Summary: Don't buy this for Win98
Review: I suspect this product cannot be made to work for Win98 first edition. I've tried every set of drivers DLINK has recommended including the ones for Win98 first edition located on their FTP server. I'd give the product more stars if they stopped advertising that it works with Win98. I'm not the only Win98 customer that has complained about this.

Summary: Easy to set-up and use.
Review: I was saving video to my hard drive and editing it 45 minutes after popping open the box on this card. The card comes with a 6 to 4 pin Firewire cable, so no need to purchase one seperately (like I did not knowing that). Manual is fine. Installation was easy (I have installed cards before though - not sure how easy the installation would be for someone who has never opened their computer's case before). Software that comes with it did not work on Windows ME for me (even though the software's site says no problems are reported), but I'm using Windows Movie Maker and that's working fine for now.

As their reputation for reliable products grew, so did my trust, and I started to buy their products regardless of price. As such, when I needed a Firewire card, I went with D-Link because of their reputation for reliability. As far as I'm concerned, the best support advice I can give you is to check for compatibility before you purchase. If you are running a version of Windows that is not listed in the description, check with D-Link's website in advace to see if they have an updated driver. If you can't find the driver before the purchase, look for another card. In my case, the card was directly supported by my version of Windows, so there was no trouble getting it to run. It used the built-in Microsoft driver.

Summary: didn't work under windows 2000
Review: Installations did not go as the instructions dictated. IT didn't work with my western digital firewire drive. I have emailed their support and waited on phone hold. They never emailed me back and I got sick of being on hold.

Summary: Easy as Pie
Review: It wasn't very hard to install this card. Actually it was very simple. It is just like most other PCI cards. Just open up your case insert it into a free PCI slot and close the case back up. Then when you reboot your computer just install the drivers from the software D-Link gives you. BOTTOMLINE: Everything worked fine and I am now able to edit my digital video fater than ever with this new firewire access.

Review: It's good and easy to set up for windows 98 SE.
On the manual, it said that this card only connect for 63 digital devices. And on the list i can't find my digital camcorder(Sharp VLWD450U). But it still works cool and easy to transfer my video to the computer.
The software is a little bug. When i want to transfer from avi to rm, it didn't work. I think may because the software is ulead version 4.0.
Also, it includes the IEEE1394 cable, cool!

Review: Just perfect for my need.It's not only affordable but also useful like those expensive ones.When it arrived, I easily installed it myself even though I don't know about computer hardwares.No problem with the software, windows xp captures it.

Review: No problem, just plug and play, no drivers, no crashes. And it includes a firewire cable!. Excelent for Premiere, Ulead and Avid DV Xpress. Why pay more?

Summary: Works Perfectly Under XP
Review: Plugged the card in and XP did the rest. I connect a Canon ZR25 camcorder to the firewire and works perfectly. The card is definitely OHCI compliant which is required for video editing software.
