Summary: XXX-Rated
Review: Extremely clear highs, crisp midtones, and deeeeep base. Very balanced sound. This is emphasized even more by their chic looks. Don't forget the phallic factor!! All in all, You will be not be disapponted. Backed by Harmon Kardon reputation. Wish these were USB too.

There're just like candles -- nice and soft-- and when you start listening it's gonna get you off... Right. Can't wait to turn on my new pleasure machine. It's like, as if I never left my Bimmer.

ps In case you have a MAC check out the SoundSticks

Summary: clear,compact,cost effective
Review: great sounding speakers, sleek design, small satelites.powerful sub woofer, great highs, crisp midtones, driving bass. only things i don't like is +- on speaker does not have have numerical settings for volume 1-10, ok thats picky, but the on off control is on the subwoofer in the back on the bottom.it says to place it 2 feet from the monitor.i don't have a big table so i place it on the floor.so its a pain to bend down to the floor avery time i want to turn the speskers on or off. overall this system features excellent quality at a reasonable price.best bang for the buck.

Review: Hi everyone, I got this speakers from the Dell system. I upgrade my Dell speaker to this harmon kardon. The first time I opened the box that 2 sticks looks really cool.

Its so easy to install the speakers but the thing is the sound that comes out from these speakers. Don't ever try to turn on too loud because it will blow the 2 sticks. The sub works fine but not the sticks.

Summary: great for home theater
Review: Hooked up these great speakers to my DVD player. Incredible sound out of the little ones with nice bassy sound from the sub-woofer. Watch 'Saving Private Ryan' and it sounds like theres bullets flying around your head. Very very cool. You'll enjoy these on your PC or Home Theater system. You'll need the rc adapter to hook them up to your stereo though. Very happy.

Summary: Overpriced, Underperforming
Review: I bought the Champagne speakers and found that the sound is not as good as my $50 Yamaha speakers. This sound is not especially sharp or clear and there is a faint muffled noise in the background.

Summary: Please don't buy these
Review: I ordered these as optional speakers with my new Dell computer. They worked fine for 1 yr and almost 5 months. Then for some reason I have yet to determine, they started blowing the fuse. The sound quality I thought (for music) was average at best. I just think that with a name like HK on them they should have lasted a lifetime and not barely past the warranty period. Don't buy them!

Summary: Keep on Lookin . . .
Review: I received these speakers as a birthday present from friends to accompany my laptop. Ever since I bought an iBook and found the ability to rip mp3's and never have to mess with CDs again, I promptly sold my stereo and planned on buying a nice set of speakers to replace it. Keep in mind, when I received these, they were priced at roughly [$$$], and I've dealt with Harman/Kardon before, being more or less pleased with them, so I figured to give them a shot. I've had them for a few months now and notices a few key points:
•Subwoofer lacks in bass
Not only is the bass not very loud, the volume doesnt stay flat for as low of a frequency as they advertise.
•6 watts a satellite.... hmmmm...
Not much power at all. I use these speakers in my room, in a house shared with 3 other family members. This means I hardly ever get a chance to 'crank' them up. So even if you just plan on using them in a dorm room... well MAYBE they'd work in a dorm room, but you have to keep them LOW to avoid distortion.
•Midrange
To me, midrange sound is the most important part of the whole listening experience. This is exactly why I plan on leaving the next 2 lines blank... because there IS no midrange... a definate no-no

Thats about it, it's not an all around good speaker. I did notice that if you use them for multimedia, perhaps watch a DVD, they do tend to work well for that, especially the build in 'surround' knob, but i tend to find that annoying for music...

Summary: Impressive
Review: I received these speakers for my birthday last October, since my friends were tired of hearing my complaints about the awful speakers my computer came with. They truly are the best computer speakers I have heard priced at less than $$$. They have a very neutral sound, i.e. non-boomy bass, smooth mids, and crisp but not overly bright treble. The frequency response is also impressively flat overall, aside from a small dip in the lower midrange, which I have noticed with every computer speaker system. The gain limiting is very good, as the speakers can be at full volume with little to no distortion. They sound at least a million times better than a Bose Acoustimass system. I have noticed that they get grainy when the equalization isn't flat and the surround setting is turned up, so just keep those set to the middle, keep the EQ on your computer off and prepare to be blown away. My nit to pick...Satellites tip over somewhat easily, so place them carefully.
