Summary: These speakers have just landed!!!
Review: I was looking for an affordable set of speakers for my computer, and did I find them! These speakers are perfect for my gaming and music needs. And talk about design, they look like they just landed from an alien planet. I'm still wondering when these speakers are going to open up and little green men are going to come out!! These speakers totally ROCK!!!

Summary: Absolute Junk
Review: I have always trusted Altec Lansing for decent, affordable PC speakers with a sub, but when I was furnishing my new office, I figured I'd give JBL a try, since they have always been one of my favorites for home use. I can't express my disgust enough...the overall sound wasn't great at all. About a month in, the bass control knob stopped working....anywhere you set it, it gives you maximum bass. I figured out that if I push the knob hard enough, it corrects the problem....so now my ... speakers have scotch tape on the subwoofer, holding the bass knob at an angle. My advice....stay away. Go buy some Altecs.

Summary: Great Mac Accessory
Review: Got this for my birthday and it matches perfectly with my G4 powermac and compliments my iBook and iPod fairly well. Bass response is excellent, especially with games like Starcraft, Warcraft III and Unreal Tournement. Hook it up with the iPod and you have a excellent mini stereo system. This thing looks and sounds great at home, dormroom or office. The touch controlls are excellent and very intuitive. Very portable and looks good on any desktop.

You could probably get the same sound in something else for half the price but I doubt it will occupy the same place in your heart. If you are an apple owner I would definitely recomend these speakers, They do look like tiny creatures on your desktop.

Summary: Great design, great sound, great price
Review: I spent almost all of my time with these speakers at the Apple Store during my first ever visit to the place!

I echo the same positive feedback that the earlier reviewers have given. This is the purest sound I have ever heard from a speaker set of this size and budget. Aesthetically, trendy looking white Creature is goes very well with other white creatures like the iMac, iBook, and iPod. An excellent choice for desktop speakers. Combine them with the iPod and you don't need any other music system in the house.

The interface is very simple and the bass range is very excellent and beats many of the bigger speaker systems. Really worth the price. Recommended even for audiophiles.

Summary: GREY CREATURES = UGLY!!!
Review: First off, let me say how much I love the sound of these incredible speakers. I completely reccomend buying them. However...
Please, do not buy the grey Creatures. I bought them on the assumption that the "silver-ish" color would go well with my PowerBook. The pictures on the box and online made the "grey" seem much more silver than it is in reality. It is probably the ugliest, dullest gray I've see on a product in a while. The way it contrasts with my PowerBook is not aesthetically appealing whatsoever. I am very dissapointed and I feel mislead by JBL in terms of the color I thought I was buying. I mean, why have such a sweet looking trio of speakers and slap such an ugly color on it?!
I do like the white color a lot. I am hopefully going to take back my grey ones and switch them out for white ones without having to pay a restocking fee to the Apple store. That probably won't happen, though, so I'll have to pay ten extra bucks for the white color I should have got in the first place.

LESSON: Buy the WHITE Creature II Speakers and you won't regret the aesthetics of your beautiful and appealing new set of noise making apparatuses.

Summary: Superb sound and fabulous design
Review: We got these speakers to project some decent sound from my laptop computer. My Toshiba P25 does have built-in harman/kardon speakers, but they aren't sufficient for a proper listening experience when viewing DVDs, playing CDs or streaming music from Rhapsody. The Creature speaker system is fantastic!

Top things I love about it:
1. superb sound!
2. sleek, beautiful design, including fabulous electric blue "on" indicator light emitting from the bottom
3. compact and portable (enough)
4. bass and trebel control

The Creature can't compete with big, expensive floor speakers, but for our one bedroom apartment it puts out more than enough high quality volume. I can play a CD or mp3s in the living room and hear the music with great clarity in the kitchen or bedroom.

If we want to watch a DVD in bed, we plop the computer and the Creature system all right onto the double bed with us. Everything fits comfortably. Even the subwoofer.

After purchasing the Creature, we never used the stereo anymore, so simply got rid of the stereo. More space! The whole system connects to the computer with just one cable that plugs into the headphone output. This makes it very easy to swap between our two computers.

I am delighted with our Creature purchase!

Summary: Great Looks AND Sound!
Review: First, let me tell you something about me. I love sound...Big Clear sound. I am somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to sound. I have a Home Theater System in my room, and an 8 speaker sound system in my car. And, of course, JBLs for my computer. So, you can understand that I demand quality when it comes to audio.

Now, I have always been a Sony person. They make incredible products. But I would have to say that JBL takes the cake in audio products. JBL does it right!!! A lot of computer speakers these days (or even cheap aftermarket speakers for that matter) give off something akin to what you would hear from a vintage 1950's radio. It's really sad. But anyone who has ever owned a pair of JBLs knows that JBL is the exception to the rule. They are very affordable and yet...Nothing short of exceptional. And durable!!!

Anyway, you will NOT be disappointed at all with these speakers. No distortion, no static...Just clear, crisp sound that bounces off your walls and fills your ears. Sound that probably could rival some Home Theater systems.

By the way, if you are looking for something a bit smaller, cheaper and a little more economic...Than I highly recommend a pair of JBL Pro Speakers that came with the COmpaq Presario's a few years back. Amazon doesn't carry them (I'm not sure why, maybe they are no longer available or just were a promotional item for the COmpaq/JBL merge), but you can get them on ebay for about $10-$15. I have them on an older computer and they are incredible! They won't stand up to a new HOme Theater system, but they do sound a lot like the nicer audio systems coming with these new cars. They are amplified and have incredible bass for something so small.
