Summary: Not at all what I expected
Review: I am a pretty picky person when it comes to my sound equipment. The last theater system was the "bose acoutimass" so my expectations are a little high. I read the reviews on these speakers so I decided to try them. First of I didnt think the box would be so huge. The subwoofers enclosure is huge. And the satellites had a good weight to them. But when I hooked it up I was shocked. These things sounded perfect. They have very strong bass. And the satellites are crystal clear. And playing my xbox on it is unreal. This system actually sounds better than my bose. So anyone who is looking get these. for the price it almost seems like a missprint.

Summary: Speachless!!!!
Review: This were the best speakers I have heard for the price. It even beat higher priced speakers I looked at. They are above and beyond what I expected. I use these for listening to all genres of music and playing video games. The sound puts you in to the action of whatever you are doing!The satellite speakers are just over 8" in height. The subwoofer is huge something I would never expect to see. The sound is amazing. I just can't get over the great price these are at for what you get. The controller is also great and very stylish. Able to control the vitals of the speakers. Great heavy metal stand also! Altec Lansing made an absolute winner with these speakers! Now it is your turn to buy these and experience them!

Summary: GREAT SOUND!!! Questionable build quality!
Review: They sounded absolutely fantastic for the first 2 months.. .but after that.. the internal amp fizzled out. I have the unit on a surge suppressor... and I never over-played the unit or got the volume to high. I am very dissappointed. The good news is, I contacted Altec and they said they are going to put in a RMA to get them replaced. Maybe I'll have them again by March...

Summary: Excellent Speakers!
Review: The sole reason for the four stars is the remote. It is the only "annoying" feature, especially since it would only cost Altec Lansing a few more dollars to change the remote to a wireless one. Otherwise, these speakers represent an excellent value. I used the suggestion of one of the spotlight reviewers and connected the speaker system to my DVD player, set at virtual surround sound. In my sister's words, "It sounds just like a movie theater!" Good job, Altec. My suggestion: buy them immediately as soon as they come out with a wireless remote, or otherwise they will be sold out.

Summary: Dont put your floppy's on the sub - they will be erased!
Review: OK, these have some power. Not only that, they sound great. They are a bit heavy on the highs and lows - but after a bit if tweaking you will have a perfect sounding system. Did I mention the power? Let's just say it will make your ears ring if you live in a single family house - and your neighbors hate you if you live in an apartment. One complaint (which is the sole reason for the 4 stars)...since I installed the speakers I have been picking up some radio/TV sounds in the rear speakers. I've changed the wires...still there. Changed the power supply, installed a filter for the power supply - still there, still there. I guess I'll invest in some pricy shielded speaker wire and see how that works....This is more than likely the result of living next to the many radio broadcast, and TV stations in D.C., so unless you live near me, you may not experience the same problem. All in all, these speakers are worth it.

Review: I bought these for my iMac at work based on customer recommendations on Amazon. I am very pleased with these speakers except for one thing---there is no EQ control. I find the speakers a bit bass heavy and it would be nice to cut a little bass and boost a little treble.

Summary: Great speakers for reasonable price
Review: This speaker system is wonderful!! The sound quality is very very good and the subwoofer is very powerful. It's definitely a keeper, for a long long time. Absolutely no complaints from this audio freak I love the remote control too. Now I can lie down on the nearby sofa and listen to audio programs with total control :) It has an auxiliary input jack on top of the subwoofer. This is a great function for me. With a good A/V selector (Sony's SB-V40S A/V Selector is the one I have, which has an Output 2 audio output with stereo mini jack), now I can also use this PC speaker system for my nearby 13" TV, DVD player, VCR, and camcorder. It's wonderful!! In general, great design and awesome sound!! I recommend it very strongly!!

Review: After reading all of the amazing reviews for these speakers I bought them. I never really understood how big this system was until I saw the box on the front porch. The subwoofer is massive, almost bigger than my computer tower. The speakers are relatively small and their style will go well with just about anything. Not only are the looks great, but they sound great too! The high and mid ranges sound great and the low frequencies are handled very well with the subwoofer. The setup was easy, and in about 10 minutes I was listening to a DVD with surround sound! Let me assure you that these are the speakers to get! Don't spend $300 on speakers... These sound just as good or better. Thanks to all the reviewers who encouraged my purchase, you helped me make the right choice!
