Summary: Klipsch5.1THX Promedia vs Altec Lansing 641 vs Logitech Z560
Review: For your information, I'm a fan of stereo sets and I've always loved to get the best stereo set available in the market to satisfy my stereo needs.

First of all, I purchased a Altec Lansing 641 from [local store], and when I took it back, I loved the sound system very much as it has a dual speaker sub-woofers, the sound was very clear, but unfortunately after a week, the sub-woofers started to give me some sort of irritating buzzing noises.

So, I decided to return it to [the local sotre], and I exchanged it with a Logitech Z560 where I've topped up some money for it. When I've got it back, I've realise that this Z560 set with only 1 8" speaker subwoofer on it seemed to give me a better base compared to Altec Lansing 641, but the only thing that I'm not satisfied is, the clearness from the speaker when you're listening to speech. It worked great with Movies as these speaker set is THX certified, but on the music (MP3) and speeches basis, I'd still say that I prefer the Altec Lansing 641 much better for the details of speech and quality. But Z560 has an advantage over 641 on the bass' side.

I wasn't satisfied with what I've paid for this Z560, so I've decided to return it to [local store] and go for the more expensive version of Klipsch THX 5.1 Promedia, it cost me a lot more than those 2 sets that I've tried out. One thing I've realised, the bass was just satisfying, I'd prefer the Z560's base, but overall, the 5.1 set was awesome when I watched Matrix on DVD, I'm starting to fall in love with this set and that's what I tell everyone about it.

I'd say, if you can afford it, go for the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 THX system set, or else, I'd say, the Altec Lansing 641 would be a value for money buy, provided it doesn't give you any problems with it.

That's all for now. :)

Summary: These speakers are just the best!!!!!!
Review: I have recently bought a pair of Klipsch Promedia 2.1's and I love them!!!! I tried them out vs. the Altec 621's and Logitech Z-560's. The Altec's were decent but the range wasn't comparable. The bass wasn't deep enough either and the size of the subwoofer is ridiculous. The Logitech z560's bass was pretty good but the sound wasn't as crisp as the Klipsch's and there are 4 satellites in the Logitech z560 vs. the Klipsch's 2 satellites. If you have the money, and you want front and rear speakers, get the Klipsch Promedia 4.1's. I think the 2.1's are just fine. If I didn't get these speakers, then I would have bought the Logitech Z-560's. I would have taken a pass on the Altec 621's.

Review: ... I was blown away by the clarity and sheer volume. I have never heard a higher quality computer speaker. The only way to get better sound on a computer would be to use a full blown home theater system. They are almost perfect in every way. The only things I don't like are; lack of included stands for rear speakers; mini stereo plugs for the speakers and no power button. Otherwise they are perfect. The only problem is the lack of quality from the sound blaster extigy I am using them with. Buy the speakers only get extigy if you have to (broken laptop sound chip.)

Summary: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX speakers
Review: Most of the other computer speakers on this site have reviews that say something about being the best speakers out there. They obviously have not listened to all of them. The Klipsch 2.1 system will seriously blow most of these speakers away. No other system can put out a pair of THX speakers and crank it to 106 decibles! And no, they are not just THX certified at 70 decibles, but all certifeid at the max 106. There are very few things wrong with this system, but I will note them. Headphone jack connections for the speakers are not the best things to use and may have to be cleaned from time to time. The bass is sometimes a little hard to set right, as it becomes a little to much and then needing a little more, but these are just very minor problems. Let me again say though, that these are the best computer speakers available and there are many review sites that agree with me. Rest assured that if you have a set of these you can beat the snot out of anyone else's speakers. Most of the time you can win without even playing them. Just compare the technical information! I really reccomend the speakers for someone wh is looking for some serious high-end sound.

Summary: Klipsch Promedia 2.1
Review: I have the 2.1 model. The Speakers are best pointed not at you but about 10 degrees to the left for the left speaker and right for the right speaker. That way the highs won't die off and you still have pretty good center focus. The subwoofer is, in my opinion, too bass heavy. There's a big hill around 70 hertz somewhere, and then it dies out around 30 hertz. The satellites can play very loud with surprisingly low distortion. But that's not the case with the subwoofer. Since the amplifier is inside the subwoofer and that same amplifier powers the satellites, the satellites sorta get killed when the subwoofer plays loud. Oh yeah, don't think this thing is good just because it has THX certification. It's not as strict as the ones on A/V recievers and other stuff like that. You're better off actually listening to the speakers for yourself than take Lucas's advice. But I must say that this system sounds better that most. Good in a large room. So as 3 as the average I would rate it a 3.5. Round it up to a 4. Good luck.

Summary: Best system ever!
Review: This system beats my home stereo system in sound quality, and the bass is strong and crisp. On DVD's, every tiny bit of detail you miss with other systems is brought out and distinctly heard. When the bass is turned all the way up, it the sub rattles a picture on the wall, yet it remains clear and realistic. Forget the other brands. If you compare equal wattage systems (which I bought and returned), you'll find that those other brands probobly claim more than they actually deliver. Klipsch is the real deal. Don't even consider the others.

Summary: The BEST of the BEST...Pro-Media 5.1
Review: Personally, I consider myself to be a pretty big PC Gamer. I've got everything from the "19 Triniton Monitor, to the Geforce 3 Ti, 700 MB of RAM...and now, the best sound system you can buy.

The Pro-Media 5.1 6 Speaker System is unreal. At first, I was going to go with the 4.1 set. It was on sale on most sites, which [made it cheaper] than the 5.1 system. When I went to look at the two systems, all the retailer had in stock was the 5.1. I figured I would give it a shot. If they say it's the best, I wanted to know why. I was NOT disapointed. This thing is LOUD, CLEAR, and the PERFECT addition to your computer if your into gaming. If you max out the volume control your going to blow your ears out, and the sound is still crystal clear. This is not your average set of computer speakers. I was shocked just at the weight of the speakers themselves. They are built rock solid, and packed with everything you can imagine. The Subwoofer will shake the pictures off the walls. If you wanna impress yourself, and your freinds, this is the one for you.

...

Overall, very pleased with the 5.1's. Top notch system from a top notch company. Good luck and enjoy.

Summary: For gamers and music buffs
Review: The best thing about these speakers is the power and ability to play music and noise. You can crank your favorite song so loud it actually sounds clearer the further you walk away. I love the sounds of a chain machine gun firing away; while empty shells hit the ground.

I think the THX certified might be stretching it, but part of that certification is placing the speakers in a perfect acoustic balanced environment; which I have never done. The moment you hear these things rock, music and gaming will never be same.

Summary: Excellent System
Review: These speakers will take your computer sound to a whole new level of excitement and really enhanance games...mp3's..and DVD's as well. If your looking for a system that will really thump when you need the bass and will also crank out awesome hi's and midrange then look no further. The subwoofer sounds great and the satalites are super as well. A little pricey compared to other systems but well worth the money!!!!
