Rating: Summary: Super gadget, easy to use, multiple uses! Review: The Acer iRhythm 900MHz Wireless Remote Tuner works as advertised. Easy installation (get the software updates online), very good sound quality, a very clever device that is handsomely designed and well constructed. In addition to being able to access a (seeming) zillion internet radio stations, the remote device can also wirelessly "broadcast" your music playlists (or internet radio) from your PC to your home sound system or headphones (using the included small remote receiver). It is recommended that you also install the latest FREE versions of Windows Media Player and Real One Player. Somehow these players interface with the iRhythm Tuner and expand its capabilities. A cautionary note: The iRhythm software may tell you, incorrectly, that you have obsolete versions of Windows Media and Real One Players. This slight error does not affect the functionality of the unit and can be ignored. The unit is optimized for Broadband/DSL connections but will operate with a good 56K modem connection. If you can stream music using Windows Media or Real One Players then the device will work on your system. Summary, it is a fun and highly practical device that enables you to squeeze more audio entertainment from the internet and from your PC.

Rating: Summary: Great concept...poor product Review: The concept of this product is great, however what the manufacturer does not tell you is that there are many devices in your home (cordless phones, baby monitors, even your PC) that could interfere with the reception of the remote receiver. I spent many hours trying to tune the receiver with the transmitter with no success, even when the transmitter and receiver were within feet of each other. I found the documentation and technical support for the product left a lot to be desired also. I have chose to ditch the idea of using the tuner remotely, but I am going to use the device as a wired device to my home stareo. Plugging the device directly into my home strero provides great reception and terrific sound quality.
Rating: Summary: poor reception Review: the idea is great, the problem is that if you live in an apartment, like i do, you may have trouble with the weak transmitter. my transmitter and receiver are only 20 feet apart, and the sound is really distorted at times. depends on your location.
Rating: Summary: I wish it would work Review: This iryhthm tuner is innovative and ingenius and the only product of it's kind on the market. At a price of less than (price)it's a bargain. If only it worked. The IM tuner software can be downloaded for free at (sonicbox's website) and I suggest that buyers of the hardware first download the software and play with it for a week. If by chance the software works on a regular basis for you, then get the hardware. My experience has been that the software does not work and I suspect the problem is with the irhythm server. I have a good computer and a cable modem connection. I have spoken with IT at irhythm and they weren't able to help me despite an hour of discussion on the phone. Their guess was my bandwith was a problem but the stations work without a problem on other programs, it's only on sonicbox where the stations regularly buffer and then pause. If you need a 900 mgz audio transmitter for your computer, buy the hardware and expect to use Real player or Microsoft Media Player, maybe someday the software/server for irhythym will work. By the way, you can't order extra receivers for the remote tuner. To say I am disappointed is an understatment. My wife is from Europe and we had hoped that this would allow us to listen to her favorite stations anywhere in the house with a remote control to change stations. Well, it doesn't work for us.
Rating: Summary: Software Issues / No Support Review: This is great for listening to Internet Radio over your regular stereo. It sets up in minutes. The only problem is that it get noisy (Rarely though)because it works like a cordless phone. Well worth every penny!

Rating: Summary: Great Gizmo Review: This product needs a little dialing in, but after you manage that, you can't beat it! In the beginning I was a little dissapointed with the product because I seemed to get an annoying hissing sound through my speakers. In order to resolve it, I first retuned the base to the remote, making sure I had optimum reception. Then I repositioned the wires and the base unit away from my hub and all the other wires (thinking that I might be picking up some type of interference from all the wires and the other electronics). Finally, I realized that the computer's volume influences the output gain on the stereo. My volume was set very low on the computer, so in turn I really needed to turn the volume up high on my stereo to get any kind of volume out of my speakers. All of these little tweaks, did the trick and now my wife and I really enjoy the versatility and wide range of programs that the iRhythm has to offer. One of the cools thing about it is that since the signal is RF and the tuner works wirelessly, you can be mobile and easily change between music channels. For example, while we're getting ready we can have the tuner in the bathroom, or I can have it outside while I'm barbecueing. Too cool!
Rating: Summary: Wireless Weakling Review: While the idea of being able to wirelessly access our music and Internet radio channels sounds great, the fact of the matter is that this product is not the one to break new ground with. The device looks cool enough. But upon installation, it was immediately obvious that there were huge gaps in performance. It's ability to transmit a decent signal was lost. Not even in the same room with the transmitter was it able to work properly. Being an electronics gizmo addict, I had no problems understanding the easy to follow instructions, or the layout of the remote tuner. Still, it's a great idea, but with poor exectution. If your looking for remote access to your MP3 files, go with the Dell Remote Tuner instead. It uses the telephone lines, has a traditional remote control, performs flawlessly, and may someday be able to tune in Internet Radio. RTD.
