Summary: DONT BY THESE SPEAKERS!!!
Review: DONT BY THESE SPEAKERS!!! I repeat DONT BY THESE SPEAKERS!!! They are passive which means they do not amplify the sound. They say good for walkmans, but you cant here them. Sound quality is OK. NO BASS! I bought these and I can hardly hear them when my walkman is on full power. This also waists ALOT of battery power. I conclude DONT BY THESE SPEAKERS!!!

Summary: You get what you pay for
Review: I paid $11 for my set, thinking they might help free up some space on my computer desk - my old speakers were huge blocks, though similarly priced at $15, and I had started noticing considerable loss in quality after 5+ years of use.

However, it was evident moments after I had them running that they weren't cut out for any sort of "power" use. These things are definitely CAPABLE of good sound quality, but if you try to make them loud, they'll get distorted very quickly.

However, I'm not sure this is the fault of the speakers themselves so much as the quality of the input. I'm going to try getting a small amp and seeing what happens then. But as-is, don't expect any miracles.

Summary: it's cheap and you don't get what you paid for.
Review: I was looking for speakers that i did not need an a/c adaptor for so that I could let other people hear my music and listen to it without being connected to the player by wires.

the pros:
-cheap
-very portable

the cons:
-too cheap
-volume roughly reaches voice level
-no bass (but what did you expect)
-poor sound quality (a didn't expect great sound quality, but no matter what volume i play at the sound has an echo sound like it's coming from within a tube or down a tunnel.

I opened them with a little hesitation thinking I'd only lose $10, but the minute i heard sound come from them i realized that was a quick $10 to drop. I wasn't looking for good speakers, but but i was hoping for passable ones.

Summary: Good sound
Review: If you want bass get bigger speakers. They are not loud but if you want loud get amplifiyed speakers.

Summary: Great for the office!
Review: If you're looking for small speakers at this price range, you shouldn't be expecting much. Given that, these light and small speakers do just the trick for the office if you want to listen to music sans headphones but not loud enough to get on your coworkers' nerves. Plus, these speakers don't need a dedicated power source and can run off the juice running through the input line. But like all disapproving homeboys, a little bass to shake some booty in the cubicle would've been nice.

Summary: Teeny sound, but very portable and cool
Review: The SR-SP7 portable speakers from Sony are cheap for a reason: they are "passive," meaning they do not use any power to amplify the sound output from your audio source. You can plug the pair in to any portable audio sources, like CD discman, MP3 player, portable DVD player, etc. Because the speakers do not have a built-in amplifier, the sound, albeit stereo, is quite soft and if you use them in a noisy environment, e.g., commuter train, you won't be happy. I personally use them for my audio books on weekends, when I take them to my local Dunkin Donuts and hook them up to my Panasonic CD/MP3 player and then enjoy the audio books while sipping my large DD coffee. These speakers do not need batteries or AC adapter, so they are very portable, and also look cool.

Summary: useless
Review: These speakers are truly useless. They are about one tenth the volume of my Mac's built in speaker, which means they defeat the purpose. Their packaging indicates they're designed for a walkman, though it didn't say that on the amazon site. I hope they're good for a walkman, because then at least they'd have some purpose. I found them in the computer speaker section on the amazon site, and for a computer they are useless.
