Rating: Summary: Got my money's worth Review: On the outset, i should say Cyber Acoustics CA-3000 2.1 speaker system is worth every cent i payed for it. The package has two small speakers which are similar to any normal computer speakers but of small size and power wattage. But, the sub-woofer is what makes this pack a worthy buy. Though the package came a bit chipped (sub-woofer box is made of cheap wood) and the speaker was un-protected, the sound quality was good. You can't expect 'BOSE' surround-sound from these tiny ones. But, definitely i enjoy my music better than when i used to listen with my 'in-built' laptop speakers (Dell Inspiron 8100).
Rating: Summary: For what this is, it's great. Review: Don't expect Tha Boomin' System from this very compact little 2.1 speaker set. But if you'd like a decent little speaker set that won't cramp your space and which makes the most of the little volume it can pump, this is nice. The subwoofer is wood (OK, particle board) not plastic, so you get a nice resonant low end. It's a good value for the price. You might even want to consider this as a travel system for your notebook computer...it seems this new model has a USB power tap so you don't need the wall-wart. Mine is a wall-wart model. DVDs, gaming sound, music, it does it all. It won't do it at ear-splitting volume and the little subwoofer won't rattle the room, but for what it is, it's nice.
Rating: Summary: Great Product for iPod or MP3 Players Review: This product is extremely good when used to play MP3s. The bass is deep and satellite speakers produce clear highs. They are small enough to be portable. Blows away the Bose Mediamate when you figure those are about 5 times the price!! Go get this one!!
Rating: Summary: good sound from tiny and inexpensive speakers Review: Great tiny speakers for their price. Maximum volume of these speakers is limited. But, if you are like me who will use the speaker to mainly listen to music (not games) and occasional movies, and don't want to sacrifice much of desk space, which is already half occupied by a monitor, keyboard and mouse with pad, then this one gives great value for your money. Definitely they sound better than any 2pc speaker. The sub woofer, while being small accurately produces the low frequencies. I tucked it away behind my monitor. I checked it out in circuit city along with big shots like, altec lansing ATP3, monsoon xxxx, and some other pricy ones. I would say monsoon xxxx sounds 20% better than these at medium volume, but hell, they cost 8 times more as well, and honestly I did not find altec lansing ATP3 to be any better. It costs 4 times more. May be some audiophile will have a different opinion.
Rating: Summary: Great Little Inexpensive speakers Review: A also was a little skeptical in buying these speakers, but there was an ad at a local store for 'em and I couldn't turn down the great price. I hooked it up to a portable CD player that I've been listening to at night and it surprised me how much oomph! you get out of these deceivingly tiny speakers. I would pay upwards to [money]for these speakers b/c of the great clarity and JUST enough bass to get by. The only problem is, as most people have said, the electrical interference is bad. If you plug the power into the wall and play with any electrical appliances nearby, it'll make clicking sounds, same goes with turning the lights in the room on/off. Maybe a really good surge protector might do the trick? The buzz from the speakers is also a little annoying, but a small work-around I figured out is to set it to mid volume (on the unit itself) where the static isn't as loud for some reason. If the volume is too low, it'll cause static, too high... static... So play with it and it should get rid of most of the static. I would have given it a 5 if it weren't for the static/interference thing.
Rating: Summary: Good sound quality but couldn't stand the buzz Review: These speakers truly have phenomenal sound quality for the price you pay. However, I could not get them to stop buzzing and picking up static. No matter where I put them or how low the volume on the speakers was, I always seemed to get very loud static, and often the speakers would pick up fuzzy radio signals. Eventually I couldn't stand it any more and I just gave up and bought a more expensive set of speakers. No more buzz.
Rating: Summary: WOW!! These are Awesome!!!! Review: I've never written a review, but I just had to write one about these speakers!! I listen to music while working at my computer and really wanted a better sounding pair of speakers, but I didn't want to spend alot. Well, I did my research and the reviews on this set convinced me I had to get them. I hooked them up myself in about 3 minutes flat and let me tell you the sound is unbelievable!!! You won't be dissappointed with these and you don't have to spend a fortune for a great sound!!!
Rating: Summary: Clean sound, but highs are overdone Review: I agree these are a bargain at $20. The bass is fairly impressive for only a 3" subwoofer, especially when placed on the floor. The position of the woofer makes a big difference. I wish they'd tone down the treble output since there's no manual control. Extended listening can be fatiguing. The searing highs give great detail and stereo imaging, though. I can now hear quantization noise (crackling) in 8-bit WAV files that I couldn't hear with my previous speakers.
Rating: Summary: not very good Review: these can't hold much sound. Though the bass speaker is cool and on-light is cool, they just don't come through with the sound I was hopping for. I bought another pair of speakers which i recommended above to buy instead which are $1 more, but are what I use as my stereo speakers now! I'd leave these alone - they're too delicate and though they look cool, the don't sound cool.
Rating: Summary: These are NOT white speakers... Review: I cannot comment on the quality of the sound or product, but they are NOT white but the regular computer grey putty color.
