Summary: Visiontek 9100 128mb
Review: Hey just wanted to say this is a great lowend graphics card. With integrated graphic(64mb) I got 1500 on 3dmark01 now with the Visiontek I can get close to 7500. Also this card overclocks really well as i am running it at 277/266mhz compared to the stock 250. Overall for a pci card this is a great deal i bought mine online at tigerdirect.com and paid 70 plus there was a 20 rebate so it was only 50 +sh. Also get rage3d tweak to overclock and use the different profiles for your games. In terms of sound, it is a little loud and is audible over game sound but is otherwise a great pci card. This card rocks.

Summary: Don't Buy this Card
Review: I bought this card in 2003. It has given me a lot of grief:

1) It hangs up continually on Autocad & Adobe Photoshop
2) Not suitable for intense gaming (Flight Simulator 2002. Won't work well with FS2004).
3) The 2nd output at the back is digital flat panel only. For all my games and Graphics, I need two monitors (CRT's, not flat panel).

Pass this one by. Don't buy anything from Leadtek.

Buy an ATI 9700 XT - the best value for money.

Summary: Mixed review
Review: I drove to Fry's electronics in July 2003, to buy a Visiontek Xtasy 9100 128MB PCI video card for my low-end Dell Dimension 2350, which has no AGP slots. (I didn't want to wait days to get the card if I ordered online). ... Then I drove home and noticed a sticker on the box that said something to the effect that this card was "repackaged". I guess that meant someone had returned it. I was tempted to drive back and exchange it for a new one, (unless they ALL were repackaged) for another lousy five dollars, but I didn't.

The problem I have, started after installing this card, which is that occasionally on the internet, and more frequently when playing computer games, the monitor will suddenly go completely black for about 2 seconds, then come back. I don't know if this particular video card was returned to Fry's because it did this to someone else, was not repaired, and was repackaged and re-shelved, or if there is another reason, such as my Dell's power supply is a little less than what this video card says it should have.

The problem of blacking out occasionally does not rise to the level where I feel I need to return the card to Fry's, or to Visiontek, so I'm going to live with it.

Considering that my Dell 2350 (minus monitor) only cost $500, and this card was $125, I'm going to have to not recommend this card, unless you are a serious computer game player. But if you ARE a serious game player, don't get a 2350 or 2400 to begin with.

I noticed that this Visiontek card DID play my SereneScene (.com) fish screen saver (the same one shown on the plasma tv on the TV show "Big Brother") at a higher fps (frames per second) rate, 60, (noticeably less jerky) than the Dell integrated video did, that the computer came with. And the video card enabled playing the great computer generated demo videos I downloaded from the ATI.com website. I'm guessing that the card enabled playing games that demand DirectX 8.1, but I never tried those games before I installed the Visiontek card.

But even using the DVI output (as opposed to the previous analog output/input), on the Visiontek 9100, to the DVI input on my Dell 1800fp LCD monitor, I noticed no improvement in video quality for web surfing, or even when playing my Faith Hill :) DVD.

Again--for gamers, yes, get the card, but examine the box at the store carefully, or read reviews of online sellers. There seems to be a significant number of online sellers selling used or returned electronics withour specifing that the items ARE such. For non-gamers, I do not reccommend the expense of this Visiontek Xtasy 9100 128MB PCI graphics card.

Summary: Best PCI card out on the market!
Review: I purchased this card for a firends computer which came with no available AGP slots (HP computer). After doing research and comparing video cards, this came up to be the fastest espically for the price, some benchmarks scored the 5200 fx pci a little higher (most were dead even if not the radeon pulling the lead) but this card will save you 40-50 dollars! The card is really impressive considering the PCI interface. The system i installed the video card into was a Athlon 1400 Thunderbird with 384mb sd-ram; the system played HALO PC just fine at 800x600 with all high settings on multiplayer, Unreal 2 the awakening played perfect at 800x600, Warcraft Frozen throne was able to play perfect all maxed out. When I say pefect I mean 30 Plus frame rates, remember this card isnt a 400 dollar radeon 9800, but it will definately let you enjoy games. Also, if anyone is deciding between this and a geforce 4 mx440 pci, please go with the radeon, it is directx8 compliant, and geforce4mx is not, also most of the geforce pci cards come with SD-ram and not ddr. I was able to purchase this card for under 50 dollars with shipping! A quick FYI, the 9000, and 9100 outperform the 9200!

Review: im a gamer and i bought this item thinking 128mb wow nice. ill get 100 Frams per second now...not even close i get 70 and that drops to 30...(with vsynyc on) if i turn vsync off then sure ill get 99 if i dont see anything or no one fires but if im in a "battle" then my fps drop to 30 again. I know this card is pci but still i dont have an agp port so what can i do besides pretty much rebuilding a new computer. i thought this would be a good replacment that might at least get me constent 60..this card sucks dont buy it. + its really loud.

Summary: Great Card, especially for PCI w/onboard AGP
Review: Like others I have a Dell 2350 w/AGP. Totally unsuitable for games. After researching PCI cards I bought the VisionTek 9100 w/128 megs. I haven't benchmarked it yet, but it is great. It plays all of my son's 3D games and the performance is great. Good buy for $60. I also have 512 megs of Ram in the 2350 and keep it well tuned. I liked the Xtasy 9100 so much also I bought the AGP version for my Dell XPS 650r. It gave me 100% improvement over a TNT 32 meg card. This is a Pentium III system with 256 megs of RAM. Again, this was $60. GO FOR IT!! See you in Clontarf (1014)!!!

Review: Some people who wrote previous reviews don't seem to grasp the concept of the framerate of their games being determined by their overall system performance, not just the video card itself. Did you guys ever stop to think that your processor is bottlenecking the performance of your video card? How about the speed of and amount of RAM you have in your system? Did you ever think that correctly installing the drivers for your motherboard and video card could cure your blue screen woes? Sometimes computer problems start between the keyboard and the chair... if you take the time to research how video cards, motherboards, and computers in general work, perhaps you would not have so many problems. Not to mention that this IS only a PCI card... you can't expect a world of performance to come from a video card that's limited by the bandwidth of the PCI bus.

Review: the video quality is good.but after about 2 months the cooling fan was very noisy.also with the via 400 chip it is known that ati cards may have driver problems.i have a albatron board.and get blue screens alot.better visual than a geforce fx 5200.but not worth the hassle to constantly have to put up with.buy a nvidia chipset card drivers are more reliable.I am going for a fx 5600 ultra.
