Summary: The Trojan Horse of all boomboxes
Review: Sony has scored a big hit with this boombox. Unless much of the useless and rather flimsy units that they produce, this boombox is unique in its sturdyness and sound quality. At first you will think that the unit is overpriced and underfeatured. Nevertheless, that is the key to its quality. Much of your money will go to an excellent amp section which is coupled with two 3.5" woofers...whose bass is amazing. Amazing bass from 3.5"? The woofers are coupled with a passive radiator or passive woofer which must be something like 5" in the back. Wow, when you turn the unit, its sound clarity and impact hits you hard and fast. Perhaps is the size of the sound that comes from such a small unit or its sheer dynamism....I am not exaggerating, for I have a stereo system which is all tubed and my speakers alone can buy 35 of these Sony boxes. You ought to give this little dynamo a listen. I have heard and had some other boomboxes, which at the time I thought were excellent, but nothing hold a match to this boombox. Do not miss it.
