Summary: Ignore the hype, its from people trying to sell these turds.
Review: The plus side is it,s easy to hook this good looking ,so called new generation of sound ,THX pro media experiance set up,up. I had read the reveiws about great sound, people getting kicked out of apartments, powering up a block party, the works. I put the old Altec Lansings ATP3,s on my other P.C. Carefully adjusted my sound card, even played a subwoofer break in disc I had around. Talk about dissapointment. My 89 dollar boom box would put these to shame. There is still no system out for p.c.s that I'd call head and shoulders above the rest. If you think these have great sound quality you have obviously lived a sheltered life. The tweeters are obnoxious in my opinion, but I'm a silk dome fan! The bass isnt really that great either. Very minamal change in volume over the old Altec Lansing ATP3s
Pay attention to the people with reliability issues and service from Klipsch too! When they say poor service They are being nice. It will take awhile to get your return authorization number. You will need this number,BECAUSE OF RELIABILITY ISSUES and if you bought them from someone other than a authorized dealer they will want you to pay. Looking back I bought thses speaker because of the name is synonimous with fine audio equipment. I only looked at the positive reviews, figured the others didn't know what they were talking about, wrong. Just like the dim headlights on a old Volkswagon, once again Bosch is not a electrical genius on this player. Dont, I repeat dont, buy this system expecting to just smoke your old set up unless you have one crappy o.e.m. setup. Just think in-between sending it back for service to Klipsch your going to need something to listen too so don't throw them out.

Summary: KLIPSCH HAS RUINED THEIR REPUTATION WITH PROMEDIA SPEAKERS!!
Review: Within the last two years I have bought two sets of the Promedia 2.1 speakers based on the reputation of the company, and several excellent reviews on the web. They remind me of my old VW rabbit. When it worked it was an awesome car, but it had one problem after another. The same can be said for these speakers. The subs on both sets failed, and got severely distorted sound. The quality of these speakers has spoken for themselves. ****CHEAP**** They obviously have a serious reliability problem, as suggested by many other customer's reviews, but what is worse, after spending $350 on the two sets, Klipsch will not recall them, and wants me to spend another $40 each to fix the subwoofers. That's great customer service. Don't buy this junk. I have since bought a set of Logitech z-2200 speakers (THX rated) for about $100 and could not be happier. They are built much better, and sound fantastic.

Summary: A Must Buy!
Review: The Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers are quite possibly the loudest speakers I have ever had the pleasure of owning/listening to. This includes mini home theaters as well as computer speakers. Before this, I was completely content with my Midiland MLi-490 4.1 speaker set, which I purchased two years ago for $70. But the new 2.1 system has proven to be unbeatable.
The sheer volume of the Promedia system is unbelievable; rarely do I ever turn the volume up more than a quarter of the way up. Even then, the sound englufs my entire room, and the bass can be heard and felt around the entire house. Music from CDs and high-quality MP3s are a pleasure to listen to, and old games have a new edge to them because of the amazing sound.
There are drawbacks, however. I highly recommend having a seperate PCI sound card, such as the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, because onboard audio that comes standard with some motherboards cannot adequately feed the speakers the highest quality sound possible. In addition, lower quality MP3s (<128kbps) cannot be listened to, because the speakers reproduce every flaw in the song extremely clearly. The power button for the speakers are also located on the back of the subwoofer, which is usually placed on the floor, and is a hassle to get at when turning the computer on and off (leaving the speakers on should not be an option, considering the immense amount of power required to run this speaker system).
At $150, this speaker system is a bargain for the amount and quality of sound that it produces. However, it is certainly not for the average home user. But if music, games and movies are your thing, do not pass up on this amazing product.

Summary: Earth-shaking!
Review: These speakers are a marvel of sound engineering. The sound produced from the two speakers and subwoofer is absolutely amazing, and totally unexpected. I've yet to try to push the speakers to their limits; turning the volume even halfway up scares me, for fear of breaking something from the immense sound that comes from this system. Accept no substitutes, the 2.1 system is the best sound money can buy for your computer. No separate PCI sound card is required- I use mine with the built in sound that is available on my motherboard, and I doubt it could be improved. That being said, these speakers are quite expensive, and the sound is much more than the normal user would require for games, movies and music. Unless you are a complete audiophile, look for something a bit more practical.

Summary: Outstanding Sound!
Review: These speakers are a bit pricey, but are worth every penny. I've tested them with various kinds of music...country, rock, classical, jazz, big band and ballads. It took a while to get them balanced and set up for my ear, and using a few tools like a graphic equalizer to enhance settings.

The music can be played at high volume levels as well as very quiet with a wide dynamic range and minimal distortion.

Doc Severinsen and Roy Shaunessey never sounded so good!

Don't compromise on anything less expensive, even the cheaper version of the Klipsch...this is the one!

Users could overdrive the sub with digital bass enhancers combined with the built in sub volume control. Moderation and common sense would be recommended. For sensible sub volumes, I have experienced no problems.

Summary: Simply Amazing
Review: Really all you need to know is that at full volume I can hear these from my neighbor's house fairly well. They are amazing speakers. The subwoofer is GREAT for games. Coupled with a Turtle Beach sound card you hear discrepencies in once sterling music. My only piece of advice is to not put them on full volume for at least a month. I have heard stories of people pushing them too hard to fast. Start low (though low on these speakers is as loud as my last set of speakers would go about 1/4 a turn on the speakers volume knob) and stay low for about a month, progressively getting louder if you choose to.

Summary: Best computer speakers!
Review: I've used pc speakers for years--many brands, room acoustics, etc. The Promedia 2.1 blows away any speaker I've heard for a pc or mp3 player, etc. Crystal clear highs, tight yet strong bass, lots of headroom. Good controls, easy setup, GREAT sound. These sound as good or better than Bose satellite/subwoofer setups for home theater that cost WAY more.

I ordered these having used Klipsch Heresy speakers for years--glad to see that Klipsch is still making quality products. GO KLIPSCH!

Summary: Great Setup
Review: A very inexpensive way for great sound from any source. the klipsch 2.1 thx is very stable with no buzzing or humming while in idle use. i've had mine for 6 months now and not one problem. enough bass to raddle the silverware in my kitchen drawer. a remote option would have been great but the price is well worth it.

Summary: Good sound, horrible reliability
Review: I am very much into clarity and fullness of sound, not a ton of volume or bass. Based on reviews, I thought these would make an excellent replacement to my Boston Acountics BA4800 that have served me well for 2 years (in 2.1 mode). Setup was easy, the clarity was on par with the Bostons, and had the fullness I was looking for despite an exceptionally odd preference to play the right speaker at almost twice the volume of the left. OK fine, maybe a software problem? I adjust to correct and I am now a happy man... for less than an hour. The amp fried itself and I am forced to teardown, repack, reinstall the 4800s and try again for [a lot more money]?
I don't think so - the Klipsch might have a slight edge on sound fullness, but not a oost [more money] plus serious quality problems.

Save your money and get something better.
