Rating: Summary: Best 4.1 Speakers Review: The Altec Lansing AVS500 are the best 4.1 speakers in the market. You cant go wrong with them. The surround sounds really good and the 14 watt subwoofer delivers realistic bass.
Rating: Summary: Great for what it is Review: The AVS300 produces great sound for the money. It's slightly short on power if you like to turn the music up though - (however you can compensate for this by turning up your computer's volume which will feed a more powerful signal to the AVS300). In all fairness, most units on the market in the low to midrange end are a little low on power except in the area of the subwoofer - where some more expensive ones can blow you out. However, if you are willing to spend a few dollars more, in my opinion the Logitec Z340 speaker set had noticably superior sound both in quality and volume in both the midrange and subwoofer (perhaps because it has a little more power - but the midrange seemed more open and full and the bass tones more accurate and full). I think it's worth the extra money myself having heard them both. A little quibble though is that the subwoofer on the Logitec has a big round steel cover with a large chrome metal ring. In my opinion the subwoofer would have looked more attractive with standard speaker cloth. I think they wanted it to look more powerful which it is. Again, the sound of the Altec AVS300 is great sound for the money and anyone would be foolish to buy standard speakers instead of this unit.
Rating: Summary: A LOT OF BANG FOR THE BUCK! Review: The AVS300 speaker system is, I think, a remarkable buy! The sound is crisp and clean with ample bass reproduction. It is very simple to set up. Once installed, take them through the paces with a program like "Windows Media Player" or "Winamp" where you can make use of a graphic equalizer. I found these speakers performed well through the entire range of sound. Perhaps they lack the power you may be seeking but taking into account these are COMPUTER (not stereo) speakers, they perform really quite well! When you rate performance compared to cost, I doubt you can beat the AVS300's!
Rating: Summary: Does one deserve so much performance for so little money?! Review: The sound of these speakers are outstanding. Solid and dynamic bass response. Natural sounding midrange that is not nasal sounding at all. Crisp, clear highs that don't bother your ears like other inexpensive speakers sometimes can. If you buy these speakers you might feel like a fugitive from the law, because to have sound reproduction this good for the money, they are just barely legal.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Speakers Review: These are wonderful speakers. Excellent sound reproduction. The subwoofer has a separate knob for upping and lowering the bass; the satellites have their own volume control. I sometimes listen to music rather loud (now playing: Sheryl Crow's "Soak Up the Sun") and have yet to hear any distortion. In other words, these rock! I wholeheartedly recommend them.
Rating: Summary: Amazing COMPUTER SPEAKERS Review: These speakers are amazing. I was so surprised by the sound quality from the first moment I turned these on. For the price they can't beat. They are simple and provide more than enough volume, bass and power for listening to music or watching dvds. There is no need to spend a fortune on computer speakers. These are perfect!!!
Rating: Summary: Very Clean Audio Review: These speakers came much lighter than I axpected. A decent size to use on a computer desk, with control nobs easy to access and use. Much better quality sound than I expected. It's loud and crisp. I'm very happy.
Rating: Summary: Worth spending on it! Review: This Item is absolutly worth until the last penney. A great value for its price. I hooked it up to my TV and my computer, it works great.
Rating: Summary: Good Price And Perfect Quality Review: This Item is very good with its nice price. Excellent sound quality enough for music lovers. But Just Only white colored.
Rating: Summary: Good sound but they don't turn off Review: When I got these home I loved the sound. Then I hit the on/off button and it killed the volume but I could still hear white sound coming out of the speakers. So I tried contacting the company to no avail. I took them back to the retailer thinking they were faulty and got another pair. But they too did the same thing. It's a design flaw. As soon as you plug the wall adapter in you hear a "HISS" coming from them even before you turn them on! I returned them for another companies speakers that will turn off. I wonder how much energy they use if you keep them plugged in all day.I guess the only way to stop it is to constantly unplug them...
