Summary: Awesome sound
Review: I love my new set of speakers, great for gamers and people who love music. These speakers won't shake your house but when they're three feet away from you how loud should they be? Base is a little too heavy, but can be turned down. Highs, mids, and lows sound great when listening to music or playing a game.As I said before base is heavy but can be turned down, so what ever the base level you like, it's there for you. Great looking speaking and awesome sound you can't go wrong, plus great price.I dought you'll be disappointed if you buy these speakers.

Summary: Decent speakers, although somewhat disappointing.
Review: I received these speakers to replace my old set of z560s and I must say that, on balance, I'm not impressed. The packaging is smooth, and the speakers look good, with a removable front grill for those who prefer the more aggressive look. The setup was simple and straight forward-- everything was color coded and such.
Those things aside, however, these speakers have very little to impress. The most important factor, in my opinion, about a set of speakers is the sound quality. In that regard, these speakers are rather disappointing. The bass is overpowering and loose, and the mid-tones are lacking. That aside, the speakers sound reasonably crisp, but they certainly aren't audiophile quality. The wired remote is poorly designed and ugly. Whereas the z560s used standard speaker cables, the speakers for the z5300 satellites are proprietary RCA type cables which cannot be detached from the speakers. The cables are rather short, to boot. The speakers have rotating bases to allow for wall mounting, but they're pretty cheesy and poorly designed. Lastly, the speakers really aren't all that powerful. Whereas the z560s where amazingly loud if you turned up the volume, there's nothing impressive about turning the volume all the way up with my z5300s.
It's true that these speakers only cost ~$150, but for that matter, so did the z560s, which were a heck of a lot more impressive set of speakers. If you want a powerful set of speakers with decent audio fidelity then save your money for a set of Klipsche ProMedias or a low end receiver set-up.

Summary: Awesome Product, Totally Satisfied, Go Buy It, U'll Luv it!
Review: I wanted to buy a speakers set with the most value for my money (my budget was final price should be under 150 with shipping) but wasn't ready to compromise on quality. Keeping this in mind, I started researching available brands and products in the market. I went to Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA and tested available speakers there for hours. I know the noise there and absence of properly isolated environment is BAD for these tests (requirements not being met for proper testing), but still I wanted to feel all the sets available out there. It's just necessary for me, can't buy something blindly, have to touch, feel and experience it before I decide to buy it. Anyways, I tested a lot of products, Altec Lansing, Klipsch, Logitech, Creative, JBL, Bose, etc. Read reviews on websites out there for available models of most popular gear in stores. I Googled for the products I was interested, to read all reviews out there (mostly on gaming web sites). Talked to my friends about their experience with such products. After listening to everyone, I decided Logitech 5300 is what I want. The deciding factors were: Price (most reasonable price) and Quality (Only Klipsch's $400 Speakers were better than these)! I didn't want a full fledge Home Theatre System, as I will buy those later for my house, and these will be used in my bedroom then, currently they are more than what I need for my Apt's living room (400 Sq. Ft.). I played all sorts of Audio CDs, U2, Enigma, Yanni, (Rock, Classicals, no Rap) etc. all of them sounded really well, not much loss or let's say acceptable loss of very low bass (price is under 150 bucks!) So keep that in your mind when you go buy these speakers - Best possible quality for the price! And buy it here from Amazon. I got free Super Saver Shipping, UPS Ground, they delivered in 2 Days! Ordered on Sunday, got them on Tuesday! Guess it was because I live in a major city (Dallas) but who doesn't these days! Earlier, I searched for the best deal too on web n stores - Extensive search, only 2 other web stores offered less price than Amazon but they didn't offer free shipping, thus I dropped them in a second. I have owned all sorts of speakers in the last 12 years, Sansui, Technics, Panasonic, Sony, Bose - They are all best but if you are looking for best speakers for gaming, DVD Theatre experience, these r the best at this price in this class! Count on me and go buy them, you won't be disappointed, I would even say 'satisfaction is guaranteed'. Some friends did say 'buy only Klipsch for best quality', I would if they would have pitched in another 250 bucks (they r expensive too n I understand). I was not willing to spend 400 bucks on this particular class/kind of speakers. Mind you these are not full fledged home theatre system speakers, but you will be amazed by them when you will turn your volume around 65-70%, they DO rock! Don't think you will be buying the best in the whole world, but sure they are 'The Best' in their class! Best Value with no compromise on quality! Hope this review helps you in deciding! Cheers n Best of Luck!

Summary: Great stuff!
Review: I was choosing between the logitech 560s and the 5300s. Two of my friends in the dorms have the 560s and I had been hearing their stuff for a quite some time. The 5600s are amazing, and after my friends and I broke it in and turned it up, they are just a tad better than the 5300s. Mainly the reason why is the 5.1 vs the 4.1 support. Some people may think the 560s have more bass because of the 188 watt sub compared to the 5300s which have only a 100 watt sub, but seriously you can't hear the difference. The bump in the 5300s is a little bit clearer, but the draw is the speaker clarity. Amazing in movies especially with 5.1 card ( i have an audigy 2nx for my laptop), and music is great as well. The only drawback is that you will learn that you have to listen to music with high quality, like more than 128kpbs in order to avoid distortion.

THe speakers are sexy, sound great, and very very good bang for the buck. If you are choosing between the 560s and the 5300s just choose music or movies (5300s for movies because of 5.1)

Summary: Excellent Sound PC Solution
Review: I'm putting together a home studio for digital photography and video editing and I needed a decent sound system. I researched various high and mid-tier systems and settled on the Z-5300's based on the specs, reviews, and an in-store demo. The system arrived last night and it was very easy to setup, worked perfectly out of the box, and sounded great. I love the solid "remote" control that gives me solid control of the setup and keeps the desktop clutter to a minimum. Great product!

Summary: Poor design
Review: I'm surpised by all the high reviews of this product. The speakers are pretty nice, but I think the design is horrible. The wired remote is poorly designed, ugly and well, wired.

My center speaker arrived defective -- lots of static.

My biggest gripe was with the subwoofer. There is simply no way to turn this thing down. The remote supposedly gives you a way to turn it down, but even at the lowest setting it is very loud -- too loud for me, or rather too loud for my neighbors.

Long story, short: speakers - decent, wired remote - bad, quality - defective, subwoofer - uncontrollable.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. If I had seen the remote in a store, I never would have bough the system.

Summary: Speakers Go Out
Review: I've had my Z-5300 for less than a year and I have had two speakers that have gone out on me and I never crank up the volume. My next computer speakers system will not be from Logitech.

Summary: Impressed!
Review: Let's get the price stuff out of the way. I was amazed with the value that my buddy got when he bought these speakers for his computer. When I heard them, I really couldn't believe he payed the price he paid.

Now to the rest of the stuff: I really loved these speakers after demo-ing them for a friend. I set the speakers up like any mini-home theatre should be set up (I put the two fronts and two rears diagonally facing eachother so the sound-waves met at a point about a foot behind the listener's head and positioned the center channel directly 1 1/2 feet from the listener's head. From this setup, the sound was phenominal (for the price). Channeling on the system is great - when listening closely you can hear every single channel, but when enjoying a movie, you are usually drawn into the movie too much to notice the actual sound channeling - this is when you notice the incredible sound. The mids and highs are greatly expressed (i noticed some hiss with the highs, however.. it's minimal, but any audiophile like myself would notice this clearly) and the subwoofer is pretty powerful. It doesn't give the punch that my klipsch subwoofer gives nor does it give the tone-differing of my logitech THX setup, but it definitly is incredible for what you get. The subwoofer is also the system's amp and it does a great job at this. The end result is a pretty impressive system in a compact package - the perfect low-end multimedia setup for audiophiles in small spaces.

I also loved how the speakers can be positioned differently. I love the way the speakers can go from vertical to horrizontal in just a slight twist of the base of the speaker. Swiveling speakers are not only fasionable but also convenient for many users. This is a large plus.

I also would like to mention that I was impressed that this speaker system passed the THX certification test with such a low power-rating. The speaker system as a whole output 280 watts of sound. This usually is plenty for small rooms or whimpy listeners, but I was impressed to hear that these speakers are certified for the best possible performance when playing music.

About the power ratings: I found these speakers to be directly proportional to the power of the Logitech Z-560s. While the 560s' rating is a bit higher, I couldn't find a main difference between the two setups. I can't compare the speakers directly but I found no difference. This system most-definitly deems the 560s obsolete. More speakers with the same power rating and at a much lower price means for a new mid-range speaker setup from Logitech!

However, I have one main complaint about these speakers. Logitech has always made the correct decision to use standard speaker cables in the past for their systems, but this time they used abnormal wires - meaning you can't upgrade to monster cables nor can you attatch these sats to other recievers. This is a slight dis-advantage for many users like myself, but I'm sure many average home users will never have the need to do anything like this.

Who is this speaker setup for? I'd say it would make a great gift for any music or movie lover. If you are an audiophile, however, I may look out and decide if you will ever need or want to change the speakers in any way. As I mentioned. you CANNOT change the wire or add different speakers. You cannot add the satelites to different recievers. The stupid abnormal wires just don't allow it.

The sound quality these speakers give, however, and the price you pay for them, warrant for quite a good purchase. If you are serrious about your sound, I would think long and hard about buying these speakers or not. However, if you will never find the wierd wires a bother, then this could be the perfect setup for you.

Summary: Awesome Powerful Bargain Speakers!!
Review: Listening to these speakers is like Music to my Ears. They're not as powerful as the $399 set of Logitech Z-680, but it's worth the bargain!

If you were looking for a set of 5.1 speakers that's just as good as any other, this bad boy should last you till the end of your days. The bases on the satellites swivel at enough radius, that it doesn't matter how you position them, you can still center your head between all of them. Have to play with the settings depending on your area that you've setup for listening to the speakers. But if anyone's had a 4.1 or higher setup before, they shouldn't have any problem with positioning.

I had to even turn DOWN the bass I was so scared of it when I was playing my games. Afraid I would wake the neighbors down stairs from me. Very powerful system. Heavy too! At 16Kgs , that 100 watt Subwoofer made the UPS guy debate even taking it up a flight of stairs. The pansy! I carried it upstars with one hand. Then I realized there were two handles in the carboard shipping box. DOH! Came with a nice stereo adaptor for those with consoles. So your PS2 doesn't feel left out. There's a switch in the back of the subwoofer that sets up 2 speakers, 4.1 setup, or a 5.1 setup. Most sound cards (on-board or a card) have 1 front and 1 rear. Some have the same, but you plug the subwoofer in where the Microphone jack goes. Weird. So read up on where to plug in the 3-1/8" jacks on your sound card in your computer. Those of you that want to keep quiet while gaming or movie watching, the headphone jack on the controller switches off all the speakers and switches over to the plugged in headphones. Good for gaming when you don't want your wife/girlfriend to hear.

Again I say, you MUST get these speakers if you're going for a mid powered 5.1 setup. Can't get it pretty much cheaper than what Amazon.com is offering it.

Ordered it on Martin Luthur King Jr. Day... Amazon said it would take till Jan 28th to get here.. 5-9 days Super Saver Free shipping. But I got it like it was a 2-day shipment! Now that is just awesome too. I was bummed that I had to wait a week. But two days! That's just outstanding!

Summary: Holy Sh*t!!! These are Awesome!!!!!
Review: OK... Where to start. First off, on its next-to-lowest volume setting it is loud enough to fill my room, which is around 235 sq. ft. The very lowest setting is enough for just around my computer (rarely used ;) ). by the 6th setting it can make the entire house fill with my awesome music without any distortion and my room shake like crazy. They are pretty easy to set up is you read the directions carefully, and im serios read them c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y or you will screw up and make the center speaker your left speaker and your subwoofer your right. believe me it happened to me. Just a warning. put something plastic under the subwoofer if it is going to be laying on a rug or else it will get shocked! (this has also happened to me and it is very frusterating to have to spend money on another one)
Pease out and let the music live on!
