Review: This is a great system and I'd recommend it to all my friends. It can go all the way to full volume without any distortion, crackling, etc. I use it mainly for gaming, and when games are configured right, it provides a really cool effect. For music, it sounds good, but the majority of the sound comes from just the center speaker. This can be fixed by switching to 4CH mode, but then it isnt using the Digital mode so it doesnt sound as sharp and clear. My only complaint is that to use it to its full potential with a computer, you need a really good sound card, like a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 card.

Review: This is an all-in-one excellent system... terrific effects for its nominal price of 100$. Actually I got this thru Yamaha's [X] MFR, getting it down to [X] + ([X] shipping)Only problem is that Amazon did not offer free shipping on this product. In either case this is a must buy whether as a replacement for the home theatre system or for general purpose speaker system. Gives real cool effects and with the inbuilt DTS decoder, I highly recommend it for the people who love to appreciate the sound effects.

Summary: great sound system
Review: this sound system is amazing! first of all it's speaker response is very good for a computer sound system. the control unit is also a plus with knobs for volume adjustment of the center, surround, and subwoofer speakers. even though it may not look like it puts out much power you might be surprised, from my experience as a sound technician what really matters is the db or spl output of a speaker and not the amount of watts it puts out. also the built in dolby digital and dts decoding is nice. yamaha also put in a feature, which sends a pure sine wave test tone out so you can adjust the settings of your speakers in terms of volume. my system configuration is an and 900 mhz, 80 gig hard drive, hp cd-rw, nvidia geforce 2 mx400, linksys ethernet card, creative sb audigy platinum, win 98 se, and now yamaha's tss-1b. if you're also looking at a new sound card look into creative's sound blaster audigy series they have great sound quality and sampling rate.

Summary: Best for the price
Review: Two things disappointed me: The speakers are so directional, the so-called 'sweet spot' is about the size of my head! Anywhere outside that area, the surround effect is not as good. Second, when playing MP3 music, the Dolby ProLogic processor creates intermittent screeching sounds on the back speakers. Having said that, the sound quality is great for the price...

Summary: Won't let me add to cart...
Review: Well, i was first of all very interested in this product, and i still am, but i would have purchased it a long time ago if Amazon.com would have fixed an error with this page. When i try to add this speaker system to my shopping cart, it just sends me to a page which tells me that my shopping cart is empty. I have e-mailed Amazon.com twice, and called once (the representative said they were aware of this problem and would have it fixed shortly), and it still hasn't been fixed.... weeks later. I noticed today that the price has dropped another 15 dollars, and i still can't buy it. I'm getting aggrivated. I would add a lot more stars if i could actually purchase the thing.

Review: When it worked, this thing was pretty nice. However, i got the same problems as some others. First they said they lost my rebate and there was really no way to contact them. Second, this thing died on me! The main unit doesn't work any more - although the headphone jack still works - that's about it! I'm gonna avoid all yamaha speakers from now on.
