Summary: Great bang for the buck!
Review: The "10 year old reviewer" obviously has little experience with heavy-duty editing hardware, as his comment that "Ultra2 is uncommon" couldn't be further from the mark.

To find a SINGLE PCI card that offers both two firewire ports AND Ultra 2 Wide SCSI, running at 80MB/sec, is quite rare.

The low price makes it just that much better. Any home user looking to get into real editing should consider this card along with one or two 10,000 RPM SCSI drives. They will provide a dramatic reduction to your capture and edit times. I am simply on the lookout for a low-cost firewire card as I already have a very nice SCSI setup. However, most home users probably haven't used SCSI; if they are working with digital video and firewire cameras, they should consider it. If you have the money to own a nice firewire camera, you can probably afford (and appreciate) the added speed that a SCSI editing rig can give you. Try this card out!

Summary: Review Time
Review: This card runs at blazing speeds but Ultra2 Wide is soooooooo uncommon. Firewire is a very fast transfer protocal. It is less common than USB but a tiny bit slower than USB 2.0. You should go for a regular Firewire card, but if you do use Ultra2 Wide you should pick this card. The last point I want to add is that this card is very, very expensive. Overall, you should try a different card with just Firewire.
