Summary: great unless they blow
Review: They worked great untill about a month after I got ehm the sub overheated and I had to send them in and it goot forever to get them back, so unless something goes wrong they're fantastic.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Some useful information ...
Review: Pros:
1) Excellent sound quality with thunderous bass!
2) Cheap for the performance you are getting (and the [money] rebate)
3) You don't really feel the need for a center channel (for 5.1 sound)

Cons:
1) Cheap speaker connectors with openings that are not even wide enough to accommodate Monster Cable speaker wires.
2) Short subwoofer cord so you cannot put the subwoofer in a not too far corner. And since it is a custom connector that hooks up the control to the subwoofer, it won't be easy to find an extension cord.
3) Headphone plug keeps popping out when induced with a slight tug (cheap headphone socket?)

Verdict:
What are you waiting for? With the [money] rebate and free shipping, this is the best price on the Web. If you have a problem with the Cons that I listed, you can always pay >[money] extra for the Klipsh 4.1s

Review:

This is a complete steal. These speakers, with THX Approved sound are the best speakers on the market in the 4.1 range. With 400 watts continuous power, there is no need to be worried about not having it lound enough. Go to any site, and ask anyone who has them, THEY ARE THE BEST.

A Recent reviewer mentioned that the only downside to this system is that they are only 4.1, not 5.1 or 6.1, but they are still better quality than most 5.1 and 6.1 systems out! They supass klipsch, labtec, monsoon, everything!

You really should get these!

Summary: You get what you pay for...
Review: These speakers continuously go down in price. I looked at the system and asked myself "Why would a 400 watt system with 4.1 THX certification continue to drop in price if it's as great as everyone says it is?"

Because it isn't as great. The satellites function as well as any other high-priced digital system: clear highs, solid mids, no distortion. The bass, however, is another story.

Sure, it's powerful - but too much bass comes through the satellites, distorting any other sound you're trying to get. Not to mention the frequency range on the sub is horrible...most systems in this category sport a bottom range of 5-10 hz, while this one bottoms out at 30, which is embarassing.

Even worse, these speakers will NOT do it for parties...of any size. Pushing this system even remotely close to its max power will result in your sub dying instantly. Even fiddling too much with equalization will kill your sub - I turned up the bottom frequencies with my ampless mixer and the sub had issues, with lots of popping. The second day I owned this system, the sub was dead - and I hadn't even pushed the limits.

But...if you're a non-savvy home user who just wants to be able to hear big booms from their movies, have it it. Just remember - you get what you pay for. Everyone else, kick in the extra cash and go for Altec Lansing 641s...which hold up admirably in every category these fail in.

Summary: Excellent 4.1 speakers, but better is out there
Review: I am a real audiophile, and I have gone in depth in testing and approving these speakers. What I can say is:

These speakers are a much later addition to the high end 4.1 market. They have excellent 4 inch drivers in each satelite and measure up to 400 watts of TRUE outburts power, NOT like klipsch's power ratings, which only are as high as they are with SOME audio.

What makes these speaers so attractive is their price to performance ratio. You will probably NEVER find such a deal in computer speakers. These speakers are MUCH better sounding than the Klipsch 4.1 but cost about seventy dollars less!

There is one problem with these speakers, although. The fact is, the sound industry is already producing 6.1 speakers! These are a little out of date, but they are still excellent and will last you a long time. Although, Logitech has just released two new additions to their computer speakers. The Z-640, a somewhat digital, very low end 5.1 speaker system has been added, and the Z-680 has also been added. The Z-680 is a great rivalry of the Klipsch 5.1s. I ditched those Klipsch's for thhe Z-680s, and boy do they sound great! They are digital, come with a remote control, and have a control pod, 450 watts of sound, and an excellent and better subwoofer.

So, do I recommend these speakers to audiophiles? No. Do I recommend these speakers to gamers? Quite possibly, yes. But people must understand that 4.1 is a bit out dated now. You can get 5.1 speakers for this kind of money, but none as powerful as this 4.1 system. There is better, but these are the perfect speakers for someone that wants excellent sound for games and music on a budget. If you are looking for EXTREME gaming, possibly you should check out some of the newer 6.1 systems, like the creative ones (note that those speakers can only run on a 6.1 sound card like the Creative Audigy 2's!). If you are looking for gaming, movies, and music, may I suggest, if you can afford it, a Z-680 system or a Klipsch 5.1 system. Again, if you can't afford any higher than 200 dollars, than a low end 5.1 system, or these speakers will definately fit your needs.

Summary: Logitech Z560 4.1 THX speakers
Review: I've had my set for a week and they are great. Sound quality is par with the Klipsch set, but the price is well below. That was one qualifying factor that made me jump on these. My friends have the Klipschs and I cannot tell the difference in sound.

Another great feature that logitech includes is the reversible stands. They easily become wall mountable with the included allen wrench. However, you cannot change the angle the speakers point. Klipsch makes a "proprietary" mounts that you have to purchase from them.

Klipsch sets use a 'stereo' type plug on the back of their speakers, so you if you want longer cords, you'll have to buy from them. The speaker wires that are included with Logitech set may be a bit short, but there are no plugs so you can use any speaker wire including various gauges.

The separate control pod is very useful so you can even mount the front speakers out of reach (unlike klipsch where sound control is built on a front speaker).

These speakers sound EXTREMELY great, they are much cheaper, and you will not likely have to dump more money into them. Even my friend said he wish he could switch and get the Z560's. Don't make his mistake.

Summary: Great deal!!!
Review: I've had these speakers for 5 months now and I think they are worth more than the $[money] I paid. They're well built and sound great. I don't think you can find a better deal than these! I have them hooked up to my laptop and I play mp3's and they sound excellent. I highly recommend the Logitech Z560's!

Summary: Rockin!
Review: These speakers ROCK! 400 watts, 200 for the sub alone, 50 per channel. I sit here typing this review playing music through these speakers while a stereo system (a real one, not a glorified boombox.) sits behind me, dormant. these speakers are excellent. the early sub-blowout problems with these have been ironed out.

anyone who wants highend speakers for a PC will have these recommended to them by me. If you try them with the "Eagles : Hell Freezes Over" concert DVD you will be HIGHLY impressed. only a midlevel home theater system could match these. the Z560s can crush a lowball hometheater system and still have enough power to beat down a few more. you can hang the speakers on the wall by reversing the speakers mounts. they send you a nice allen wrench with the set to do this. they ship in a BIG box.. and the system is heavy, use proper lifting rules. Bend the knees not the back.

a few notes on use. to mimizie hiss keep the control pods volume low(point the line at the other knobs) and set the windows volumes master, wave, ect. until they are at a comfortable level(around 30-40% for me). no hiss! The "fader" is really just a control for the rear speakers volume, it will not affect the fronts. thats it.. oh, leave the windows bass setting at the middle(default) you can use the windows treble control to set it to a good level as the speakers dont have this control.

Pros :
Great sound
Reversable speaker mounts.
Kicking bass!
THX Certified.
The box is bigger than you expect ;)

Cons :
Fader is mislabled, should be called Rear Volume.
The box is heavier than you expect ;)

Summary: A Big Problem Fixer
Review: I bought these speakers about a month ago on a trip to the States and as with quit a few other people my woofer stopped working... Well instead of sending it back I first had my friend check it out. turns out all it was was a small connection to the fuse, which is (while facing the back of the woofer) on the left side wall, came loose. This may or may not be your problem but if it is its very easy to fix... so dont waste time and money with shipping the thing.

I give this product 5 stars because It is a quality made product for a price that will blow your mind... if it dosnt the subwoofer surley will.
