Rating: Summary: Dissapointed!!! No support for CD-Rs Review: I guess this is a Philips thing, but in spite of the proclaimed CD-Rewritable compatibility, this boombox does NOT play CD-Rs. I am returning it... I apologize if my other review lead you into buying it, unless you don't mind this "detail".
Rating: Summary: Great sound, good deal Review: I was looking for an inexpensive way to listen to my CDs at work, w/o tying up my computer's resources (not the most efficient machine at playing music and letting you work w/o a sure crash around the corner!) Did some research and ended up settling for this one. With a bass reflex speaker system, it has very good bass and the high frequencies are pretty crisp too, so overall the sound is very good. You also get to be able to play burned CDs, which is very important these days, but best of all: you get all this for a very reasonable price, perhaps among the best bangs for your buck in this category these days. Highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Uh oh! Review: This was a nice little CD player at first. Fairly inexpensive, small, and kind of cute. I've only had it since September. I haven't dropped it or anything but the CD part stopped working altogether. Supposedly I can't return it anymore so, I don't know what to do with it. I'm really upset, Phillips is usually a VERY good brand.
