Summary: A blend of features without much consideration
Review: I was looking for replacement speakers two weeks ago when I saw this product. It seemed attractive to me - cool shape, list of features, low price, and two 5-star reviews. "Why not" I said to myself. So I bought it.

I was excited when I got the package, and was immediately disappointed when I turned on the radio: the reception was terrible - even my tiny radio bought 10 years ago has better reception. The tuning is mechanical, which drifts away into noise within 30 seconds, makes me wondering if I'm working for SETI, and listening to noise is my duty. Philips, how much more will it cost you to add a digital tuning button to the box? 10 bucks? Fine, put it on and I'm willing to pay for that.

The fun part was when I turned on my computer while trying to find ET with my poor ears. All of a sudden I thought I find it! And ET was also using Windows! Almost gave me a heart attack, but luckily I found it's just my own computer playing behind the noise. Philips, how much more will it cost you to mute computer input when the radio is on? 10 bucks? Fine, add it on and I'm willing to pay for that.

Frankly speaking, I like the speakers, but not really like the radio, and I don't want to let the LCD clock tell me what time it is - without backlight that little dude is not gonna tell me anything unless I stare really hard into his face.

Can't wait for the warranty to expire, so that I can open it up - Adding a digital tuning might take some time, but switch off computer input when radio is on, and add a LED backlight for the LCD clock won't take me more than an hour, even though it is soooooooo hard for Philips engineers.

Summary: Much better than I thought
Review: Though it's only a 6-Watt speakers set, it's much more powerful and better sound than some other computer speakers of similar price, and most of them don't have a headphone connection like this one. The design is elegant and should match the office desktop or notebook very well. I should have picked up another set when it had a lower price.

Summary: Very good speakers - great price!
Review: When I first saw these speakers I thought it was a little silly to have an FM radio built-in but now that I have them I find myself using them all the time. The cool thing is that I can be listening to the radio and the sounds of my PC still come in over the music. The LCD clock just looks kinda cool too. These speakers are plenty powerful for my office. I've never been able to turn them up all the way but I like how they sound. At $19.99 it's hard to go wrong. I just bought a few more pairs as Christmas gifts. I recommend you give them a listen.
