Summary: Plug and Play on the Mac
Review: I just plugged it in and it simply worked -- both on my PowerBook 1400 running OS 8.6 (which exploits it as an extended memory hack) and on my Titanium PowerBook running OS 9 and OS X. I have iPhoto set NOT to launch when the card is inserted on the TiBook.

I gave 4 stars because it arrived quickly and did the job as advertised with no hassles. (To merit 5 stars, it should have had better documentation and a more detailed troubleshooting guide).

Summary: Truly plug and play...
Review: I plugged this adapter into my new Dell Laptop and it brought up my CompactFlash card as an additional hard drive in Windows 2000, no software or additional drivers required.

I was then able to browse and even edit pictures on the card as if it were a disk drive. Truly amazing. All peripherals should be this easy to install and intuitive to use.

Summary: Receive CompactFlash Adapter AND Modem ADAPTER
Review: I receive it instead the Flash Adapter only, and first didn't work. ...I fount that it MUST work, then I change the devices in win98 and voilah! A REMOVABLE HD WORKING!
It's AMAZING the speed of retrieval, we have a Canon PowerShot A5 and retrieve 60 photos in less than 1 secs (7 Mb) and the upload music delay 15 secs 60 megs.
You don't need to spent batteries, just plug it in you PCMCIA slot and win98 do the rest.
If you have troubles, try to remove the devices of pcmcia and let that windows recognize it again after that, it may work.

Summary: Works like a charm!
Review: I use a viking 128Mb CompactFlash card in my Canon S200 digital camera. Simply plugging the card into this reader and the reader into the PCMCIA slot on my Mac TiBook automatically launches iPhoto and imports the contents of the card into the laptop. Much faster and certainly more elegant than carrying around cables and using the camera battery. Highly recommended!

Summary: great price for performance
Review: I use it with my IBM Thinkpad to download pictures from a Nikon Coolpix 5000 with a 512MB CF card. This adapter works great. Plugged it in and WinXP automatically recognized it as E drive. This adapter worked in Win2000 and Win98 as well. Great price and buying it new is actually cheaper than used!

Summary: Very Handy For Notebook Users
Review: I use this as a bridge between my digital camera's CF card and my laptop. Its much faster than using the USB link that came with the camera and I don't have to fool with an external reader. Also, the internal adapter is cheaper than any external reader I have seen.

Only downside is that it can sometimes be slightly awkward popping the adapter out of the PC Card slot. This has been a very minor point for me.

Summary: No problems
Review: I use this product to move pictures from my camera to my computer. My primary purpose was to save my battery since it requires my camera to be on when downloading shots and I have a 256MB Compact Flash card.

Not only does it save my battery power by allowing me to put the CF card into my computer, but it downloads very quickly. I have had no problems with the unit and received the adapter from Viking earlier than I expected.

Summary: It's cheap, it works, it's fast, and it's easy
Review: I wasn't sure whether to get this or not -- I was afraid it would be hard to install. It couldn't have been simpler. I'm running an XP machine, and there was nothing to install at all -- it did it all automatically.
1)I slid the adapter into the PCMCIA slot.
2)I slid the flash card into the adaptor.
3)The system popped up a message that said something like "it looks as if you have photos. Do you want to copy them?"
4) I clicked on 'yes'.
5) The photos all copied onto my C drive.

There are three big advantages to this. First, you don't have to find the cable to attach your camera to the computer. Second, you don't use up your camera battery while doing the transfer. Third, the transfer speed is much much quicker.

Summary: good to trick the NT system
Review: If you have a laptop with windows NT - this is the way to go. Since NT will not support various external file transfer - this is the easiest way to transfer your file and it is fast. I use it all the time

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: a must for notebook user
Review: If you have CF Card and a notebook computer, this is must to own.....(plug and play in Win2K and WinXP)
