Review: I'm to lazy to register so I used the kid's review form. Haha!So let's get started. These are the only computer speakers I've ever bought so I have no comparison to anything else. The speakers actually sound like speakers, average speakers though. The subwoofer is a tad boomy and s l o w and it still sounds unnatural even with the subwoofer know turned ALL THE WAY DOWN, but it's all right because these are computer speakers. These are more suitable for hip hop or rock, the dialogue sounds unnatural and piano music sounds like MIDI (lol). Some may not like the horn tweeters, as they tend to sound too hot. I usually avoid horns but I don't hear anything overly extreme. This system is very powerful. It played clean up to the highest levels (except for the subwoofer which had port noise). It effortlessly filled by medium-sized room with sound. Don't be mislead by the THX logo on it, though. The requirements for computer speakers aren't as strict as the ones for theater equipment. In other words, you're not going to watch Star Wars on this thing. So it all comes together. This is a great 3-piece speaker system for a computer, and it's worth every penny. Audiophiles though wouldn't bother with such mediocre equipment (so bug off) and GO LISTEN TO THEIR MUSIC SOMEWHERE ELSE. Oh yeah! I almost forgot! I broke this in for more than 400 hours, not continuously or course.

Summary: Klipsch Speakers OverPriced + Low Life Span
Review: When you first get these babies out of the box and set up, all you can say is wow!! I don't think there a better sounding set of computer speakers on the market. That's if your set even works the first time. There appears to be a lot of failures at first power up. Or, if you survive the 4 - 6 months of normal usage, the amp in the subwoofer prematurely fails (very common occurance-many people are on their 3rd set in a year). These speakers should be failing after 8 years, not 8 months. Until Klipsch get's their quality issues under control, (and when they do, I'll be glad to give them a '5' in the ratings), STAY AWAY FROM THESE!!! Buy a set of Altecs or Monsoons for half the price and none of the aggravation. If you do decide to buy them, I have 2 words for you: EXTENDED WARRANTY. The warranty on this product is 1 year, and guaranteed they will fail once within that time period...

Summary: Pretty good for DVD and 5.1 audio sources, but otherwise...
Review: I haven't actually heard any of the Promedia 5.1's competitors (like the VideoLogic Crossfire, Monsoon, Creative Labs, etc), but I think these are pretty good. I switched to them from the Altec Lansing ACS48 Powercube 2.1's that I bought a few years ago and the difference is noticeable, but not as pronounced as when I moved from a cheap pair of Sonys to the Altec Lansings, where I could easily hear entire instruments on the Lansings that I couldn't hear on the Sonys. I guess audio quality only gets so good... Either that or I'm not very good at noticing these kinds of things. I guess it's when I get these speakers pretty loud, and when I play 5.1 audio (DVD's, AC3 files, newer games) that their quality becomes really apparent. The sense of space ("soundstage" or whatever it's called) is pretty nice, even with 2-channel stereo material. Playing the "Spy Game" DVD and the Deus Ex AC3 soundtracks sounded incredibly good. Unfortunately, older games that use the DirectSound 3D API (like Counterstrike and Unreal Tournament) won't use the center speaker, which is too bad. I was afraid that the bass would be overpowering, but personally I think it's a perfect balance--and if it doesn't suit your tastes, you can adjust it so the bass is up to 15 db louder than it's supposed to be. In terms of usability, these speakers are by far the best I've ever had. Every set of speakers I've ever owned has had some sort of shortcoming along these lines. One set would have dual inputs but no earphone jack, another set would be vice versa, etc... The control tower in this set is a godsend. In it, you can plug a second 2-channel audio source (e.g. portable cd player), earphones (and they even have a separate volume control from the speakers), as well as knobs for volume, center volume, rear volume, and subwoofer volume... all these knobs are linked to the tower's LCD display that shows the level on a numeric scale (I think they're suposed to be in decibels), which is very helpful (unlike my Altec Lansing's that had no knob and no display and you never knew how loud they were until you played something). The only complaint I have is that for the second 2-channel input source, the audio only goes to the 2 front speakers and the subwoofer--stereo audio isn't mirrored to the rear speakers, like it is when I play 2-channel audio through my Soundblaster Audigy. I guess I'd recommend these speakers, I wish they didn't cost so much but I don't know about many other speakers out there so I can't really compare. My only real disappointment is the fact that there just isn't much 5.1 source material out there right now, and that's what these speakers blow me away with. If you want to use these to play DVD's, they're wonderful, but if you just want to use them for music or games, you might be better off with a more inexpensive 4.1 system, or even a 2.1 system if you just want to listen to music. Actually, for personal music listening and games with 3D sound, I honestly prefer a good pair of headphones--the Sennheiser HD600's cost about as much as these speakers and honestly they sound much better.

Review: These speakers sound great but they break down too easily. I do not have much luck with these. Buyers be aware to keep the receipt for exhange or work with stores that allow exchange.
These speakers sound comparable with Altec Lansing 621 and slightly better than Monsoon 1000.

Review: Simply put, buy now! I have several sets of speakers and none of them are as crisp and clear as these babies. If you want to save a little money then buy the Altec Lansing 621. Either way you will have a great set of speakers. Rock on!

Summary: If you dont have these speakers...
Review: THEN GET THEM! I am an audiophile, as many people would read in all my other speaker reviews, and this system tops all the speaker systems that I have ever used in my 14 years of living! To start, these bad boys pack monster sound, able to reach 500 wats of sound! Lets see now... blasting them that loud will probably give ya a couple million dead brain cells and defness in both your EARS! They have horn tweeters to support all the high and mid range sounds (very nice feature, but some people dont like them because they are "too bright", but I find them to be quite incredible!). The woofer on this system is also great. It is gigantic, and will probably not fit in some desk areas. It is massive, and I have measured it to be close to as tall as my 15inch monitor! Besides the size, though, the sound is incredible! The woofer will basically blow fueses in your house if you turn it up all the way, and it shakes my desk and house when turned up 80 percent. And on top of all this, the satelites dont get overpowered by this massive bass! The satelites are great, and the dedicated center channel is a must have for all gaming and DVD junkies (that's me and you right?). The control tower is excellent if you want a dedicated satelite to perform sound adjustments. You can change the sound of the regular satelites, the rear ones, the center, and the subwoofer. In general, any serrious game player, dvd watcher, and music listener should get these for their computer. If you are prepared to pay the hefty price for this system, then you should get it!

Summary: Ok, these are good
Review: I was looking for some new sound. I'm in college now, and wanted to blow everyone on my floor away. Browsing the net, I found the Klipsch 4.1 speakers. I'm thinking, I've never heard of that brand! I kept reading, did some talking, and I'm glad I decided to purchase these. The sound is great. When you have it set up for surround sound, it blows you away. The bass - wow! I've never seen so many things in my room shake that much. Sweet, man. That's all I gotta say 'bout these.

Summary: Klipsch Promedia 5.1 THX System
Review: I won't waste time with rhetoric, but this system combined with Turtle Beach's Santa Cruz sound card is the BOM.......B!!!! For Real!!! I would go so far as to say you wouldn't crave for anything better, frankly I don't think there is. If you decide to purchase it for a computer, be sure to obtain a six speaker sound card. The control tower allows you to tailor the rear, center and sub, combined with the application software with the Santa Cruz ... more than enough. As for price ... well worth it. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Very Pricey but worth it!
Review: This Klipch 5.1 system Is the best PC speaker system I have ever ownd!It is not a digital speaker system but the sound quality is so good you can turn up the volume full blast if you dare and you will get the richest clearest sound! No distortion or hissing's. And this speaker rig has the most richest Base I ever heard on any given desk top! The only flaw about the 5.1 Klipsch speaker system is: mp3's, wav files and presently all games only use 4.1 sound. The only media that uses the center speaker are most DvD's. Finally John Carmack founder and chief programer of Id games announced the video game Doom 3 will be the first game to use 5.1 sound. Once this game comes out the others are sure to follow! :) If most of your days are spent in front of your Pc editing mp3's wav files, playing games and watching movies while your regular Tv just sits there collecting dust, The Klipsch 5.1 speaker system is for you!

Summary: what's all the hype about?
Review: (...) The frist couple of days, they worked fine, the sub played descretely through my LFE Philips soundcard. After the third day they started sounding distorted when certain sounds were played(eg. the Earthlink sign on bell, windows bong when a message comes up) The subwoofer wasn't playing the low side of the sounds, the satalites were and they wern't very good. the "Bass reflex" doesn't play descretely anymore from my Philips LFE speaker test, it just plays through the front speakers-how (...)is that?- The rear channels played through my two front speakers as well as my left rear. It is not my soundcard because it worked with my other speakers. The wire hook ups with this Promedia 5.1 are flimsy, I never did like contact leads, the subwoofer is not well built and the wires flimsy. The places they plug into on the sub are loose(yes I did check the wires and they were all connected right, it's just the contacts on the sub were flimsy)
Unless you want to get rid of some extra cash, I would recommend going with a cheaper and better built system.

Yet a third set of these worthless, over-rated, over priced speakers has gone out six months after my initial review. I will not put up with this. Klipsh should be ashamed of themselves. They have just permanantly lost another customer. I will never buy a Klipsh product again! Anyone saying Klipsh speakers are the best on the planet is a (...) and is in denial! (...)
