Summary: Far exceeded my expectations
Review: (...) I would never believe I could be as pleased listening to internet radio over inexpensive speakers like these if I didn't hear it with my own ears.

Like some of the other posters have suggested, it's a good idea to turn the subwoofer all the way down, and use the equalizer in Winamp/Windows Media etc to lower the bass further (starting and increasing from 1K or 600 on down). I also taper off the high end a bit, as these speakers are a little bright. But the result is absolutely superb, and extremely satisfying.

They would be worth it without the rebate, but for $28.99 after rebate, they are a screaming buy.

Summary: Listen to the fat bass
Review: Everything else in this produc is fine expect the subwoofer. Well it really has a fat sound, in matter of fact it is too loud and the annoying thing is that you cannot even turn it off. Even on the lowest bass settings it keeps annoying rumble and will annoy the hell out of your down stair neighbours... If you love fat bass and concert house reverb this is for you but otherwise get anoyher one!

Summary: Great Sound & Value For Your Money
Review: First off, I want to say that Amazon is one of the greatest resources for pretty much anything. Fast shipping, below retail prices and they are extremely reliable. Now, on to the review. These speakers were more than I expected, especially for the price. The subwoofer is solid wood and recreates the lows quite well. The satellites are well above average, and create sweet sound when playing most types of music, and when playing games. They do seem to get a little overwhelmed when multiple instruments are being played in tandem, and aren't made for loud rap, but most music and games sound wonderful when played. Even with the EQ off, they sound amazing, with a wide soundstage. If you want studio or reference sound, you will not find them in any speakers made for the PC. 1. Great Price. 2. Great Sound. 3. Great seller. Skip the Z-340. Buy these now!!!

Summary: Good sound, quirky design.
Review: Great sound for the money. The compact size of the satellites is perfect for today's minimalist desktop layouts.

The downsides I found are the cabling: The satellite has three cables coming out of it: one for the left speaker, one for the subwoofer, and one for connecting the computer. I would rather have the cables go to the subwoofer first, and then up to the satellite. So, my desk isn't as "cable clean" as I'd like it.

The other downside, which has been noted as "designed this way" on Logitechs support website is that the volume knob does NOT control the headphone volume. You have to use windows software for that, which is silly.

Summary: Good for the $$$
Review: Hey, they're 50 bucks. What do you expect for that price? For this price, they provide decent sound, play loud enough for most environments, have good bass response, and decent highs. It's hard to criticize for the price. If you think you're an audiophile, you shouldn't be buying $50 speakers anyway. Break out some serious greenbacks and buy something that is designed for your "discriminating ear".

Summary: Fantastic sound for any price.
Review: I am amazed at the sound this inexpensive speaker system provides. Great highs and lows that are more then adequate for most needs.

Summary: Flawed; defective
Review: I bought this based on reviews. The first one came dead on arrival. Amazon took it back no problem. I have the second one now and the left speaker goes in and out. I'm too lazy to send it back. Besides, I threw away the original packaging.

Summary: great buy.. what's wrong with the sub?
Review: I don't know about some of the reviewers in here.. but why buy a subwoofer powered system if you're scared of a little bass? Yeesh.. Despite what the faint of heart say the bass is not _that_ overpowering and compliments the satellites quite nicely. This is one of the best deals ive had with average consumer audio equipment. How can you go wrong for 30$?

Summary: Just nice
Review: I had owned z-2200 for a while (they really kick ass), and was looking for smaller, but still good-sounding speakers, since the z-2200's was too much to carry around to friends among my computer (I rather use speakers than headsets).
So, I had read a lot of reviews about the Logitech x-220 speakers, and it seemed to be just what i was looking for.

I don't have that much money you see :).

I bought it, got home, and connected it to the TV. Yes, you heard right - the TV.
The sound was really good, but the subwoofer lacked very low frequency bass. That wasn't noticeably disturbing at all at normal listening, but when compared to the z-2200's, you can hear that when listening at distances this system maybe isn't the best.

Then I tried the speakers to my computer, and i must say that the sound is much better. No doubt, it's because you're closer to the speakers when sitting at your computer.

So for a computer speaker system, these have all that it takes to give you a nice experience when gaming, or when listening to music (film also).
But when watching movies at yout TV, you may need something that sounds just bigger. This also made me realize that my z-2200's maybe are too good for using at computers.

I am very pleased with the speakers. A good buy.

Summary: Not perfect but good value.
Review: I purchased a prior unit Acoustic Authority® A-3640RB from Office Depot and I couldn't hear bass-lines in my music. Just a "punch" of bass instead of a tone. I was impressed at the cheap price and i could also hear the bass-lines.

It is also easy to take the Bass down if it is too much by using the EQ on Winamp or your program.
