Rating: Summary: Great Sound! Review: I recently purchased an ATP3 from a local dealer. The moment I plugged it in I was overwhelmed by the performance. I'm really satisfied with the product, and this indeed is a good buy considering the high quality and low price tag!!
Rating: Summary: Crystal Clear Review: I just received my speakers today and couldn't wait to hook them up! After all of the reviews I read on here, and after owning the same pair of Altec Lansing's for 6 years I knew these would be even better....and they are! I had no doubt that I would purchase another pair of Altec Lansing speakers, but these have far exceeded my expectations. The sound is clear, distinct, and the bass (if you want it) is boomin'! And, for the price you can't get another pair of speakers with near the sound quality. Not to mention they look really sexy (if a speaker can look that way). I think more people will be tuning in to Altec speakers once they hear the kind of sound they produce. Nothing else I've heard is comparable.
Rating: Summary: Tips for quality sound from ATP3 Review: I used ATP3 for 2 years. Adquate volume, fair sound for this price range, nothing to complaint. Your desk is the key for your sound performance. Mid range drivers are located beneath the speaker stands. Music reflects from your desk. Sound quality mainly depends on the desk material. Best performance achieved when you put them on hard wooden surfaces. Avoid metal desks. Put the sub-woofer near a corner or under your desk. This is very important. Sound quality will improve lots.
Rating: Summary: 2.1 never sounded better Review: for the price and for only 2.1, you can't get anything better than these! full bass, good mid's, plenty of tweeter. they also play louder than I ever would want them to play off of my computer. If I were still in college, I would have used these and my computer as my system. I am no slouch for stereo hardware either! But college is a space place and these take almost none! but dont' take my word for it, read these other great reviews!
Rating: Summary: AWESOME PRODUCT! Grrrrrrreat buy! A++ Review: This is definately an awesome buy. I found these when they first came out for $200, who knows what they are now. The bass on this is so nice! The speakers also provide nice, crisp sound. No buzzing or humming at all! Look at all the other great ratings for this product. This is such an awesome product that I would reccomend buying two if you have two computers. In fact, these are so good that I am using the specs from these to look for some speakers for my car. They provide the perfect amount of kick (in the bass), and perfect clarity and sound. I love this product!! :)
Rating: Summary: Best speakers for your PC/laptop Review: If you are looking for affordable, compact, good sounding and solid speakers for your PC then ATP-3 is perfect. It doesn't have any special features just volume control, treble and bass on the speaker itself. Works very well for mp3, movies and other simple things. Its isn't for home-theater-system or 6-speakers-game-type. But its one of the best 2-speaker model out there. Been using ATP3 for almost 2 yrs now and very happy with them. Worth each and every penny you will spend on them!
Rating: Summary: GREAT speaker system for the buck! Review: I purchased these to replace the A-L 220's I used for listening to my portable audio devices (mp3, cd, cassette), and, I must say, I am really impressed with the sound that comes out of these tiny things. The subwoofer really makes a difference with the powerful bass that it provides. The speakers provide a full sound from the highs to the lows. There are controls for bass and treble on the left speaker, and these were a breeze to set up. Although there is no headphone plug in, I figure with my intended use I can always plug in to the device itself. This is a great listening experience without having to use the headphones for these devices.
Rating: Summary: After a Million tests, these were IT! Review: ... these are the BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST speakers (2.1) ... In fact these are next best speakers i've listened to next to the Klipsch and the Logitech 560(?, the THX)... I'm not the audio tech supreme but i have a GOOD and DEMANDING ear and these speakers are the shiznit, plain and simple. For [the price], I say you don't even have a choice. just get them. Some reviews criticize midrange but as i said unless you're ready to cough up the [bucks] for higher end solutions the buck stops here. And for what its worth althought the Klipsch rock, the cones make the sound too harsh and in your face for my ears (great for dance and rock). I like a wider soundstage (Radiohead), where i can follow all the instruments and layers. These deliver. Enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Good Quality for a Good Price Review: I don't play games or require surround sound on my laptop, but I DO like to turn on Internet Radio at a low to moderate volume while I work, and the Polk Audio speakers in my laptop just weren't cutting it. Based on other reviews, and some looking around, I opted for this system, with no regrets at all. Sound quality is terrific, with good highs and thumping lows that make jazz, blues, or talk radio sound as good as sitting in the studio. I've not had any problems with highs sputtering or dropping out, but then, I'm not prone to cranking it up terribly high when listening to radio. I have noticed a tendency when playing DVDs to need to knock the sound up a bit, but that's no great hassle. I did have a bit of a problem with squeal and a somewhat muted sound, until I went into the Volume Control menu on my laptop and muted both the microphone and telephone functions -- sound improved MARKEDLY (I had a similar issue with the Altec Lansing 220 system, my "backup" speakers). So if it seems you're always hearing your cooling fan amplified, check those functions and knock 'em down a notch or two, or mute them altogether. I also tend to get a slight buzz in the speakers if I leave them plugged in, even when the computer is off. Typical of Altec Lansing, setup is a breeze, with everything color coded so you don't lose your place. The speakers look suitable cool sitting on your desk, almost like two hovercraft, with good volume controls on the right speaker that aren't too touchy. I fussed a bit with the subwoofer to find a place where I wouldn't kick it over or muffle it on a carpeted floor (I eventually settled for placing it on a piece of cardboard under the desk so it wouldn't fire right into the rug). Amazon has some of the best prices going on this set of speakers, and while it doesn't qualify for Super Saver Shipping, you'll still pay less for them than you might at Best Buy or Staples. I know others make demands on their speakers for a wide variety of reasons -- gaming, sound editing, or what have you -- but for a music listener, these babies work just fine.
Rating: Summary: Exceeded my expectations Review: I don't usually write reviews but when I started looking for some speakers I read some favorable reviews on this product. When it finally arrived and I hooked it up, and WOW , it was just so powerful I couldn't believe it. I have a new home theater system I just setup and I have to say I wish it was as robust as this set of speakers. For the price of these speakers you will certainly get your moneys worth. Brings new life to some of my old CD's. Great product, I highly recommend it.
