Rating: Summary: Little speakers, big sound Review: I wanted some very small speakers that I could actually carry around easily on road trips so I could listen to music or watch DVDs on my laptop. After exploring several options, I decided something with a subwoofer was the only way to go because I have to have my bass.I bought the Cyber Acoustic CA-3000 only because they are the smallest speakers w/ a sub that I could find. To my suprise, they sound much better than I expected, and much better than one would expect for the price. For the quality, I would have expected to pay at least twice what they are going for. Now, like the other reviews I've read have said, you're not going to get JBL high quality sound that you would from a [price] system, but were you expecting to for the price? What you get is low end and pretty crystal clear sound separation (especially with the DVDs). Now to really achieve the best sound with these, it's helpful to mess with the EQ on your computer or system if you have it. Adjusting the EQ will help bring out the mids and put the highs and lows right in their place. I'm really happy with my choice. My ears are pretty happy too.
Rating: Summary: excellent for student dorm use Review: * very low price, I was not expecting excellent feature in this system, but a power button (with an indicator) and a volume knob are really all I need. * It's 9V power driven (adaper included). sounds nice. * kinda small. It's only like 2"*2"*4"(height), quite suitable for the limited student dorm space. subwoofer is also very small compared to other subwoofers (it doesn't matter too much I guess, because people always put it under desk) * subwoofer sounds great. I can feel ground shaking # bad for loud sound, but generally in dorm, I won't make it too loud. # maybe cables are too short. 7' to source, 7' to left speaker, 7' to subwoofer. alright... maybe that's enough for desk use. recommend for student dorm use...
Rating: Summary: Great sound for the price! Review: Sure, the price is low but the sound is definately better than one would expect at this price point. If you are a true audiophile then you may be able to discern some quality hits; however, for those looking for an honest, decent computer sound system at a great price, look no further. I use this system with an HP Pavilion running Mandrake Linux 8.2 and listen to mp3's over a cable modem--sounds as good as a home stereo, in my opinion. In a word, if you're looking for great sound at a great price, this is the set to buy.
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: These pump out great sound and are a value for speakers under $[money]
Rating: Summary: good for price, got to fix some aspects Review: good speaker for the price, as a beginer, i love it. however, the speakers don't magnetically shilded that well, there for, placed near the mornitor, they deliver me some humm noice. i'm looking for a better one now,,how ever, i totally satisfied with this one, umm, coz i cannot complain anything since i got it at 20 bucks, good product for a decent price
Rating: Summary: I wasn't even looking for a 3 speaker system, but... Review: Up until I saw this system I always thought that 3 speaker systems were only for mp3 enthusists. But after connecting these to my computer I was very impressed. The sound was so clear, and buzz free I couldn't beleive it. When I play music through them I hear instruments and chords that the CD player of my ... sterio can't even pick up. Very clear, very high quality sound. Rediscover your music, and BUY THESE SPEAKERS !!! There definitely worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Not the best in the world but... Review: These little things do suprize me with there sound, and the price! [very reasonable] WOW! I was going to get a sound blaster speaker set but I saw these with the SubWoofer=:) I decided to try these out. I have herd a little buzz when I put my ear up to the speaker but other than that you can't hear it.
Rating: Summary: Good sound, if you're lucky Review: These speakers probably have the best sound you can get for less than $75. Unfortunately, they also have the worst radio interference I've ever seen. The cabeling is very poorly sheilded, and is hardwired to the speakers, so you can't easily switch to better wiring. There's a constant faint buzz, which gets worse from time to time. Somethime sound will play crystal clear, othertimes there's horrible distortion. It's a real shame that these speakers weren't made with better cableing, or atleast designed so that you could switch the cables to something better. Ferrite beads ($5 from radio shack) may be one solution, if that doesn't work, I'd try rewiring the the cables by hand with something with better sheilding. Still, since I only paid $5 after a rebate for these, I can't really complain, if nothing else they've increase by understanding of the problems that can occur when setting up an audio system. If you don't mind tring ferrite beads or other RFI solutions, or if your computer is somewhere with no interference, then try these speakers, you won't find simliar onces cheaper, and they sound much better than a 2-speaker setup, as long as the RFI isn't too bad.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous Quality, Better Than My 5.1 Theater! Review: I bought these speakers as a cheap replacement for my OEM eMachines speakers. These speakers are magnificent! I think the sound quality is excellent, better than my stereo AND my Dolby 5.1 surround theater! I get crystal clear sound and have had no problems with them, despite other user comments regarding static. The only time I get a faint buzz is when I use my remote control car near them, but I don't do that any more since mom says I can't use my RC Car in the house (oops... heh heh) LOL. I have the speakers next to my monitor, printer, cordless phone base, and water fountain and it works fine. Another note, is says it has Plug-N-Play USB up there, well, there is no USB, it's just a standard headphone-type plug, so it's compatible with everything. I use these speakers on my WinME/XP machine and my Mac OS-9/OS-X machine with no problems. Good work Cyber Acoustics!!
Rating: Summary: Weak sound! My two speaker setup is better. Review: I just received these speakers and I'm very disappointed. My altec lansing 2 piece speaker set from 3 years ago sounds just as good. If you plan on listening to a lot of music through your pc, just spend the extra and buy a higher end system. It's not worth the extra money, setup and wires for a subwoofer that doesn't add anything.
