Summary: Broke after warranty expired
Review: After 6 months of light use in which it sat on a shelf and never was moved, one day the CD player suddenly quit playing a CD and displayed "no disk." I tried several different CDs and got the same error message with each one. Immediately checked the warranty paper and discovered it was warrantied for 90 days. Not very happy about having to buy a new one. My last one was Aiwa and while the speakers were too tinny, it lasted for about 7 years before the CD player broke.

Summary: Won't play cd's after four months of use
Review: I have only had this item for about four months-- just past the waranty date. The cd player on it just stopped working a couple weeks ago. I have tried different cd's, cleaning, etc. It continues to display "no disk" and plays nothing. I am now searching the reviews to purchase a new cd player.

Summary: Pure JUNK!
Review: I purchased one of these thinking it would be a great gift for my niece. She loves listening to music while she is playing. I wanted something portable, around US$60-$80 and adequate sound quality. I believed I had found it in this product. Once I got it I immediately tried it out and found that although the radio had good reception and the remote control was better than expected, this unit could not read ANY CD I attempted. It would try to read and respond with NO DISK. I was a bit angry, but not willing to give up just yet. I returned the item to get an identical one. My second one had the exact same issue! Sony used to be a great consumer electronics company, but their current manufacturing only produces junk like this boombox. I have a two Sony TVs, both great. Two Sony DVD players, both exceptional (however the most recent purchase died after 60 days, but the Sony replacement has worked great in the last 18 months), and another Sony boombox (which was junk, that is why I was going to purchase this item). I have witnessed a slow but sure downward spiral of quality in items produced for Sony. I believe this is my final Sony product. Now I have to find a similiar item here in Amazon.com that I will purchase. Thanks in advance for your reviews that you may post, I use them to guide many of my purchases!
