Summary: Can't beat it for the price
Review: I have a compaq 5bw250 and this card is a great upgrade for it. The new mellenium driver gives this card a boost and auto recognizes the adapter immediately. The software gives enough configuration changes. It is almost useless to get a geforce configured board for PCI because it does not carry enough band width. This and the Voodoo cards are the best for PCI. I have had no problems playing any games like quake III or enemy engaged (Commanche vs. Hokum). Great Card!

Summary: card is good but beware
Review: i just recently bought this card because it was a decent pci card for a good price. i figured it would work pretty well and it did. one problem however i noticed is the when you install the driver cd, it says that there is no card installed. this may be a minor problem but it still concers me.for [more] you can get a voodoo 4 4500 pci. this is a great card that out preforms the cougar. also in another review i noticed that the cougar card does not work with a 810e chipset. i havenr seen major problems yet but im not gonna wait and find out. if you have a 810e chip set you would be better off with a voodoo or an nvidia geforce 256

Summary: the best pci card I ever seen

Summary: Very poor card
Review: I thought that I would warn people about this card. You would think that a 32meg card would generally give good performance, but it doesn't in this case. I have 2 8meg voodoo2 cards running together and they give much better performance than this card. Being an older chipset and only 16meg it still runs circles around this card. The card is a dog. If you need a PCI card at a reasonable price buy the voodoo3 2000 or 3000.

Review: I've seen some pretty good reviews on this product and so I won't argue that this can be a good graphics card. After all, it runs a Nvidia chipset! But when its inserted into a Compaq Presario 75xx with a 810e chipset intergrated onto the motherboard, it becomes a total nightmare. I finally returned it after 28 days after working with tech support from both Compaq and Guillemot and having no resolve. Now my computer seems to have developed some sort of video brain damage with which I'm hoping to cure with a card using the same Nvidia chipset but by another manufacturer whom I've used before with complete satisfaction. I then learned that two other people also had to return the same cards to the same store where I was returning mine for simular reasons. Considering the reviews I've seen for this card have been quite good, I would assume that this problem is probally exclusive to the 810e intergrated chipset. So in the end I still give it 3 stars based on its reputation so that I do not mar its good name with what may be an isolated problem. But you may want to use caution if you plan to install this on anything that has an intergrated graphics card.
