Summary: The best videocard ever made
Review: Diamond really hit the motherlode with their Diamond Viper V770 videocard range. I have the 16MB version, and it is one of the best videocards I've ever bought. So the quality of the Ultra TNT2 cards must be absolutely terrifying.

This card has absolutely outstanding performance in both 2D/3D applications. I especially noticed the difference when playing Outcast. This is a game that uses 2D voxel-rendered graphics. The change in game performance while using the Viper V770 was stunning.

Another major plus is playing 3D-accelerated games in 1024x768. Playing Unreal at this resolution was truly awesome. The only minor downside was the gamma correction, which was darker than my previous videocard. However, you can use Diamond's handy software utilities to easily rectify this problem - it took me about five minutes.

In summary, if you can't afford the new GeForce 256 cards (which Diamond chose not to use - an unwise choice, considering), I strongly reccommend buying the Viper V770. Of all the videocards fitted with the RivaTNT2, this is the best of the bunch. And quite possibly the best videocard ever made.

Summary: Buy another card!
Review: I bought this card and was sorry I did. Out of the 5 games I had requiring 3D acceleration, it was only compatible with 2. Diamond is going away, so good luck getting tech support. I suggest you buy any other NDIVIA graphics card.

Summary: Best card for the money and then some!
Review: I don't own this card, but i have seen it. Compared to my Stealth III S540 (nother great card) I'd have to say that it out accelerates my friends Voodoo3 3000 and out performs it. It is also more stable then the Voodoo3 is when 3D games like Quake II for an extended amount of time. I think the only 2 cards that out accelerate it are the V770 Ultra and the Viper II card.

Summary: Most awesome gaming card I have ever tried. I love it!
Review: I got the V770 to replace an aging Creative TNT video card with 8mb of video memory. The Diamond card blew my mind with its performance! Using my slower, Celeron-based system, the Diamond V770 cranked out very impressive frame rates in Falcon 4.0, which is my mainstay in computer gaming. A superb card, very simple installation, and a great price make this a perfect card for someone wanting performance without extra features found in some other, more expensive cards. Outstanding!

Summary: Most awesome gaming card I have ever tried. I love it!
Review: In a series of bad hardware purchases, I had the opportunity to try several video cards in my gaming system. Among these were the 3DFX Voodoo3 3000, the Diamond Monster Fusion, and the Diamond Viper V770. Of all the cards I have ever had, and I've had quite a few in my quest for gaming supremacy, the most unstable card was the Voodoo3 3000. Horrible board... made me sick. The Diamond Monster Fusion wasn't too bad, but lacked support for some video modes and was weak in throughput. But, just when I was about to give up on the new generation of video boards, I stumbled upon the Diamond Viper V770, WOW! This card is, by far, the most stable, versatile, smoothest/fastest card I have ever tried. Albeit, it gives it's best performance in 4x AGP/32-bit mode on a suitable Mainboard, it wasn't bad in 2x either. If you are a die-hard gamer, who wants massively huge resolutions, and awe-inspiring paletes in beautiful 32 bit color with flicker-free refresh rates in the triple digits, then this is the card for you! I strongly recommend it.

Summary: I don't care what people say.
Review: The Diamond Viper HAS been and WILL always be about the best if not THE best card on the market. I have had a V330, 550, and now have a 770. That benchmark they did is wrong. On my Dual 400 with 512 RAM, I get 74FPS in Quake 2. On my 400 with 128 RAM I get about 58FPS. Get a Viper 770 Ultra and let me kick your a** in Quake. THIS IS THE BEST CARD ON THE MARKET THAT IS < or = to 32 megs.

Summary: poor driver support in W2K
Review: The shipping driver for W2K does not support hardware acceleration. NVidia has a beta driver, but it is really buggy, and Diamond/S3 has not announced any plans for their own driver.

If you need hardware acceleration in Windows 2000, this is not the card for you!
