Summary: Not recommended for Palm Devices
Review: As noted on several websites (with which I have no affiliation), SanDisk SD/MMC cards work slower than SimpleTech or Lexar when plugged into Palm Devices. This is especially true of writes on my Palm Tunsten T.Note that if you remove a SanDisk from a Palm and modify its contents thru an external SD "reader", you will see read/write performance that is similar to its competition. The problem appears to be unique to Palm devices, if you aren't using this for a Palm device, I am not aware of a reason to avoid this product.

Summary: Great size, great bargain.
Review: For a long time, MultiMediaCards (MMCs) were a tough sell against other formats such as CompactFlash & SmartMedia (and lately vs Sony Memory Sticks too), largely because they were offered in smaller memory capacities and always had a higher cost-per-meg than those formats. Now the SanDisk SD card (interchangeable with MMC cards), a format which has some distinct advantages over the other formats in terms of physical size, power use, write speed and memory protection, comes out at *less than* fifty cents per meg here in a giant size. This is long overdue and most welcome. SanDisk cards have been very reliable and until now have generally cost more than their competitors.

Summary: How many pictures will it store?
Review: How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.
The SanDisk 256MB Secure Digital Memory Card, like most 256MB cards, will store on average 284 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 213 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 128 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 102 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 80 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.
I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

Summary: Avoid this junk
Review: I also experienced the slowdown/stoppage problem, but managed to take about 50 photos at my birthday party with my Pentax Optio 555, which I had received the day before with the Sandisk 256mb SD card as a birthday present. The next morning, I tried to download the photos, but could not do so because the files were inaccessible. I tried downloading from two different card readers and from the camera itself, but no luck. The card had simply gone bad. Luckily, the card was purchased at a good camera store and they sent me a replacement within a few days. It's also a Sandisk, but I've got my fingers crossed. I'm obviously not a big fan of Sandisk, after having lost a lot of really good pictures that can't be re-created. Avoid Sandisk SD cards and buy either a Panasonic or a re-badged Panasonic under the Simpletech or Kodak brands.

Summary: Wont work with Kodak Digital Camera DX4330
Review: I bought a Kodak digital Camera (Easy Share DX4330) and I also bought a Scandisk card of 256MB. The problem is that after a take more than 7-8 minutes of video or the same space with photos; the camera stops taking video or photos and the camera also freezes for a while.
It shows on the screen this message (Unrecognized file format).
I know this card doesnt work and its corrupted.

Summary: Useless card for Dell Axim PDA
Review: I bought a new card and it failed in just a couple of days. From literature review it appears that this card has known issues with Axim PDA's and other devices. I contacted San Disk customer service and I am yet to hear from them. Stay away from this junk.

Review: I don't know what other people's having problem with.
I've used this Sandisk SD 256mb since last spring
and have taken about 4000 pictures without ANY problem.
I had no problem with this memory card at all.
It is one great memory card.

Summary: Sandisk 256mb with Kodak DX4330 ... works for me
Review: I found the Sandisk 256mb card on Amazon for $66 and FREE shipping ... it works quite well with my Kodak DX4330, not even a hiccup. I formatted it in the camera right out of the plastic case it comes with. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of five is that it is just a little itty bitty too slow in writing to it between pictures ... but a hell of a lot faster than a Compactflash or Smartmedia card. I mean I am really searching here to find a bad thing to say ... so there it is ... Including the memory on the camera (16mb) ... an equivalent of 9 1/2 rolls of film of storage at this cameras BEST setting ...for $66 ... Not too shabby

Review: I just happen to notice the poor rateings on this card since I've had no problems with mine thought I'd add my 2cents Mine says Tiawan on the back. the only thing I don't like is the lock card devise moves to easily and i have to be carefull installing it my camera so's not to accidently lock it
