Summary: Great Sound w/o the 3-D
Review: If you're looking looking specifically for 3-D surround effect, don't buy these speakers. The effect is worthless. But without the effect, the speakers sound great for computer audio output. They have good bass and can really crank without distorting. I use them at the office and can get really clear audio at low volumes. In a nutshell, they're very good speakers and certainly much better than I expected for the price.

Summary: impressive for the price
Review: No one believes me when I tell them what I paid for my speakers. Clearly, there's a difference between this set and the amazing super-high-end ones, but I don't need a subwoofer attached to my PC. The original speakers that came with my system were little better than tin cans and string; the Labtecs provide a much richer sound spectrum that can easily compete with any standard shelf stereo system.
The covering is typical PC-plastic colored, with a darker neutral mesh covering--the curvy shape of each speaker is a little fancier than others in the price grouping, but the design is nothing exceptional.
I listen to music on my PC, and occasionally use it for gaming; in general, I treat the audio as a secondary system in the house. If you appreciate decent sound quality but aren't willing to shell out major bucks for speakers that aren't really crucial to your daily entertainment, you can't go wrong with this pair.

Review: Second speaker stopped working after 6 weeks. 2 weeks later, the other speaker dropped output by 50%. Waiting for the thing to just die any day now.
