Summary: Great system
Review: Pros: Great sound. Like a previous customer said, these speakers don't over modulate when you turn it waaay up. Also, the sound is deceptive; I had my music playing at a low level but because of the sub woofer my neghbor (I live in an apartment) said he could hear it in his living room.
The Subwoofer is nigh indestructible! I mean it is like one big metal box with an amp in the back. It sounds great too when I am bumpin' that Pastor Troy and T.I.
THX certified.
Remote to control the different speakers.
set up was straightforward and pretty self explanatory.

Cons: Remote is not wireless, which for me would have been a plus since i like to listen to my music collection on the computer while I am playing video games across the room. That's the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. However, that may not be a problem for other gamers who use their pc to play games, which I don't do much.

Summary: Also there is a "matrix" feature which creates a full surround sound effect from cd's and games that don't have a 5.1 soundtrack which is also cool. All in all it is a great system, especially at $150. Even with the remote problem (which is minor) I am glad I chose this system. I also just ordered the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Sound Card because the reviewers for that say it increases the sound experience even more; so I have GOT to check that out.

Summary: Outstanding speakers for the price!
Review: Strengths:
Amazing sound for games, music, and DVD's, Excellent sub with 100 watts power, THX certified package under $200, 560 Watts Peak Power, Easy to setup

Weaknesses:
Short rear and front speaker cables (Can be fixed with extenders), Wired Remote

Summary:
The Logitech Z-5300 is an excellent buy for the money in terms of sound quality and design. The sound is crisp and (take off the removable grills for the best sound) and the bass is rich and clear. The speakers are good for anything - Games, Music, DVD's, etc.

The sub is quite big with my hand being able to fit in the "heatsink". However, it produces 100 watts of ground shaking power which is not too loud or too soft. The sub has an input selector switch which makes it possible to switch between 2 channel (stereo), 4 channel, and 5.1 channel.

The speakers are 35-40 watts each and are color-coded which makes it very easy to setup up to a 5.1 sound card. They are also wall-mountable and are rotatable for perfect placement.

The SoundTouch™ puts you in control of the volume of all the speakers including the effect of the sub. The "Matrix" mode creates breathtaking surround sound from sound sources. It also includes a headphone jack which is useful. It also contains a video game console adapter which works with Sony® PlayStation®, Sony® PlayStation®2, Microsoft® Xbox®, or Nintendo GameCube™ using stereo RCA aduio cables.

The speakers are a fantastic buy for the price and is loaded with features which are very useful.

"THX does not hand out certifications lightly, and this set has earned it."

Summary: Loud and Clear
Review: The system is exceptional. It has incredible power and is clear as a bell. I am very impressed with this system, it nearly blew me out of my seat playing Doom3.
My only complaint was in the delivery. It took 11 days to receive, neither UPS or Amazon kew where it was initially. Aside from that I would highly recommend this system.

Summary: What a package
Review: These speakers really have made me enjoy my music alot more. I used to have a 2.1 speaker system that had came with my computer, and the bass just wasn't what it should be. So i decided to go and buy these. The sound quality of the voices is so much clearer and crisper. Not to mention the subwoofer is the size of a 15 inch t.v it delivers amazing bass. i've even used these speakers to play on my xbox, since it comes with an adapter to use on tv's and such. There isn't many speakers out here that can cost this little and give such good quality. I highly recommend these speakers if you are going to use them for gaming on your computer. It gives you such a different effect, i even mounted the back two to my ceiling since they are able to rotate and have holes for you to mount them.

Summary: Great product
Review: This is a great product. I dont know how the sound quality compares to other products, but I know the quality is 100x better than my Dell Altec Lansing 2.1 system. 280 watts is not as much as the z-680s, but it is enough for a small to medium area. If you don't need the home theater decoding, these speakers are an incredible value.

Installation was incredibly easy, it took longer to untangle my old speakers' power cord than to hook this up. Everything is color coded.

One minor low point is if I put my ear DIRECTLY in front of the speaker (less than 1 inch away), I hear a very low hissing sound. When I sit normal distance (2 feet) from the speakers, it is absoulutely silent in the room. Even 5 inches away there is no hiss. This is the amp making the hiss, and not my sound card, because when my computer is off there still is a slight hiss. Don't let this turn you away, as I think it is typical with almost all high powered speaker systems.

With my Audigy 2 sound card, the quality is amazing! Buy these today if your speakers are either 2.1 or low quality other ones. You won't regret it!

Summary: Very nice for gaming and music!
Review: This is a very nice speaker set. Whether you're gaming or listening to music, you won't be disappointed. A little tweaking with the software equalizer to bring up the high end so you and your friends will be awed with great sound. Take it easy on the volume at first, though; you'll want to break them in before throwing a party.

Summary: Wow...I mean Wow!!!
Review: This is by far, the best 5.1 surround speakers if you can not afford the z-680. The subwoofer on this thing is unbelievable. I played the Matrix, Underworld, LOTR, and it was just paradise. So much clear, concise, heart throbbing sound for the buck! I read reviews on Altec Lansings, Creative Labs, etc...and this product had the best reviews...and now i know why baby. and this great sound so far is with my ac audio 97. gonna get my audigy 2 zs card in a couple days...then it'll be sound heaven! btw, i haven't even pumped this thing out to 1/2 the volume yet and my room is rocking with sound. The bass is on 30% and the volume is at 30% and i had my neighbors tell me the sound was too loud. can u imagine what would happen if i set up the bass to 50% and the volume to 60%? thats a straight ticket to jail baby! Speakers are Amazing...highs are crisp, mid is good, bass is out of this world.

Summary: Logitech Z-5300 Review
Review: This speaker system is a very good choice if your looking for a good buy withough blowing a hole in your wallet. I recieved these speakers today, and burned them in for 7 hours non-stop, at about 30-50% volume. These speakers can really put out the sound, and its not just noise, good clean sound. I also purchased the Audigy 2 soundcard to go with it, CRISP. There are some flaws to the system though. No decoder (but with a 5.1 sound card, doesnt matter), and the cord to the wired remote. It's huge, about the same size as a power cord. I have no idea what Logitec was thinking when they designed that. If you are going to get this really nice sound system I highly recommend getting a soundcard that supports its 5.1 capiblities. Although it doesnt come with a decoder, Logitech through in its Matrix mode. I personally think its an improvment from its last one. It does a decent job separating the sounds, but I woudlnt use it all the time, im not sure if i would use it at all, but its a pretty cool feature. And the nob for the remote is big and easy to control, especially with its GUI, easy to tell audio levels for the main vol, sub, fader, and center channel. For the people that do get this system. Please hook it up right. Dont put the speakers on shelves and think that they are in a good spot for lisening. The experience of surrond sound is a science. Go online and search for proper positions of the speakers. It really does make a difference in your sound quallity and the joy of listening. I would write a more detailed review if i had the time. But i didnt. and they also put a word limit. So I hope this review helps people decide which system they should get. :-) Matt

Summary: Great Value
Review: This system is my first one and I think it is awesome. The subwoofer is pretty powerful and the satellites are handsome and powerful, and capable to be mounted on the wall, they are capable of being rotated. The digital remote control is cool. Easy installation. I have an Audigy 2 ZS Sound-Card and I think the speakers work great with it. I was looking for Z-680 speaker system but when I found these babies I just realized that they cost less than Z-680 but they are not as powerful as Z-680. I really like them and I am sure you will, too.
