Summary: WOW!!
Review: I own a voodoo 5500, GeForce 2 GTS, and now I own the most amazing card Ive ever come across, the VisionTek geforce 3. Dont read about it go and get it, the reviews dont do it justice, the framerates at high resolution are amazing, and its AA is far better than its predecessors. It makes the current games look awesome. Its actual in game picture better than any screenshot or demo could show you. Its worth the money...!!

Summary: Breathtaking performance
Review: I recently purchased a Hercules Prophet 4500, great card for the money, and was enjoying it. But I soon realized that I was going to have to upgrade in only a year or so because of its lack of features. So I went looking for a higher end card. I was considering a GeForce 2 GTS, and was preparing to purchase one when my dear dear grandmother sent me 600 dollars, that I was quote, "To spend on a present". So I suddenly found myself with the means to buy a GeForce 3. I bought the card ... a week ago, and havnt left my computer since. The difference is amazing, this cards performance is unparrelelled. When I used to get 20 fps in Tribes 2, I now get 80, that is outside with everything turned up, and people fighting all over the screen. My 3d Marks 2001 score jumped from 1500, to 5025. And it wont be long til games that utilize pixel shaders are released, Unreal 2 for example. All I can say is, is that if you are considering this card, BUY IT, and you will be amazed too.

Summary: Good for games - but some fonts unreadable
Review: I upgraded from a GeForce 2 to a GeForce 3. The increase in performance was amazing. As far as speed is concerned, I have no complaints.

However, some fonts (mostly smaller fonts, such as help text and some smaller browser fonts) are unreadable.

Summary: Mind blowing technology, if you can afford it
Review: It's not hard to gape in wonder as you watch a scene rendered in real-time that looks like a video broadcast. Such is the power of Nvidia's latest chipset, the GeForce 3 (NV20). The draw-dropping scene in question is from Mad Onion's 3D Mark 2001 benchmarking tool. The GeForce 3 takes full advantage of Microsoft's Direct X 8.0 programming API. This, unfortunately, is its weakness, as there currently are no DX-8 optimized games on the market that take advantage of this card's impressive features. In fact, the only way to see these features in action now is to either run 3D Mark 2001, or install the Nvidia technology demos that ship with the card.

However, if you can afford the card, it is worth the price. The GeForce 2 Ultra is still a good choice if money is tight. You will definitely benefit from increased performance right out of the box, especially when running at high resolutions. If anything, you can get it for the bragging rights.

Summary: Not worth it as of October 24th, 2001
Review: Right now, and from this day forward, it is absolutely pointless to get a GeForce 3... it is a great card, but even at amazon, the price is too high! How does Visiontec expect us to all be rich?! I here am not poor nor rich, so i have to choose a card that is good and has a good price! For this, i want the new ATI Radeon 8500. It has 4 times the processing power of a GeForce 3! It has outrun the GeForce 3 in every test it's been through! So dont waste your time with the GeForce 3. Get the ATI Radeon 8500 instead!

Summary: Kickass card
Review: Well I juts got my Geforce3 to replace a Voodoo5 5500 I had and have to say that this is 1 impressive card. I had it one day so haven't did alot of testing on it but got around 4500 3DMark 2001 points which is awesome considering my system is not running overclocked and also running only at a 100 mhz bus speed and running a VIA chipset.

The card also seems to have no problems at all running in 4X AGP mode on my VIA motherboard which is also a plus since alot of cards seem to have issues in 4X mode.

I must also say that the FSAA quality on this card blow away all other cards except the Voodoo5, but the FSAA speed is about 3X the speed of the Voodoo5...which is amazing.

Heck I even ran Quake3 at 1600x1200 resolution with max graphics and got round 80 fps, which means you could use 2X FSAA in 1600x1200 and still get acceptable framerates....This is simple amazing!!!!

This has been my first Nvidia card and so far I'm extremely happy and it ran every game I threw at it in the 1 day or testing.

If you have anything lower than a GF2 Ultra and have 400 bucks to spend, you wont be disappointed, and just wait till some of the DX8 games come out. They will look amazing!

The only minor downside is that my Voodoo5 did handle 16bit alittle better graphically, but with all the speed of the GF3, why would you run in 16bit anyhow? Unless ofcourse your stuck in 16bit mode like Counterstrike....But the 16bit on this card does seem alittle better then the Radeon and even the Geforce2...perhaps they improved the 16 bit filtering somewhat..I'm not sure....

That being said the Geforce3 a leap forward in GPU's and the more people that buys these cards, the more games will use the awesome features these cards are capable of.

Check out the Chameleon demo when yours arrives...Simple awesome, just image those effects in a game.....

Summary: Talk About Eye Candy!!!!
Review: Well! talk about eye candy, this is it! I love this card it has taken my gaming to newer hights. I had a TNT2 m64 32MB card before I picked up the GeForce3 and let me tell you this, the difference is amazing. I play FA3 Beta, and the colors, textures and terrain look so more realalistic and brighter than before. The GeForce3 is a great product, and I highly recommend it!

COOL BEANS!

Summary: Yes it's the best on Earth, but it's also MADE IN AMERICA!
Review: You know the facts, you've seen the 3dmark2001 scores that prove the power and speed of the Geforce3 chipset. You can look at the Quicunx FSAA and it's almost as good as the Voodoo5 5500's 4x4. And it's so much faster that finally you can toss the 3dfx part out.

What suprised me and geniunely made my heart flutter with joy is the fact that the Visiontek card is assembled in the USA. Not Taiwan, Malasia, Mexico (God bless'em) and best of all not made in a slave camp in communist China.

The TV/S video out is a nice additition also if you have a humongous big screen tv.

Another thing to consider. There are outlets still charging just as much for the older, slightly less grunty Gefroce2 Ultra boards. So for the same money you can have all that DX8 goodness and real FSAA that works right in all your games and a boatload of framrate. Buy two and give one to a friend. A really good friend!
