards in your camera bag than the larger case (which tends to pop open) as Olympus provides.
