Rating: Summary: Slower than Voodoo3 2000 and most expensive !!! Review: All you gyes that bought this card made a BIG mistake. BIG around $100 :-(.WHY ? This board does not support GLIDE. Now some gyes will replay - None of the newest games support GLIDE, and they will be WRONG. WHY ? Because there's a thing called Voodoo Open GL, and this thing enables the GLIDE support for all OpenGL games (most of the games supports OpenGL - Quake, Unreal, KingPin, Half-Life ...). I personaly made some tests and I can tell you - under Voodoo Open GL, Voodoo 3 is much faster than TNT2 Ultra (10-frames faster). Hey gyes, but TNT2Ultra costs $200 copmared to Voodoo3 2000 which costs $100. About 32-bit colors rendering - I've looked on some KingPin's screenshots on TNT2 and on Voodoo3 and they looked exactly the same (but under Voodoo3's OpenGL KingPin worked with 10-frames higher than TNT2Ultra). Conclusion : Voodoo still rules!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: This antiquated card as a gold box??? Review: Amazon has the audacity to hawk this as a "gold box" bargain for [money amount]on 01/29/03. This was a good graphics chip in 1998. Worth about [money amount]today for a basic system. Since this card, we've seen the TNT Ultra, then the Geforce, Geforce DDR, Geforce 2, Geforce 3, Geforce 4 and now Geforce 5 subsequent generations of cards. Bottom line? It's grossly inadequate for any newer games. Let the buyer beware!!

Rating: Summary: No Glide! Review: Everyone keeps neglecting to mention that the Diamond Viper V770 has no glide support! You should still look at adding a VooDoo 2 (add-on) 12 Mb 3d card!! This V770 kicks, but I always disliked the fact it can't play a game like Final Fantasy 7
Rating: Summary: Classic Card Review: First off this card is old. I bought one of these in '98 I believe, shortly after I bought a brand new PII 450 system. It has served me well to this day. In fact right now we are playing No One Lives Forever on it without much trouble. One thing I didn't like about the card was that the fan began to make too much noise after about 18 months. The RMA process wasn't too painful but the new card started having the same problem 4 months later. At this time Diamond was no longer in business and I could not get another RMA. On there web site they suggested removing the fan and cleaning it which I did and still do occasionaly as the noise always comes back after a few months. Other than the lame fans, this is a very good TNT2 card. Considering cards using this chip are dirt cheap just about anyplace you look and they pack enough 3D power to play all the classics, I would not have a problem putting one in a budget system with basic 3D requirements. Say a Celeron or Duron 1 gig for the kids Disney games and your System shock, King Pin, Half Life, Unreal Tournament, etc..
Rating: Summary: Don't buy this!!! Card is four years old Review: Geezus, where did they find this one? Diamond isn't even an independent company anymore. The Viper V770 Ultra was based off of the nVidia Riva TNT Ultra chipset, this chipset was used before the original GeForce came out. They are now way beyond this chipset. I don't know any reason why anyone would want to buy this very old card.

Rating: Summary: What an Awesome Card! Review: I bought a Vodoo3 card and the wacked thing crashed my system! I returned it and bought the Viper, well I tell you I love it! The graphics are so realistic with this card. Much better than the Vodoo3 and it did not crash my system!
Rating: Summary: Diamond Viper Video Card Review: I bought this card back in 1999 for my gaming system running Windows 95. At the time it was a very good card for the price I paid. I still use the card on my system running Windows 98, which I just upgrade to Windows 2000...Diamond is now Digital Networks North America, Inc. and no longer supports this video card, so don't expect the new Windows systems to support this card.
