Rating: Summary: Stunningly great player Review: Bullet review:1) Size: incredibly small. The mini, width and length, is the size of a business card. The weight feels like nothing--I forget I was carrying it in my pants pocket. The smallests, lightest player you could imagine. 2) Controls: all of the controls are on the wheel--instead of the four buttons on the full size iPod, they are built in the scroll wheel. Also unlike the full size iPod, the buttons are click buttons meaning you get tactile feedback and, more importantly for northern weather, the five main controls can be operated with gloves on. Only scrolling requires fingertip operation. 3) Sound: pretty much perfect through the included headphones. 4) Software: iTunes is easy to operate, and of course you can rip in your CDs to store on the mini. 5) Case: unlike the full size iPod that religiously shows the prints of any finger that gets anywhere near it, the mini's case goes not show fingerprints, is scratch resistant, and doesn't demand that you keep in a case to keep it in good shape. 6) Storage: 4GB. It is what it is. I have about 80 GB of tracks ripped on my desktop machines, so even the largest iPod would involve swapping tracks in and out for me. The question is whether you need 1000 songs on the machine at once. 7) Style: unquestionably the best looking player on the market, ever. For comparison, take a look at the soon to be release Nomad MuVo2 player--the Nomad looks like spare 70's transistor radio with an LCD stuck on.
Rating: Summary: Colorful, Efficent, and very small!! Review: First of all I have Windows XP and install was a breeze....basically just put the CD in and it will prompt you what to do. itunes was simple and easy to use as well. Within 3 hours of purchasing the ipod I was able to download almost 200 songs. The longest part was downloading all my CD's on itunes. The sound quality is excellent and I love everything about it (although I wish the battery lasted longer- it's about 4 hours). I bought the pink and it is sooooo cute. For the guys out there- if you are thinking about getting this for your girlfriend/wife you will make her very happy! My boyfriend blew it and bought me a RIO which I quickly exchanged for the mini ipod. This thing is awesome!
Rating: Summary: My Pink iPod Review: Hi,
I experienced really poor service ordering from Apple direct. I first placed an order for a personalised ipod mini and the lead time on delivery was set at almost a month later from order placement. I needed the ipod sooner as it was a gift, and I contacted Apple and I suggested changing my order to a standard ipod mini rather than personalized in the hope this would improve delivery. They told me that the engraving process only took 5 minutes and it wouldnt improve delivery at all. A few days later I contacted them again in the hope they could improve the delivery and was told by a different sales contact that by changing to a standard ipod this would improve delivery greatly. I changed the order and the delivery did improve to ship in a couple of days. The day passed and the shipment hadnt been made, and the lead time had gone back out to the same time as the original personalised ipod mini. I contacted them again, and after holding for 30 mins was told that that was just what the lead times could do - just change at any given moment! I promptly cancelled my order, and ordered with Amazon. Sorry, Apple, fantastic product, rubbish service.
Rating: Summary: iPod mini Review: I heard of the iPod mini. I know it's smaller than my iPod (3.6 x 2.0 x 0.5 inches), it's also lightweight (only 3.6 ounces). I've been taking a look at this item in like couple of stores, like CompUSA, Portland Mac Store, Apple store in Washington Square, it's a good design, I also liked the ClickWheel. If I buy the iPod mini, I will prefer pink. The only bad about this thing is my girl-friends, like Kaylene, Christina, Danielle, Sarah, Victoria, Ashley Brown, Chantay, and April, they won't let me bring it with me when I go to their house. If these girls catch me listen to my iPod mini, guess what? They'll take it away from me, because you're there to talk, socialize, communicate with them. Also, pink is a girl color and I'm not a girl. So boys, please don't bring it with you when you go out and chase girls.
Rating: Summary: iPOD IS AND iFRAUD! Review: I received an ipod for Christmas and still cannot get it to work with my Windows XP. I have spoken to the customer service support people over the phone 5 times and they cannot help me. When I went to my local Apple store at Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, California the "Geniuses" at the Genius Bar were far from being a Genius. Especially when they said, "We had a lady come in here the other day and we just couldn't get the thing to work on her Windows laptop. Oh well." They refused to take give me my money back even though they admitted that my computer just might not be able to support the ipod.
You call that customer service? I have learned more on the Amazon reviews of ipods about how to get this thing to work than from the *#@%ing Geniuses at Apple. THIS IPOD IS AN IFRAUD!

Rating: Summary: SO CuTE Review: The funny thing is some people waited for over 3 months to get their mini ipod's, 5 days before christmas my mom went to target to get started on her christmas shopping, and she got the last blue one! The mini ipod is the cuttest thing i have ever gotten in my life, and one of the best gifts! my sister who has a dell music player and for the same price got 9,000 songs laughed at me! grated dell has a better deal, but who really needs 9,000 songs? the mini ipod is light weight so when i go running or i am working out i can't even feel it. although the battery life isn't what it says to be the ipod is still wonderful!
Rating: Summary: Small in Size not in Functionality Review: The iPod mini is built from the ground up as a portable device for people with fast-paced lives. It's small and lightweight physical dimensions are perfectly suited to be being placed in a pants or shirt pocket without being a burden. But don't let its light weight fool you into thinking the iPod mini is a pushover. The 4GB hard drive (3.7 GB actual) can hold about 1,000 songs - enough to last almost three full days. The installed software includes four games; calendar; notepad; contact database; clock; backlight with timer; alarm clock; and the abilities to customize the main menu; create playlists; and rate songs. All this is in addition to being able to be used as an external hard drive. However, the most revolutionary aspect of the iPod mini (aside from it's size and weight) is its control interface. Incorporating the 'Menu', 'Pause/Play', 'Forward' and 'Back' buttons directly to the touch sensitive scroll wheel not only creates simplicity from a design standpoint, but form a user one as well. Accessing these controls is a breeze. Thankfully the touch wheel is designed well enough that accidental pressing of a control is unlikely to occur since you have to press down a bit to activate the button. I'd actually like to see the entire iPod line adopt this interface. Some people complain that the iPod mini is only slightly cheaper than the 20 GB iPod and offers a lot less storage space. But what you loose in storage space you gain in portability. It is also important to consider that compared to other players of its size and weight, the iPod mini offers much more storage space, many more features, and a better music jukebox in iTunes 4.0. I want to carry the most music I can in the smallest possible device that offers the best interface and features. For me, that device is unquestionably the iPod mini. If you have similar demands of a portable music device, the iPod mini is sure to become a permanent accessory to your lifestyle.
Rating: Summary: DON'T BUY FROM BEST BUY--BUY FROM AMAZON Review: This is a nice little device, but I made the mistake of buying from it from Best Buy. It died a week later. Even though I was well within the 30 return period, they refused to exchange it or accept a return.
Having dealt with Amazon, know I would have had no trouble in the same circumstance.
So take my advice. Buy from Amazon.
