Summary: Warning Consumers! Garbage Alert!
Review: (I own the TV Tuner version which actually is the same as this card in 99% of its respects so I am writing a review for consumer awareness) The device nearly crashed my computer after a very lousy setup installation. Then upon installation I got vertical static bars on top of the displayed TV image which I couldnt get rid of. Trying to configure the displayed image is nearly impossible (Like I understand what IRSC_IR cable modes mean which wasnt in the manual) When I tryed to contact Lifeview, their manual has no address, no phone number no nothing about them, no tech support too. Oh and there was a missing IR reciever too so the remote was worthless. What I managed to get on screen was very fuzzy on most channels, as a TV tuner, your better off using your ancient VCR, you'd get better reception that way =)

Bottom line... absolute garbage... No support or way to contact LifeView, poor installation software, terrible manual, very substandard video performance. This capture card is a rip off, go spend your $ on some other video capture company (Get the new Voodoo card with TV tuner built into it.) (Oh and the shipping labels are on their way, im getting my money back for this device)

((PS: Im a computer engineer with 10 years experience with computer hardware, take my word for it.))

Summary: Hardware: Good, Software: Complete crap
Review: Hardware installation was easy but the software was strange to say the least. It's hard to use, inconsistent, crashes, blue-screens my computer. An updated driver and TV tuner program from the LifeView website was heaps better, but it's still poor, and I still get a blue-screen about once a day. Don't go near this thing.

Summary: Great Product - Easy to Install
Review: I received the card today and it worked absolutely perfect. The video quality is extremely good and the video capture and 'framestills' are in excellent syncronization. It works even in Linux perfectly with the driver that kernel brings so in both OS are just perfect. All you have to know if you're gonna buy this is that SOME (NOT ALL) older Cirrus, SiS and Trident cards will not work because they don't support Overlay Video Mode and their chipset works in a different manner. By the way, I have a Trident 9680 and it works perfect. If you have the lastest DirectX drivers and your PCI/AGP video card support DirectDraw (99% of the PCI video cards, and every AGP card), you're on it.

Also, the IRSC_IR cable is the cable that brings the IR sensor for the control remote (which is very very good) and it IS on the manual. You just have to plug it in the card and put it around and the remote control will work perfectly. Lifeview supported me VERY VERY well on their website.

You can contact LifeView Support Team anytime you want (see their lifeview website for the e-mail address) and they will reply almost immediately for questions about your hardware and if it suits nice for the FlyVideo.

Summary: If only the drivers would blinkin work with DirectX 7
Review: This card should work theirs a large window in the software where the video (should) go, but the darn capture goes into an annoying tiny blue window which won't close off my screen and as soon as i plug anything it it keeps capturing and capturing even though the utitlity isn't running. The capture and everything doesn't work. If only the darn thing came with or there was a place i could find drivers that worked with DirectX 7. (I know what the problem is due tsomeone else's review)

Summary: Excellent Product
Review: This is one of the most efficient capture cards and tv tuner that I have ever delt with. While purchasing this item I read the review from the so called "Engineer for 10 years" and I was kind of nervous about odering this item, but it was definitely worth the $80. The only problem is that the instruction booklet does not show you how to operate the software, also while recording a movie, I could not record the sound. I am sure there is a solution, and I'll find it.
