Summary: Excellent sound system
Review: I overpaid :( i payed $99 at my local electronics store but these little speakers are AMAZING! the sound quality is so good and the sub-woofer is amazing! And they also look great :). They are increidbly easy to set up. I got these to replace my old Sony cd play with a 51 disk changer when i got my ipod because the sony took up way to much room. These are excellent speakers that can easily replace a bedroom stereo system. I highly reccomend gettint these speakers :)

Summary: Great Sound, Cool Looking, relatively cheap!
Review: I recently purchased these speakers around christmas to go with my new Apple Imac G5 that was my christmas present, and let me tell you, I am very pleased. The sound quality is great and they are really loud. And as an added bonus, they look awesome next to my Imac. These speakers are very cool. Get them. You can't beat these speakers unless you want to spend around 500 dollars

Summary: ahhhh..... Nice music with AWESOME bass
Review: Okay. These speakers are THE best speakers you can get for under 100 bucks. They have wonderful bass quality. (I can shake the house). They are about 3" x 3" and have the nice blue light under them. They take litterally no time to set up and they work with my iPod and iBook. They look like apple made them for this computer. If you have a PC they work great too. The heat sensitive volume control is really cool (even though I use the volume control on my computer). Overall these are great speakers for the money and have wonderful soudn quality. They also look great!

Summary: We come in peace, take us to your iMac.
Review: The Creatures are not the best sounding 2.1 speakers on the market, but they are the best looking. The lows are nice and powerful, with the bass sounding just right for most types of music, especially hip-hop, electronica, and the like. The speakers are also very good for films and video games, they sound robust and reproduce sound very accurately. The mid highs and highs are very sensitive and can become overwhelming but that can be overcome by slightly turning the treble down. There is a slight draw back and that is the Bass and Treble knobs on the woofer are not as incremental as they should be.

The Creature's real strength though is not in it's sound, there are some 2.1 systems that just sound better, but at their current price I see no real rival that sounds leaps and bounds better. The Creatures real strength is in their looks, these speakers are bar none the coolest looking you can get at any price, even better than the HK Soundsticks IMO. There are many cynics out there that believe that looks should be discounted when purchasing something with a single purpose like speakers, but that is simply not the case for most people. For people who love well designed things these little creatures are a god send. They perfectly complement the G4 and G5 Apple iMac and all Apple iPods.

At this price these speakers are a must have for any person who needs simple speakers and has discerning aesthetic tastes.

Summary: Gimmicky and stupid
Review: The only thing these speakers have going for them is their unusual appearance. The touch-sensitive volume control is needlessly complex (why would anyone consider it better than, say, a KNOB?), and offer no indication of how loud the volume is. The volume control stopped working entirely five minutes after I started using the speakers.

The bass was fine, but the sound was tinny and crackly no matter what I set the treble to. And the sound quality is downright awful from a distance... not only can these not fill a room with sound, but they don't sound right unless you're sitting right in front of your computer.

Summary: Interesting...
Review: These speakers are AWESOME if you only want them to play music on your PC. Of course, with only 2.1 channels, they are not as well suited for gaming...
The sound quality is outstanding, IF properly set up. The trick is getting the volume, bass and treble levels correct. See, Windows has these settings, iTunes has another set of these settings (independent from Windows), and the sub in this set has these settings (independent from Windows and iTunes). You have to play with these settings for a while to get the most out of these speakers, or else you can hear the clipping/overdriving of the audio signal. Once you do find the sweet spot though... These speakers ROCK. Just a side note... all of my MP3s are encoded at 320kbs, so that may help, as I don't have 128kbs garbage files to begin with...

Summary: Very very fine
Review: What's to say? Very nice computer speakers for not much dough, and they go well with my iMac. Sound is much fuller than my old Apple Pro Speakers (which were pretty nice themselves). I may get another set as an iPod plugin station.
