Summary: Don't B-U-Y P-N-Y
Review: I purchased a PNY 1GB compact flash card from a local retailer. I put the card in a brand new Canon Rebel 300D, snaped a few shots to test the card... Images came back striped, with strange colors and patterns often taking up half the image.
Worried it was the camera, I switched back to my eMedia 256MB card took a few
shoots of the same subject, everything was normal. No stripes, no strange colors.
Still not convinced it was the flash card, I repeated the process, putting the PNY CF back into the camera. Stripes, colors, patterns again!
I thought this may have been an isolated case, until I read the reviews here on Amazon. I will not be buying PNY again. I suggesting sticking with better known (and more costly) brands.

Review: Bought my card a couple of months ago.
Immediately 256 mb card started giving me trouble.
It could NOT hold data from my canon digital camera nearly as well as my other flash card.
Just yesterday it went dead on me...all of a sudden nothing...all my images -- gone with it. Meanwhile my other flash card did fine.
Based on reviews I have read on other manufacturers I would go with their products...
We'll see how the company performs when I try to return it....will they take responsibility?Stay tuned.

Review: How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.
The PNY 256MB CompactFlash Flash Memory Card, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.
I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

Review: I bought this PNY CompactFlash card 4 months ago for my Nikon Coolpix 3100 camera, and have used it all summer, taking about 600 pictures. I haven't had any corrupted pictures, or problems. The speed of the memory is the problem. When the flash is used, it can take up to 10 seconds to save the picture. That is frustrating. Is it the camera, or the CF card? I would look for a card with a higher x4, x8, x12, x40 rating. I don't even know what the x rating is for this card. When I bought my camera, this was the only card available at the time of purchase. If I had to do it all over, I would buy faster CompactFlash memory.

Summary: STAY AWAY
Review: I lost over 300 excellent shots thanks to this card. I've tried everything -- the pictures come back corrupted every time. Sometimes it will be just a few pictures, other times it's the whole card. PNY Tech Support is absolutlely the worst I've ever experienced in my life. 2+ hour waits on hold to get hung up on. What good is a lifetime warranty if you can't get through to the company! Stay far away from all PNY products -- that's what I'm doing forever.

Review: I purchased a PNY 256 MB CF card in April of 2003, and it just stopped working, in December. I have tried to contact PNY for support, but their support people don't offer much help. They offer a lifetime warranty on their products, but tell me I have to return it at the place of purchase (I only have a 30 day return policy, and that has expired). Their support people have told me they do not offer picture recovery from bad CF cards, either. Lexar DOES. Guess whose CF cards I will be buying in the future...
In short, bad customer service and lousy support!

Review: I purchased one of these from Amazon about a year ago. A few months back my computer and camera are unable to read it. Lost pictures, not happy. I treated the card well and it rarely left the camera. I have yet to see if they will honor their warranty but I still wouldn't suggest this brand since reliability with something like this is of the upmost importance. It is also an extra big deal that I have to return it since I have personal photos on there that I do not want some guy at PNY looking at and showing around work and even possibly spreading all over the web. Finally, I doubt I need to mention how much it sucks to lose files and data. Big thumbs down for PNY from me. Will not buy from again.

Summary: It's All I Expected It To Be......
Review: I purchased one of these PNY 256 MB Compact Flash Cards about 6
months ago to use in an HP Jornada 525 Pocket PC. I have been using my 525 with this card installed every day. I have about 100 MB of MP3's loaded on the card and 50+ Megs of data. The card has
performed flawlessly. I purchased a card reader to transfer large
files between my main PC and the 525's PNY card (such as the MP3's) as my 525 uses a serial port for data transfer and is very slow. The transfer rate using a card reader is quite acceptable. This card has been very dependable. My 525 has been a real work horse that has been greatly enhansed using this card.
