Summary: I'm in the Game Now!
Review: Cyborg got me into the game! Great manueverability and a very responsive joystick. Much better feel to it than my old Microsoft joystick. Not only am I trimmed on X and Y axis - I'm lean and mean and can play hard. I used to get my butt kicked- now I'm really playing! Great stuff from Saitek!

Summary: It's FAIR.....
Review: I found this joystick to be about average...
The cons---
The spring loaded centering doesn't always seem to react the way you need it too.... when flying simulators precision and feedback are everything--- especially when flying against live players.
The joystick has tons of easily accessible buttons, which is great, and the refinement of the buttons is phenominal and comfortable, feels wonderful... and is a bit "exciting" to say the least.
The throttle in the middle is downright annoying and you have to "cross" your hands just to use it, when in the fully throttle position, you tend to move the throttle with your joystick hand when pulling back on the stick... annoying.

With a little getting used to though, I got the feel for this stick and it works great.... BUT....
in comparison, I highly recommend the microsoft sidewinder joystick, as the sidewinder is much better responsive to flying, it just feels better, reacts better, and never does anything unexpected, you get a better feel for the aircraft, period.

Don't let this hold you back though, both are fantastic, but you will never know the difference by going to best buy and playing around, you need to play YOUR game with them, sorry to say it.

Summary: Works great, couldn't be happier
Review: I have had this joystick for a year now, and use it several times a week for playing BF1942 and MS Combat Flight Simulator. It's crisp and provides great control when flying all types of aircraft, the thumb button panel is adjustable in two axes for optimal positioning, and I love that the grip is good for both left-handed and right-handed people (I'm left-handed, and can't use most right-handed Microsoft products like their Joysticks and mice).

I liked it so much I bought a second one for my son who is started playing BF1942 recently with me. He thinks it works great and looks cool too, he really likes the light-up glowing buttons. All in all, I think it's a great joystick for a very reasonable price.

Summary: Drifts to the left, a BIG annoyance.
Review: I recently purchased this joystick because I saw it at BestBuy awhile ago and I liked the feel and look of it. A month later I decided to buy it.

When it arrived, I installed the drivers, I loaded up World War 2 Online, and noticed instantly that it drifts to the left, even when you are not touching it! I went to the support forums for the Saitek Cyborg Evo and noticed that quite a few other people are having the problem of the joystick drifting to the left and the calibration not saving. You have to recalibrate the joystick each time you restart and for some people, including me, it does not fix the problem of the drifting.

I also noticed while viewing the support forums that some Saitek joysticks also had the same problem in the past.

Its a good joystick, but I would stay away until the left drift problem and calibration saving problem is gone.

Summary: Gets the job done, fair for the price
Review: I use this with X-Plane, I love having a full HOTAS set-up, or even better a Cyrus console or yoke with pedals, BUT, because of my mobile (even nomadic) lifestyle I needed something that will get the job done and not take up a lot of space. This stick has the three essential flight controls - ailerons, rudder, and throttle, plus convenient buttons to set-up as elevator trim and flaps controls. There is an 8-way hat, which is convenient for view control or, if you prefer, elevator and rudder trim controls. There is enough buttons for convenient landing gear, brakes, and engine controls. The only issue I have with this stick is the spring tension, well it's not terrible, its useable, but I really wish it was tighter (I'm considering manually replacing the spring). All factors considered - this stick accomplishes my need for a compact, yet functional flight control, for a fair price.

I would like to note that the left-drifting tendency that Tim Schindler has experienced is likely the simulated torque effect of propeller driven aircraft.

Summary: Fade from Gaming
Review: Just bought this stick. Great look and feel. Good action on throttle and x and y axis. BIG Problem-Saitek knows about it. In MechWarrior4 all version and Need for Speed most version, tends to "fade" to the left. When twist is used, that feature also "pins" to the left and cannot be corrected. The updated driver available on Microsoft's website does not completely correct the problem. It just fades alittle slower. Saitek tech support has not replied to my emails to this point. I think I will try one of the Logitech products or Microsoft's. MS is much more expensive, but they always work.

Summary: Calibrate? Again?
Review: Okay, fade to the left is a pain.. But what's worse is that the twist axis is based on an odd number, so there isn't a centerpoint... after a twist in any direction, the calibration on this stick starts to go, then keeps going and going and going... Don't like saving a game to re-calibrate my stick. I am online now shopping for a replacement. Suggestions? Anyone?

Summary: Great stick
Review: This is a great stick. A couple of my friends bought this stick at nearly the same time without each other knowing and we all love it. You really need to mount it to a fixed base tho to really lock in the controls so the stick doesn't move with you. The height adjustment is a nice touch as are the controls for the thumb buttons. I play a ton of BF1942 and this is a great stick for helicopters, I won't say its the best since I haven't tried many, but you won't go wrong with this one.
