Summary: Tons of sound for very little money.
Review: (...). For the money I don't think you can find a system that puts out as much sound as this set. Yes the sub can be overbearing but from what I hear booming past my house as cars go by this must be very popular. I have these set up on my gaming machine and they have been more than I expected for my (...)clams. Music isn't bad either but if your a true Music aficionado you will be spending more money for better range. (...)

Summary: Logitech is better
Review: Creatives are good speaker but when it matches up to Logitech they do not match up. 1st of all Logitech's x-220's have a larger and louder sub than these. The speakers are not made of plastic as someone wrote they are made of pure solid WOOD. the sound of the two brands shouldnt even be compared. Logitechs speakers have much better LOUDER CLEARER sound! Logitech x-220s sub has 20.4 watts while the t 2900 has 17 watts. The bonus about creatives is that you may take the covers off! But i still honestly say if you want a louder sound system go with logitech!! Logitech x-220s have a output power of 64 watts while these T 2900's have a output power of 60 watts! and the style of the x-220s looks sleeker and more desighned. The creatives look all the same like all of the other sound systems. But if style and loudness doesnt bother you than purchase these since the have decent sound and the have a built in tweeter.

Summary: wow
Review: deciding that something had to replace my terrible 10 year old labtec speakers, i ordered these. i wasn't particularly skeptical of them because i've had good experience with creative products and have read a number of articles about their stuff...

I was going to write a pro/con thing, but I can't really think of many cons. The speakers are an ideal size-- about 3/2 the size of my old speakers... the front part is also removable, through i'm not entirely sure why. it looks neat, i guess. the subwoofer is rather large, but it fits nicely under my desk. I was worried that the i/o cables might not be long enough to run around my desk, but they're an entirely adequate length.

the sound is also great. loud, distortion-free, and incredible bass.

The Pod is truly ingenious-- I plug my iPod in and also have the speakers plugged into my computer, so I recieve sound from both sources. the only quibble i have with it is that it has a kinda cheap feel-- the volume and bass dials. A brushed aluminum/steel design (whatever the silvery parts of the rest of the system is) would be more becoming to the Pod itself and would also probably be better quality than cheap plastic parts... eh well. it's a minor complaint, though, since the Pod is otherwise entirely convenient and functional.

a must have for those who don't want a ridiculous number of speakers on their desk or an exorbitant system...

Summary: First things first
Review: First things first: I rate things in the absolute. Giving these more than 3 stars is difficult for me. But, if I could, I'd give them 3.5 stars. No way would I give them 5.

Lets start with the problems (they are not many). The subwoofer is way too loud. WAY TOO LOUD. I do not know who decides on this matter at Creative but they went way too far. The second one as to do with the little pod (which has its positive sides, I'll come back to that later on). Since the sub is so loud, it would have been interesting to be able to control it in a much more subtle way. My dial rarely, if ever, is in more than 5% position. Last thing: people should think of these for what they are. Very cheap replacements to the small desktop speakers we normally get with cheap computers. They have nothing to do with high fidelity (I don't understand how people give them 5 stars). They are very week on the low mid-range.

As I was writing earlier, they do have their fare number of qualities to. For this price, the sound is very good. Way much better than what people normally get with low-end computers or for every 2.0 speaker sets that I've heard. When you get to control the bass level, they can get quite pleasant and even more at a relatively high volume. On the plus side is the fact that the pod is at the end of a cable so you can control the bass level directly by placing it directly on your desk. The construction seems also rather good. The desktop speakers are heavy (for there size) and everything seems well constructed (a surprise for me at this price). In the end, they do sound great for the price. Do not expect greatness, especially if like in my case you are used to high fidelity speakers on your home system. They are great to listen to music while you are at your desk, and I guess that's what's important. As for value, I guess I could give them a 4.5. The only real problem - up to now - is the bass level. A great improvement for not to much money.

Summary: Creative Lab's Inspire T2900 2.1 Speaker System
Review: For the money, you can't go wrong. They do what they were meant to do, and do it well. They are a major step up from the cheap speakers supplied with most computers. While they are not surround sound, they bring out sounds that are completely lacking on cheaper computer speakers. The satellite speakers are heavy and seem to be made very well. There is more than enough bass out of the subwoofer, to supply most needs I would think. They were tested on classical, folk, and rock music, and did well on all three. The 6 1/2' attached satellite cables were enough for my needs, but could be lengthened with extensions found in a computer supply store if needed. My only complaint like others, is that I wish that Creative Labs had put a treble control on their control pod, but over all I'm very satisfied with them.

Summary: Nice speakers, not so nice controls
Review: Had I written a review soon after I got them, I would have given five stars. After having them for a few months, I'm experiencing some weird volume control problems. All of a sudden volume would go up and down. I've been able to consistently get this weird effect when I move the remote controller. If you're wondering where they could have cut costs to bring you such nice speakers, then you should take a look at the RC's dials. Compare them to the nicer speaker sets. Knowing what I know, I would but a slightly more expensive set of speakers.

Summary: Great Buy
Review: I bought a set of these speakers with a rebate so my cost was very low, but these are well worth the regular price and then some. Bass is very solid and the highs and midrange are quite good. I like the remote on these because it replaces all controls that you normaly find on the rear of the subwoofer including the bass control and power.

Summary: disappointed with the sound
Review: I bought these speakers since the $49 price was right. When I got them home I was disappointed with the sound. Would they do? ..yes ...but I took them back and decided to pay a little more to get better sound quality. Back at a different store (which let's you listen to their speakers), I found that the Altec Lansing vs4121 sounded very nice (I'll probably get them).

Summary: IT WORKS
Review: I didn't buy these to take the place of my digital home system but I did buy these to replace the cheezy speakers that come with your computer. These work just fine if you want some bottom and highs for your games and music. They have a clear sound and I agree the bass is to strong for my taste, but I can adjust that with the attached remote. If you want to replace those speakers that come with your computer, do it. These are inexpensive and sound good. If this is all you have for sound then...

Summary: AMAZING
Review: i got these with the $20 rebate so they ended up being $25 and let me say, these are amazing.

the sound on them is so rich and amazing. the bass can really be cranked, and i'll admit i enjoy loud bass, but i actually had this turned down. the volume/bass control is amazing it also has a spot for headphones, line-out, and also certain devices.

i highly recommend this to everyone who wants to save money yet still receive deep bass and rich sound.
