Summary: The Chevy of Joysticks
Review: "Like a Rock". Accurate, hefty, and stable its a joystick that won't feel like its going to break the next time you decide to hit the deck. Button placement may not be optimal for everyone, but what joystick is? With its heavy base it can double for a personal defense weapon. The cool thing about it is that you just plug it into your USB port and you are ready for action. It is very precise in its movement/cursor relationship. You don't get the "wobble" you have with sticks plugged into joystick ports when you check it on setup. The top hat is one of the best working of any stick I have used. I got through lots of joysticks, Side Winders, Logitechs, etc.. and they usually die because the springs that center the stick strech out. This one feels like its built to last and so far no problems.

Review: A great stick for the money. The lever throttle is soooo much better then the normal wheel type, especially in games when below 50% is reverse. The base mounted buttons are a little awkward to use but they are great for little used things like landing gear. i would recommend this stick to anyone who dosn't need force-feedback.

Summary: Solid Stick For The Price!
Review: After some considerable research and review of available products to replace my old Sidewinder 3D Pro (couldn't get it to function any longer with Windows 98SE after long hours trying everything Microsoft's website had to offer) I picked this joystick to work with Flight Simulator 2002 Professional Edition. The stick's software loaded simply and perfectly the first time. All buttons were effective with no adjustment necessary. In all, it took about five minutes to get it up and running. Solid stick with great feel! I highly recommend it for flight applications.

Summary: Bought this 6 months ago for Desert Combat
Review: Bought this joystick for desert combat (only game I play that
requires one) and I don't play that frequently. Maybe a few
hours a month - so it's not been abused. At first it worked great. However, about a month ago the twist
function no longer works (only registers twisting to the left -
not the right) - and it won't center anymore. so basically I take off in DC in a plane and if I don't over
steer - just leave the joystick centered - the plane pulls to
the right and down. Calibration doesn't do a thing. Big waste of $35 bucks. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Review: I agree in every positive comment posted here. The person that rated it with one star is also right about his complaints but instead of down-rating this joystick I recomend that he downloads the MS Flight simulator 2000 patch. That should improve the runway handling. There is some play around the center of the rudder axis. This is so common to joysticks that it is the reason why you can set a dead middle zone to avoid undesired turning. Try that and this stick will prove to be a 4 to 5 star winner. Review: I bought the Saitek first and it was horrible right out of the box. I use the joystick for flying in BF1942 and with the Saitek I could not control the planes one bit. Returned it and got the Logitech...what can I say except night and day! Much better feel and ability to control the aircraft. Physically feels much better to boot! Highly recommend!

Summary: Slick stick at a nice price!
Review: I bought this as a replacement for my LogicTech Extreme Digital which stopped working after I upgraded my machine (grumble...grumble). Just as well, this beautiful USB/gameport joystick is fun to use. I primarily use it for flight sims like Flight Unlimited 3 and Jane's WWII Fighters (and !SOON! MS Flight Sim 2002!!!). It set itself up for Descent 3 and after some minor tweaking with the sensitivity settings it worked better than any stick I've ever used. It just feels right. The buttons are all conveniently located and the hat switch was a simple rake of my thumb. I had a CH Flightstick years ago with a huge knob for a hat switch. I like this Wingman hat much better. The rudder control was a nice surprise! Just twist the stick to & fro and the rudder flaps back and forth (I've never had a rudder before...rudder virgin?). The stick looks awesome on your desk too! The foot is stream-lined and the front trigger has those striking holes like a revolver. My only disappointment was that the Logitech ensignia at the base of the stick did not light up like I thought it would (bet I'm not the only one...ha ha). Logictech includes good software for the stick to set it up how you like for your games. Highly recommended stick! NOTE: I have had problems with USB on my system so the option to use the gameport was appreciated. Not so lucky with the Gravis USB gamepad.

Summary: Starts out great....then it's all down hill
Review: I bought this joystick for Desert Combat. I'll be the first to say that fresh out of the box this joystick rocks. I've had it now for 6 months with periodic playing and now the problems begin. Flying straight ahead and letting go of the joystick immediately sends my plane into a death roll to the right. When I try to calibrate the joystick it won't even register that I'm pushing it to the right - all very weird. I've read a lot of other reviews about this joystick saying how they clean it and then it's like new again. Well I wouldn't even bother. I tried taking out the 5 screws on the bottom and it still wouldn't come apart. Plus right below the stick itself are another 5 screws. Don't ask me what they do, but I've turned them in both directions about a thousand times and NOTHING. Logitech must have developed some new type of screw that actually doesn't screw at all. Anyway, the message of all this bantering is BE WARNED. Unless you just want to buy this joystick to look at it, I wouldn't even bother.
