Summary: My workhorse
Review: I own five CFDGT50 and am buying more. I check them out to folks at a university AV shop. They have a strong amp, good tone, and we have not had one damaged in any way in 18 months use. The metal speaker grills and sturdy case help. The only thing I don't like is there's no built-in mic, but there is a line-in jack.

Summary: This thing is great, it's one of a kind!
Review: I've got a few boomboxes, including this one for almost a year. First off, the radio. The presets and digital part is nice. Don't you hate when you run across a good song you haven't heard in a long time, and, it's in, ppfffwwwwwwww, static, tune a little left, to the right, play with the antenna, pfffwwwwhhhh, you tune in, the song ends? The CD player has got a cool feature I've NEVER seen: Loop, which plays about one note over and over. It's the only way I know to make Steven Tyler sound like a motorboat on command. The random play is good too. It almost makes you forget the 15 or so year old line of cheapies (when I was "really" little) where you couldn't even fast forward or rewind a song. The tape deck is simple but it records wonderfully. I make a lot of mix tapes, from CDs and other casettes. The instructions say not to record on Type II/High Bias/CrO2 (the more expensive) tapes, but they don't know! (If you're taping over something it won't totally erase, but enough. The sound will be a little lower than normal tapes and tons lower than the radio, but clearer. I like the big sound adjustment and some bass, but don't need this much. I recently had a few of my "Raphead" friends visiting who used this. I thought the whole townhouse complex was gonna wake up! Oh well, I still like 'em. I saved the best for last; the Line In jack. It even doubles as a microphone. Both of these features today seem just about as common as George Foreman's creative baby names. Oh, did I mention the remote!? I recommend it. Ciao.

Summary: It's A Boombox! Not High-End Electronics!
Review: Please excuse the reviewer who totally trashed the Sony CFDGT50. Believe it or not pal, there are many boomboxes that aren't even in the same league as this one.

I found the FM to sound very pleasing. And the CD section was even better. Never used the cassette, so I can not comment. Remote control was a nice extra. All in all I am very satisfied with this model. The subwoofer added to the listening experiance. This is the perfect boombox for where you want to have music, like in the kitchen, garage or kids room. It's not high fidelity, but it was never meant to be. It's just a good boombox. Period.

Summary: not only is it ugly.....
Review: this is so expensive, ugly, and has poor sound quality. but wait! it has worse sound, which i can make by putting a bird in the microwave when the base boost is on. don't worry though, you don't get to here it much, because if it moves, it skips or resets. i think this is caused by the earth's consant movement, but i'm still looking into it. Might i add that the bass is great, it destorts the sound so much, but some people might like that....

Summary: Above And Beyond
Review: To those who speak ill of this portable, all I can say is...get a mini-system instead, because if THIS doesn't satisfy you, then NO portable will. I have only seen THREE portables with a subwoofer...this, the GT30 (has no remote) and it's higher-model relation; and they do not just have a subwoofer; it's a POWER-DRIVEN woofer with it's own amplifier. The result? The thing sounds almost as good as a bookshelf system! You get rich bass and a clarity of sound that goes above and beyond what you expect from a portable
