Summary: Nice Product Power a little Lacking
Review: I got it for 130$ with a 30$ mail in rebate. It works fine no problems very easy to use and setup instructions are good, only thing really lacking is a picture of ideal placement of speakers although it has a detailed description, so it was no problem. Came with an optical cable to connect to PS2 (and many other extra cables that you might need), and i connected and watched panic room w/ DTS and it was AWESOME. The only thing is that its 48watts. but for the price and being that its analog AND digital (unlike the Creative 5200, 5300) its really worth the price. I would deffintly recomend it to my friends

Summary: Perfect for small room game needs!
Review: If you are looking for a 5.1 system for you game console, this is IT! It features 5.1 in Dolby Digital and DTS, so it will work for PS2 and Xbox. I play my games in my bed room, so I don't need a huge system. This fits perfectly. It creates decent bass yet produce very crisp high end sound. The thing out it is that my local retail stores are selling for [big bucks], and I was able to get it for [less] (with the rebate). Thanks Amazon!

Summary: Great value...but less so with an Audigy
Review: Like apparently several other buyers, I could also not get this system to work in full 5.1 mode using an Audigy sound card and the Yamaha's digital input. Even with the proper 3.5mm mono to coax adapter (as recommended by Yamaha) plugged into the TSS-1 and a known 5.1 DVD, and even after tweaking the audio configuration per Yamaha's advice, and then making sure to adhere to Ceative's absurdly complicated explanation of what to do....there was no center channel sound.

Creative's customer support leaves something to be desired. I'm getting tired of boiler plate, canned replies from computer peripheral manufacturers that never seem to address my problem.

Two and 4 channel performance is superb for the price. This system will decode just about any type of surround system currently on the market. Also like so many others, I am very happy with this system because it's so flexible. It plays DVDs and music with excellent accuracy and more than sufficient volume, though the subwoofer could not keep up with certain DVDs and occasionally clipped. It faired better with music.

You can use this system with a computer, or a game system, a component DVD player, etc. The black monolith-type control unit is extremely useful and convenient. Everything is within easy reach and the old fashioned volume knob is great. The lack of bass/treble controls is a bit frustrating, but the subwoofer can be modulated, and that's really enough.

Perhaps Creative will take note of the TSS-1/Audigy problem and rectify it. Until then, Audigy sound card/Yamaha TSS-1 users will have to settle for 4 channel sound. Except for this shortcoming, and even though it's not really Yamaha's fault, this is a terrific deal (with [Amazon.com's] sale price and rebate).

Summary: Yamaha TSS-1 WHITE
Review: Like most of the reviews, the most appealing thing about this set is the sound upgrade most people experience who are looking to upgrade from the 2 "multimedia" speakers they received with their system or paid less than [amt]. The volume levels are adequate for most music when used what it was designed for - connected to your computer station with the speakers aimed at you and your sound stage in a small area - maybe 8' by 8' sitting in a chair. If it's volume you are after, go up to the [amt] units. The other convienent things in this price range is the headphone jack and the separate amplifier / control unit which is now on my desk within reach. Most sound sources have different volume / tonal qualities which I like to constantly adjust - so having the control unit on the desk is a great advantage for me. The only thing that this unit needs is a treble control. Overall a great unit but be true to yourself on how you will use it. This is no substitute for a home theater system.
