Summary: Great Sound
Review: Hooked it up to my Mac Powerbook and was immediately impressed. Set up is typical of any speaker system. The bass and mid-range are nice and tight as expected. Great plus are the main volume and subwoofer dials are on one of the satellite speakers and come with an option for wall mounting. Off switch is on the subwoofer which I have on the floor. Not convienent at all but not enough to lower my 5 star rating. I compared the JBL Soundsticks and the Monster set popular with the Apples and believe these are a great alternative.

Summary: Most Reliable EVER!!!
Review: I recently purchased this Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 System and I can't believe how perfect they sound. And not only are they perfect, but they are sturdy, they look and feel like they could take quite a beating, but hey, with all that bass power they really do need to be sturdy, lol. I strongly suggest this system if you are looking for a computer upgrade. I love 'em.

Summary: A great 2.1 solution
Review: I have used many sets of 2.1 speakers, and these are the most accurate set I have had. Although expensive, the price is worth it because the bass is very tight for music, and the mids and highs are very accurate. Using low bit-rate mp3's with this set is not a good idea, because every compression error is audible. The only negative is that the speaker wires are too thin, but they can be upgraded.

Summary: Sounds awesome, needs tweaking
Review: I bought the 2.1 version about one year ago. For the first six months I was only able to get one speaker and the subwoofer to work, but after I replaced the connectors to the sub and my pc I've had no problems. Did I mention they sound awesome!

Summary: Good sound, but is there quality?
Review: I received my speakers a month ago and the sound quality is greater than my previous altec lansings. My big complaint though is the line connections between the sub and speakers. They don't seem to make a perfect connection and if moved, I either lose sound in the speaker, the sound dims, or get crackling. Not sure if others have had this problem.

Summary: Great sound, poor reliability.
Review: Unfortunately, all of the review that quote this system as having great sound, but lacking reliability have proven quite true. Having spoken with a friend, I found he has run across reliability issues with these in the past as well. It seems Logitech might be king of the hill now. I will see if my Klpisch speakers are salvageable, but I'm not holding out too much hope.

Summary: Great speakers, awful reliability -- Avoid!
Review: I was delighted with my speakers up until about a month ago. I have them hooked up to my PC and the sound quality is awesome -- rich and clear. However, my opinion changed about a month ago when the system died. All of a sudden, when I switched the system on, all I got was intermittent clicking. I sent an email in to Klipsch ProMedia technical support with the symptoms and everything I had done to troubleshoot and the answer came back almost immediately 'Unfortunately, the transistor inside the subwoofer has gone out. Please contact the returns department to arrange an exchange or a repair'. Apparently, this is a fairly common problem with this speaker system. My experience with returns has been poor. It took almost two weeks after initial contact for them to email me to say that a FedEx slip is in the mail for me to return my system for a replacement. Hopefully I'll get a new system and everything will work correctly, but for how long, I wonder? Klipsch have worked hard to make their name synonomous with quality, but based on my experience (and the experience of many other purchasers, I have learned since my system died), this is simply not true with this speaker system. The asking price is a lot of money to spend on a speaker system and I expect much better than this.

Review: When it came time to buy a new computer, the two things I was most concerned with getting right were the monitor and speakers. Some pals at the Home Theater Forum recommended a few speaker options for me, these being one set. After glancing at the specs for a few of them I went with the ProMedias. The THX certification played a big part in my decision, too. While I find their certification of DVDs to be practically meaningless, when you see their logo on hardware you know you're getting a quality product. With that in mind, here's the story. Musical reproduction is incredible for a set of computer speakers. The problem with most such speakers is the weak midrange: you have your highs and lows, but not much in between. Not so with the ProMedias. Here, the midrange helps to create a surprisingly full sound. The subwoofer will give you all the low frequency you need for music(well, unless you're a fan of the pipe organ). I find highs harder to judge, but I haven't experienced any harshness or distortion. Movie sound is a completely different animal. Since this is only a 2.1 system you don't have the center or surrounds to reproduce the more intricate soundtracks, but it's lightyears ahead of anything a TV could produce. The subwoofer has enough power to vibrate the walls of a reasonably sized room, but I wouldn't recommend cranking up "The Fellowship Of The Ring" or "Saving Private Ryan". This isn't an SVS we're talking about; it doesn't go that low. As for games, they don't contain much in the way of natural sound, so it's hard to judge performance based on them. That said, I don't have any complaints in this category, either. There's one thing that's crucial to getting the most out of this system: subwoofer placement. An area where the sound has hard surfaces to reflect off of is best. More reflections means increased transparency. Personally, I keep mine under my desk, down by my feet. Getting the volume right is important, too. Too little bass and your music will sound hollow; too much and it overwhelms the other frequencies. Get it right and you won't even know the sub is there. The only complaint I have is in regard to the included wire: it's extremely small and the plugs can be somewhat picky when it comes to positioning. Speakers of this quality certainly deserve better. Fortunately, Klipsch has replacements, courtesy of Monster Cable, available for sale on their website(thanks to "a_r_capax" for mentioning this). I haven't purchased them as of yet, but Monster Cable has a good reputation, so I'd say it's a safe bet. There's really not much left to say, is there? If you do most of you're music listening on your PC, like I do, you're going to want a set of quality speakers, even if that means paying a bit more than average. The Klipsch ProMedias are one case where you really do get what you pay for.

Summary: This system is good for games only...
Review: First of all my name is Joe and I am 6' feet tall. I am used to real sound like hardcore music at all times. This system had me dissapointed because when I was playing the song "Elvisd is Dead" from The By2Bikers the speakers blew off out of the casing almost hitting my cat who was right beside the speakers enjoying the beats... Anyway its good overall, but I should suggest don't drink while listening to music so loud cause it is not good for the tympanic membrane of the aureola maximus.

Review: Had to send it back to Klipsch TWICE! The sub keeps going out. Finally went to Logitech to get a system that would work reliably for more than a month.
