Summary: a very good performer overall
Review: I purchased this radio a few months ago and found it to be very good overall. The radio reception is very good on both AM and FM, although sometimes it picks up some interference from strong local FM stations but very little if any. It can still pick up distant stations very well. I found the sound quality to be very good. It has good clarity though it's not heavy on bass but that's to be expected from a radio this size. Sound quality on the cassette player was also very good, especially for a non-stereo player. The light on the top shows that power is on and also shows battery strength- when it gets dim the batteries are running low. There's also a built-in mic next to the speaker so you can record voice also. This can come in handy because it is almost impossible to find this feature on many larger boomboxes, especially those with a CD player. The only thing I didn't like was that the battery life could be a little better. When the batteries barely work in this tape recorder they still work in my older one (same type of radio but different brand). Also since it takes 4 D batteries it can be rather bulky to carry around. Overall I would highly recommend this radio. If you're looking for a small boombox for the kitchen or office and don't want to spend a lot, this is a very good choice.
