Summary: Cannot say if it's good or bad
Review: I only used them for one day. I'm taking them back because of their size too big for my type and the right speaker is too heavy to put on hand-made shelf I plan to make for more space. The store didn't have Spin 50, so I will get them elsewhere. I can live with extra cord (power adapter).

Summary: Decent powered speaker system
Review: I purchased these speakers with a rebate and got them for next to nothing. They have a volume and treble/bass control on the front of the right speaker as well as a button to simulate 3d sound. The right speaker also has a mic and headphone jack. The overall sound quality is a step up from unpowered standard pc speakers but it is not on par with other pc speaker systems that cost just a little bit more. If you are looking for an inexpensive upgrade from non powered speakers and can get these at a reduced price you shouldn't be dissapointed. If you are looking for good quality sound for say MP3's then look to a Altec Lansing system or other brand with seperate sub-woofer.

Summary: Awsome Product!
Review: I purchased these speakers, and they are really great in sound quality, and in price. I will not buy any other speakers, these do the trick. The sound is really good, nice, deep quality. I recommend these speakers to anyone in the market for nice quality, and with the low price, why would anyone say no.

Summary: Great Speakers for Price Range
Review: I really think these speakers are great for such a low price. They don't give any nasty, cheap vibrating sound that other low-priced speakers give. The speakers are also not ugly as other inexpensive ones are. The color of these speakers match most keyboards (a perfect match with microsoft keyboards and very close to logitech) as well as monitors. They possess a very simple volume and power control and you can plug in an earphone/headset directly into them. If you could dish out some extra cash and need a lot more power, I would recommend the cambridge pc works speakers. However, I listen to music on these all the time and these labtec speakers still sound great. I hope you find your perfect speakers!

Summary: BETTER (YES, BETTER) THAN THREE-PIECE SPEAKERS
Review: I wanted 2-piece speakers that delivered good quality sound for a super-low price. The Labtec LCS-1070 Spin 70 speakers, simply stated, exceeded my high expectations. I consider myself an audiophile, and normally would not even consider speakers in this ridiculously low price range (assuming that "you get what you paid for"), but I decided to take the risk of buying the 1070 series after reading the great reviews and realizing that spending (after including shipping costs) was a minor risk. Not only are these speakers not a risk, but they are a truly worthy investment. I am seriously considering a second pair. My hats off to Labtec.

Summary: Pretty good for the price
Review: I've had a couple other brands of speakers, all comparably priced. I don't listen to much music on my speakers, only system sounds and my computer games mostly, and they perfectly suit my needs.

The speakers are weak (not clearly audible) in the extended upper and lower regions. They're pretty powerful for their size, and I've been happy with their range of sound for most of my needs. If I were going to listen to CDs on my computer a lot, I'd pay the little extra for the next series up by Labtec.

The plugs for headphones and microphone at the front of the left speaker have come in handy for me. It's a nice bonus.

If you're looking for inexpensive powered speakers, these are a great buy.

Summary: Great for the money!
Review: I've just received these from Amazon yesterday. For the price they are excellent speakers providing a number of useful features, such as an upfront microphone jack and headphone jack which are things that are essential to me. I've bought these to replace harmonkardon two piece speakers which broke (the headphone jack broke, of which circuitry was somehow vital to the functioning of the rest of the speaker- lousy engineering perhaps this is typical?) and the sound is MUCH better. There is a greater integrity and solidity to the sound and especially the bass. Labtec spin 60 can also boost volumes that are much "louder" than my harmonkardon "hk195" speakers i'm replacing, and, again, all without losing it's accoustic "solidity"- there's a strength and depth about the sound.

I find the best way to use them is to place each speaker about a foot and half to two feet away from the sides of the monitor and then have them angled so that the speakers are "facing" each other almost directly, instead of the more typical right-next-to-the-monitor-facing-front placement. This not only creates a breadth and wider dimensionality to the sound, it creates an accoustic space in between the distance of the two speakers that's almost like a tangible atmosphere unto itself. The speakers are way off to the sides but it really seems as though there is sound comgin from the front and middle spaces.

I'm writing this review for a reason-- i'm truly enjoying Music and Games (e.g., Counter Stike- wherein the location of other players are deceptively precise and ecologically accurate now) on my computer-- truly. If you'll pardon the sentiment, I feel young again.... If you're looking for [inexpensive] affordable unpretentious speakers for your PC this is undoubtedly a great buy. There are only two thigns that are negative about these speakers. 1) the tone/bass dial doesn't make much difference-- but this is unimportant since bass and treble can be adjusted via the settings on my computer, and, personally speaking, once i set things the way I like, I never adjust again. 2) The other negative thing about Labtec Spin 60 is that it makes me want to go out and buy top-of-the-line ... speakers since it's got me yearning for greater heights in sound. But I guess i'll settle for this ... Labtec since they're more than adequate for my not so top of the line computer and interest in computers.

Summary: Good speakers for web surfing.
Review: If you're a gaming nut, these speakers are likely a bit too weak. But, for surfing the 'net and listening to MP3's, etc. at a modest volume, these economical speakers work great.
