Summary: Best card for gamers on a budget.
Review: Can't afford that Radeon 9700 Pro9($...-ish), but want to feel the DirectX 9 love? This is hands down the card for you. This card was created to compete directly with NVidia's Geforce4 Ti4200($...-ish), but with full Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering this card will even beat the Ti4600($...-ish).

This card has everything the Radeon 9700 Pro has, just in smaller quantities. You still get 6x Anti Aliasing(Which the new GeForce 5 will beat with 8x) and you get 16x Anisotropic filtering(The GeForce 5 gets only 8x for that). The card supports an 8x AGP interface, but if you have that you probably have the extra cash to pick up the 9700 Pro.

Running the game on a 1.8ghz AMD system with 512megs of PC2100 I get a 10,350 3dMark2001 SE score. Running games like Unreal Tournament 2003 with 1024x786 resolution, 6x Anti Aliasing, and 16x Anisotropic Filtering, I get around 50-70 Frames Per Second depending on the level and number of opponents. Games like Battlefield 1942 and Jedi Outcast run equally as well if not better.

Also, this card is compatible with DirectX9 which means when Doom 3 rolls around you'll be ready, and capable of running it at full graphics at what should be a very smooth framerate.

Considering you can get this card for $... if you look, this is something you should not be without if you want high end gaming, with out high end money spending. Get this card if you're on the market for new graphics card, it's more than worth it.

Summary: Beyond Incredible, Excellent.
Review: Finnally I backed up my words and got a new video card. A very special one indeed ;-). MAN is it woopin fast that's all I gotta say. It defenitley beat out my ol' geforce 2:). And includes support for pure hw t & L, pixel shading version 1.4, vertex shading 1.4, and all kinds of other effects. Beat out my geforce 2 so bad it makes it look like a dust mite compared to a table.(well that is using a bit of sarcasim, but close to there.)Anyway, I scored at a 1024x768 res, 32-bit color, 2x aa, all other settings maxed in 3dmark2001se benchmark with directx8.1 a 8504 score. Damn good! when I turned off 2x aa it boosted pu to 9505. DAMN INCREDIBLE! I love this card. Has some rendering errors in older half-life engine used games, is a bit slower in older games such as rayman 2, but is defineteley worth it. And much more. I got about at all settings maxed in unreal gold, opengl, 160fps avg. in d3d I got about 137fps avg.(1600x1200x32, high world/skin detail, etc.). And much more. All I gotta say is this card is worth the money, espcially since it's directx9.0 fully compatible. It ain't much different from the 9700 pro, only difference is the 9700 pro has faster memory clock speed/engine clock speed by 100mhz, and a 256-bit memory interface and the 9500 pro has a 128-bit memory interface. Besides that, they are pratically the same. 100$ more for the 9700 pro certainly is a rip off. The 9500 pro isn't the fastest card you can get around with beyond beyond incredible visuals at the same time, but is an excellent card indeed. More than worth a 3-D hardcore gamer's purchase :) I recommend it :)

This card blows all away Geforce 4
You can expect a very high level of performance and an excellent set of features to date, you play all games in 1600x1200x32 without a doubt and you are able to play the games with features like 6X AA and 16x Anisotropic filtering while maintaining very reasonable framerates in 1024x1024x32. Everything was 100% stable and the games I tested did not have any issues.

Summary: Geforce 4 TI 4200 killer!
Review: Probably the best bang for the buck of any gaming chip out there as of 10/03, especially if you plan on using it with all the features turned on. nVida GF4 Ti4600 will beat it with AA turned off but you'll also be paying more for less
I had a geforce3 TI200 before this card and my 3d mark score was 5500. Popped this card in and ran 3dmark and it bumped it up to almost 8500!!
I love this card.

Review: The performance of this card is truly great! There is no better card in this price range. I have a friend who has a TI4200 and the 9500 is clearly superior. With the introduction of the 9600 pro, the price of the 9500 should drop considerably making it an even better value. I have even seen reviews on modified 9500's that will outperform the 9700 pro! Too Cool! The only problem I have with the 9500 is that sometimes I lose the video signal from the card. The computer isn't locked up, just no signal. This rarely happens, but I have to power down and reboot. Very, very annoying. All in all though, I would recommend this card to anyone. It Screams!
